    Thank you so much Shifu for your generosity. I have metal knees (I am 78 ) and cannot squat but have been trying pubu standing, bending supporting leg, stretching other leg and using my mind to do the rest. Combining arms and intention is improving. I am stronger already since day one and will continue this practice daily now.

    Today Today was the day to watch the training on the way to work. The desire to do the exercises was enormous. Again the ending in which "Mobu", "Gong Bu" and "Pu Bu" was trained was phenomenal. The lightness that Shifu performs is brilliant. In Traditional Karate-do we have very similar positions, of course because they came from China. The circle is taking shape in my life. After 34 years of practice and teaching, new paths open up and demonstrate that Martial Art has no end and that the path is revealed when we least expect it. Looking forward to going to the Shaolin Temple Europe. Thank you Shifu Shi Heng Yi. Today I'm going to teach students some new ways. Thank you from the heart. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

    The explanations on where on the foot you place your weight and how you shift stances are very helpful for me again.
    Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the last sesseion tomorrow morning. Maybe I am allowed to place my questions from session 4 here again:
    1. Can I use my core muskles to keep the upper torso straight in horse stance?
    2. I am not able to go even some cm deep in the 4 foot apart horse stance without leaning to the front because of week muskels and tendons from childhood on and posterial tendon problems at the time. Is it possible to practice the horse stance in the wider position first to build up muskle and tendon strength and then try to make the position more narrow?
    I would be very glad if this can be answered in the last session. I am looking forward to watching next week.
    Thanks so much again for sharing all this with everyone interested Shifu!
    It will be a very long way for me to go but I will try to go as far as I can.

    • @martinaverena3877
      @martinaverena3877 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Andrea, maybe it helps you to go a little bit more down in Horse stance if you practice with your spine sliding down a wall. You won´t feel the need to compensate by bending forward to avoid loosing balance since you are supported from behind. Of course engage your core muscles, tighten them around your spine like a corset, engage as well your pelvic floor muscles and remember the instruction mentioned by Shifu at one point: "connect the whole body", "pay attention to the details" ... You can also try and reverse the movement of entering the posture, by beginning seated (for example on a gym ball) with the legs apart, keep trying to get up a few cm with a straight spine, here you work your muscles against gravity. A way to show your body "the way down" could be holding on to a strap (fixed to a strong tree or similar), here you use the muscles and joints of the legs/glutes in the same way but put less force on them. Above all of this, the warm up exercises shown by Shifu are simply excellent, keep up the practice Andrea, lubricate your joints and get a little stronger each day... I am not an expert in martial arts, neither do I dare to interfere in Shaolin training methods, far from it... Just humbly and full of respect I let you know that I have accompanied a few people with particular, physical challenges on their journey ... Good luck & Blessings***

    • @NovemberDragon
      @NovemberDragon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@martinaverena3877 Hi Martina, thanks very much for your answer! I have thought it over. I can do the stance with my back supported by a wall for about 1 minute. I think I am not able to do it without support because of my tibial posterior tendon problems. I think my muskles are much too weak because I have to treat the ankles of both feet with much care for month now and every time I try to build up strength again the tendons begin to ache again. So I am caught in this circle and don´ t know how to get out. I think I don´ t dare to try going down with upright spine and thus my body makes the upper torso movement to the front automatically to make less use of the tendons. I think I will stay with the wide horse stance as long as this is still possible which is easier for me to do and wait until the medical examinations find out what is really wrong and then I will have to undergo the treatment required, probably to rest my legs completely for a long time. When I will be allowed to train my legs again some day I will try your version of going up from the bottom first. I hope this will work and will give me the opportunity to learn the horse stance correctly some day.
      Thanks again for your very helpful answer and my best wishes to you!

    Two points of feedback:
    Firstly thanks so much for this inspirational, well-structured and engaging delivery of the class. I feel privileged to be able to participate.
    Never thought I would be able to follow along. I feel amazing and love this type of practice with a mental/spiritual aspect.
    However, the advertisements here in Hong Kong were quite intrusive: 5-6 interruptions in the middle of a sequence where I had to grab the remote and skip the ad manually, interrupting the flow and the timing of the sequence. I’m not sure if this is specific to Hong Kong TH-cam setting, but it’s a shame, as it’s easy to loose the spiritual aspect and connection if you are interrupted every 7-8 minutes by advertisements for hair product, cleaning, Disneyland, etc. for 20 to 30 seconds.
    It would be great to have the ads at the beginning and the end of the practice not 5-6 interruptions during the practice.
    As I said, the ad interruptions are a shame as this is great practice with a meditative and spiritual focus.

    Thank you Shifu. The pubu is difficult to master. However, I cannot help feeling amused to see the Master squatting down to eat at 51.39. Reminds me of the trishaw men eating their meals, when I was a little girl.

    Thank you so much. I am living in Fuerteventura on the Canadian islands, I normally don't like sport, but I love this exercises, what give me a lot of energy, strength, flexibility and stronger muscles. The best training I ever had. It looks so easy, and in the beginning it's so hard, but wonderfull in the effect. Blessings to you to share your knowledge with the world, to help people. You have no idea, how many people you are helping with that , relieving pain, loading energy, maintaining health and good mood. All the best to you, feel blessed! Christa

    Master, I am a woman of almost 60 years old and I have led a life with very sedentary jobs, the consequence is that now my muscles are very weak, my spine with protrusions, the sciatic nerve trapped and my joints with little cartilage but I see that QiGong as exercise it is something that I can do and it makes me think that over time, the practice will make my body improve and maybe even alleviate all my pain, is this possible? Thank you for your great generosity in offering this course.
