RADIO FLAP SETUP WITH ELEVATOR MIX FOR THE CARBON CUB S2 ON A SPEKTRUM TRANSMITTER

  • I have had requests for how to program flaps into a Spectrum transmitter for rc planes. Specifically the HobbyZone Carbon cub S2. But these setting can work for almost all high wing style planes. You can always adjust to what best suits you and your style of flying.

    you mixed up the instructions on position 1& 2 but we know what you mean . However you have the best mixing tutorial

    Thanks. I'm going to try elevator mix with my UMX Turbo Timber if it ever gets blown out of the tree I "landed" it in a few days ago. 😢

    I have this plane and have not been able to use the 1 ail/ 1 flap setting as it disables Aux1 and forces the plane to stay in safe mode indicated by the green light in front. It cannot be switched out of safe at that point. Just curious if you've noticed this or what other settings you changed to avoid this. I ended up creating a "mix" from the mix screen and choosing "normal" for the wing type.

      they have over complicated this plane. If you can fly it fine without SAFE then rebind with SAFE off and do what I did in this video.

      @@FatGuyFliesRC Thanks for your reply. And yes, taking safe out of the equation would be great, but there's no info on how to accomplish that with the 3230 flight controller in the S2 vs the 636 in the first version. Aux1 is dedicated for safe and you don't have the different bind sequence to remove it. Sad, really.

      @@darrenpettegrow1225 Wanna know a secret? I ripped out all that crap and installed an old ar36a sport receiver programed as the original Parkzone Sport cub s2 which is the same air frame. Like I said they over complicated the Carbon Cub s2.

      I used to be able to do flaps on AS3X but somehow everything went to crap. I switched SAFE to switch B instead of A, using A if switch B wasn’t in the 0 position it would automatically go to SAFE, I inhibited it and everything got messed up. 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Im having an issue, Im using my Dx8 G2 and set up everything correctly, but when the flaps go down, the plane enters SAFE and wont leave until i raise the flaps again. Any advice?

      You will have to assign your flaps to a different three position switch. or go into forward programing and move safe.

    I have a DX6E and haven't been able to program flaps into it at all, because SAFE and the panic switch take up channels 5 and 6 in the transmitter. Is there a way to remove the panic function and replace it with the flaps?

      Only.if you able to get into forward programing.

    I have everything set up the way you do but my flaps are down and don't change when I change switch positions.

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      make sure you selected D as the switch . Make sure in channel assign it is aux 1 and unable to be changed. Make sure the flap servo lead in plugged into channel 5. If all these are set then it should work. If not start over , something was missed. If in FUNTION list you do not see flap system then you need to go back to wing type and select 1 aileron 1 flap.

      @@FatGuyFliesRC I have the rtf version that I'm trying to setup to a dx6e. Channel 5 is the rudder and whenever I change it doesn't work right. So I'm just gonna buy a new wing and not cut the flaps, it's to irritating.

    Hello, my 2-second delay will not work. It won't work on any delay I put in, just an instant. Am I missing a setting somewhere? thanks

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you set up a wing type as 1 aileron and 1 flap? At the flap setting screen in function list bottom of screen in delay if it is inhibited then it will be instant. Highlite inhibitted and use roll to make it 2 second delay then back out. Hope this helps.

    I've always wondered why the instruction manual didn't include the mix since it does include how to install the flaps.

    • @FatGuyFliesRC

      Flap settings really are subjective to so many factors. Example : these settings are great with normal scale flying but if you deploy full flaps at full throttle then she will balloon on you. how aggressive is the pilot? do you prefer stol take offs or scale? My point is there are so many factors that can affect your settings, that why I say these are a great starting point. That may be why they did not include the flap settings. and any settings are always disclaimed as "suggested"
