      Glad I could help. JUST FYI the flaps have nothing to do with forward programing.

    Finally someone tells how to hook up the servo leads and how they operate. Thank you so much. I have a cheap T6A -V2 turnigy radio. I just bought it and they were out of stock of the USB cable that connects with your PC. I wonder if you can just use lets say channel 5 or 6 for flaps and you don't have to configure it on your PC? Any help out there?

    My experience with 1 cub s2 with factory controller A3230A was different than all other planes. Flaps/aux1 default to channel 6 on the tx. The s2 controller wanted flaps input on channel 8 and since spektrum nx10 wouldn’t allow a channel reassignment on aux1 a common fix is to use a mix and ignore the flap page. Yours seems different than other cub s2s.

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      This video was about the principle of setting up flaps. However in my carbon cub S2 I removed the stock flight controller and receiver and installed an older ar36a sport receiver from an destroyed sport cub s2. So a much more basic setup.

    I’ve got a dual servo flap system. The travel is different when I use the three position flap switch. Do you know how to adjust the throw for one of the servos.. maybe if I reduce the total throw on the one with more travel they will be closer at mid flap?

    • @FatGuyFliesRC

      If I remember right you mix them and enable trim on the mix screen.

    Good tips! I know this is an older video but is it possible to adjust the flap trim individually? I have a Turbo timber Evo and one flap sits slightly lower then the other causing it to drift off to the right only when flaps are deployed. Any good fix for this or maybe its normal?I'm assuming there is some kind of adjustment inside the wing under the stickers where the servos go but I really dont wanna rip all my stickers off and ruin it. The only other option i see is maybe adding some tail mix to adjust for this but im curious what you would do?

      Adjust the clevis in or out manually to even them out . You should not have to open anything up.

    Hey big guy liked your video with the Tasman xfly so much I bought one. I have a problem I cant get the ailerons or flaps to work. Think I might have stuffed up the wiring or something. I would appreciate if you could give me some of your expert advice. Desperate!!

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure the servos leads are connected correctly they all connect light to light darhk to dark. Also the y supplied for the flaps my give you some issue . Insure it was connected correctly with the polarity. Again light to light dark to dark. The now single flap lead should plug into your flap channel and now single aileron lead plugs into your aileron channel in a Spektrum receiver its is channel 6 for flaps and channel 2 for ailerons. If none of this helps take the wings off again and test all four servos in the wings with a servo tester. Trouble shoot from receiver to servo and the entire wire road in between. I hope this helps. it is more than likely something simple and staring you in the face. Walk away and come back later.
      Sometimes I have even disassembled the model and started completely over. More often than not I discover something I missed or ignored that was actually important.
      I really hope this helps you.

    I have a tactic TTX650 and I'm trying to setup my flaps on my p-51. The manual calls for takeoff to be 27mm, and landing 60mm. I have a deflection gage that tells me how far they are moving in millimeters, but I can't figure out how to change how much they are moving in my transmitter. Could you help me out?

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have the same issue when the manual gives millimeters and not percentages which is the way most transmitters are setup. you must put the gauge meter on the control surface and just keep eyeballing it until your percentage is spot on to the manuals info. Sorry but I know no other way.

    My e flite valiant has some bulges in the one wing from the factory and the servo for the flap on that wing works extra hard and can't get the flap down all the way.. when I bring it down all the way manually plane unplugged it bounces back up a bit on its own.. I think the foam hinge is too thick on that one I'm not sure.. haven't flown it yet. Still new. What a pain

    I have a very important question. I have a Dx8 transmitter, and I have the carbon cub S2 plane . I took out the flight controller A3230A receiver that came with the plane and put in a spectrum AR 631 I then binded it..elevator is working. My rudder is working. My throttle is working even my flaps which I have on channel 6 Aux 1.. did everything like you said by watching all of your videos. The only question I have now is I have two Aileron arm servos one right and one left i..my receiver only has one output for the Aileron switch. What do I do to get right and left working on one switch? Do I get a Y connector and tie them both into the same switch, any information you can help me I would be so grateful I’m doing everything by watching your videos and so far so good except not knowing how to do my Aileron arms ?

    Hello
    I have a old Taylorcraft. W/ no flaps. So I program the DX6I transmitter so I have flaps now but only one side comes down there side go's up.
    Other then that everything work.

      If they are on a Y lead then remove the Y lead and plug one of the flaps into its own channel on the receiver and assign it to flap also. Then in you transmitter reverse its direction and then they will work together. The other option is to remove one of the servos and replace it with a reversed sevo and they put them both on that same y lead again and then they are both control from the same channel. And the last option but it may require a longer pushrod is to flip the one flap servo to were it is in the opposite orientation of the other flap servo and reconnect it and single y lead also. First option is the easiest.

      This Taylorcraft plane has no flaps. I'm using the AILE as for flaps once I'm in the air I can turn off. I'll try what you shared with me but it's not making sense. If I unplug one side then I won't have ALIE. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

      @@FatGuyFliesRC Sorry to brother you.. guess I'm not making my self clear. This Taylorcraft has no flaps to unplug. I heard you can program the transmitter so you can use the aileron as flaps using the flap switch so I program the plane and everything is working? But as I said only one flap going down and the other is going up. So again hate that I can figure this out. See once you switch off the flap switch the aileron work like they should but once you hit that flap switch one flap will go down and the other go's up. It sames the one side need to be revised once you hit the flap switch. Maybe it can't be done until I buy something to revise that other side..
