Sounds like that was one heck of a crash with the Apprentice, luckily they are pretty easy to repair 😅 Flying in the wind is very tricky, I learned that in my last video and almost crashed my new P47 1.2m in its maiden flight lol keep the plane videos coming! 🤙🍻
If you connect the Carbon Cub S2 flaps - see manual (everything you need is in the kit and flap switch above the left stick on the stock transmitter) the plane can fly, take off, and land much slower. The flaps have two settings. It took me a bit to believe that works since it says it uses a 4-channel transmitter but it turns out to be 4 channels plus the flap switch.
I got the carbon Cub S2, on my first flight with some wind I also had a real hard time getting it down, even with no throttle the plane wouldn't want to come down. After several loops if finally did but very gradually. Cool video and comparison.
The Apprentice is the easiest to fly RC plane that i have ever flown. Tons of fun, behaves like a Cessna. The Cub is a lot of fun, but all the control surfaces are too slow, or don't have enough travel to fully control the aircraft. I went and manually increased the travel distances by drilling new holes on the control arms. Now I am MUCH happier with the Carbon Cub,
Yeah, the apprentice is just a really fun plane to fly, but yes, the cub I’m still getting really comfortable with it and I guess I don’t notice that just yet
did you say you were a drone pilot before the trucks... If so, are the planes as fun as a drone. I keep thinking of getting one. I'm a drone pilot myself and the drone seems to be faster, crazy maneuvers. But the planes seem to be more careful with. What are your thoughts between the 2 air born RC''s?
I wouldn’t say I was a drone pilot I’ve flown drones quite a bit but flying planes is definitely more challenging but a ton of fun and you can make it a very fun relaxing thing or you can go out there and do tricks and have a blast
I subscribed, this is the most informational video I’ve seen yet about the carbon cub and S2😊❤
Awesome! Thank you! I’m putting together more and more plain videos on this channel now

Yeah, I’m getting the hang of flying in the wind now, but it definitely makes things a bit more difficult

I was thinking of adding the flaps to this thing I’ve heard they’re fun to fly with those that you can go extremely slow

Yeah It’s interesting learning the characteristics of each plane and it’s definitely been fun learning how to fly slowly getting the hang of it
It is hard to get down in safe mode. Expert mode you can get it down quick
@mavcar38 yeah I don’t run any of mine and safe mode anymore. It was nice when first learning, but it restricts you a lot.
That’s sweet Bars? I have been looking at planes. I do still want a good drone and you know my history with planes🤣🚀🧨🔥
Great video bars!
Appreciate it!

Ensure the rate switch was set to full.
Looks like a lot of fun and peaceful
It really is.

How durable are these cub planes?
I’ve had a number of bad landings and I even hit a tree during landing, and it has survived all of it
Are you from Pittsburgh. I'm picking up a Pittsburgh accent!
Yes, I am lol
So basically, the cub has a higher stall speed.
Yeah
Nothing like pushing newbs into something that when they crash Costs more, EH??
Well, if you want to learn to fly, these are two great planes to start with if you don’t wanna learn how to fly then don’t buy one and don’t crash one
Break plane videos out, i personally don't mind watching flying.
Yeah as you can see on the views most don’t watch lol
