I recently found, 21 6.7, if you mash the throttle like you want to savor the acceleration, slow fast, repeat three times, the DPF sensor will finally detect the plugged filter early enough to drive it for 30 miles on regen and filter stayed clean approaching 2 weeks now, local driving.
If a gasser works for your needs, it is very wise to do so, emissions has caused the most low maintenance, most reliable, economical, engines to become a nightmare, stranding you as you relate, not even bothering to tell you what to do (as described hereabove or drive long distance at 2500rpm. In my case, it did not clear but did do a regen after 100 miles, incompletely.

I had a 2001 5.9 Cummins in a Ram 3500, if the transmission didn't need to be rebuilt once a year, I'd still have that. Also had a 94 F250 7.3 idi manual trans and approaching 300K miles, was the most reliable truck I've ever owned. Towed a 34 foot toyhauler from Pa. to Arizona a few times, zero issues. If it wasn't for the terrible fuel economy, I would probably still have that one. And of course, the Eco which was the worst. Great fuel economy and towed just fine for what I needed but was way to unreliable and expensive once the warranty was gone to keep.

@@danielskelton9373 if its anything like my ram press the button for the gear to go up until it passes 8th gear then there isnt a number which I'm assuming is automatic from there once your on the road, hit 25 mph go on cruise control and set it on whatever speed. Hope that helps.

@@danielskelton9373 Imagine the job of the DPF sensor- it checks difference in presssure from inlet to outlet. If you punch it hard, like you want to feel the acceleration, then let off fast, slow fast, the difference in pressure is easier to sense, is greater, and tricks the regen into starting. Then drive 20 30 miles, 2500 rpm. DPF stayed clean weeks now.

I just purchased one of the last 2022 Big Horn eco-diesel‘s that were made and I was told that I shouldn’t buy this motor if I did short around town drives. I use the truck to drive 25 miles or more at a time so hopefully I’ll be ok.

I usually drive mine to work and back each day, 28 miles one way with an average speed of 50 mph. I totally didn't expect this issue. Still waiting on the OBD interface to connect AlfaOBD to the truck and hopefully can force a regen and all will be well. Will make a new vid once I have the interface. Best luck with your Ram!

I know the feeling well. I traded mine in for a 5.7 hemi Rebel and couldn't be happier!
Conozco bien el sentimiento. ¡Cambié el mío por un 5.7 hemi Rebel y no podría estar más feliz!
