I have a 2017 Ecodiesel which I installed a GDE (Green Diesel Engineering) tune in at 750 miles. Throttle response improvement was fantastic, mileage improved, no regens!, and it bypassed the EGR. Today, at 125k miles, mileage is consistently in the 30mpg range and not a spot of soot on your finger if you swipe the exhaust pipe with your finger. GDE did a great job with this tune. I do oil changes at 10k miles (oil is still amber colored at 10k miles!) and had it lab tested at 100k miles. Results indicated that the engine did not have any wear issues. Love this truck and love the Ecodiesel AND GDE tune!
That's good to hear. I bought a Sofa King tune engine & trans package back in 2019 for my 2014 ecod. Never could get the thing to install and they were no help via phone & email. So, I never did get any tune on it. Total disappointment with money out the window. It's still my daily & running fine, so maybe I'll look into one of these other companies. Thank you for posting your good experience with GDE.
Could you ever make a dyno video on a stock emissions intact 6.7 cummins vs a deleted 0hp tune im super curious the difference. Love the videos man How can i support you? I’ll be buying a shirt
I ran an 80 horse tune on one for 2 years every day. I beat it like a rented mule and never had any issues. 70k miles in two years! Those 8 speeds are phenomenal and as much hate as the eco’s get I had zero issues. Bought the truck with 90k miles and sold it around 160k miles. I towed a 8000 pound boat with it every weekend both summers as well!
Just be heavy on the oil changes,, every 6 mo.s or 6k,, GM's got that little diesel running on 5-20 if you can believe that,, it's not even on the engine oil cap..😳,, longevity??
You need to come up with a pipe to connect to the exhaust so you dont soot up your shop. I suggest a flexible pipe much larger than you need to reduce back pressure and make the run as short as possible tot he out side of the building.
I do have an exhaust hose but I set it up for just a single side exit exhaust, I don’t have a set up for duals. Normally I wouldn’t dyno a diesel truck with duals (because of this exact reason) but I did it just this once for the video
@@tuckerhawkins729 I did my 21 Wrangler with just an eco tune, no deletes yet and made 287 HP and 500 lbft of torque. On a Dynojet. I'll be doing some modifications in the near future, and I'll let you know what the next numbers look like.
That's actually a really nice truck. Do these motors last longer after you delete them? My dad had 3 stock ones and they were all garbage cans. Part of me still wants one really bad lol. I love the idea of a small displacement diesel in a regular truck. If this delete makes it last, I'd buy one 100%.
So I bought an already deleted truck from a dealer but I have no idea what tune can I flash over it with the ez link to have control of what’s going with the truck?
Good video, would like to see what its max capability is. Are there actual custom tuning options available where you record datalogs or is it just kinda canned tuned bologna.
Doing this delete will help your engine because the EGR won’t be pumping exhaust back into the cylinders which makes the oil dirty and puts soot in the intake.
Great vid. New subscriber. Just bought a .19 ecod with 116km. To delete or buy extended warranty, decisions decisions. Fellow flatlander here in AB. EH😊 Will get in touch sometime
I have a 2016 you should tell the owner that it is common for the intake to blow in half. banks makes a really nice aluminum one I put on my truck and it’s not much more than OE style.
hey just curious....is this delete kit compatible with the banks intake they sell for the 3.0 diesel with that throttle valve delete??? or just the intake maybe??? please elaborate im ready to buy but dont want that bs butterfly valve intake on there if i dont have to have it.
Great video. Hey question not sure if you have had or heard of this issue with the eco diesel but I keep getting a check engine light for the glow plugs I have replaced the control module 2 times and replaced the glow plugs. I checked the wires but don’t see anything wrong. Any and all help would be great
Hey I don’t know of any reason why it would still be throwing an engine light. Maybe there’s a wiring issue like a wire that rubbed through or something.
I’m looking at a 2024 powerstroke. For the most part is it the same tuning process as the 2020 (same as you did) in previous videos? If not what’s different and or are you planning to up load a video of tuning a 2023/2024 Powerstroke with GDP Commander in the future?
Hey buddy, I already replied to the comment you left on the other video, but what I said was I haven’t found a 2022 to tune yet. But if you watch the 2020-2021 video and then read the instructions the diesel dudes sends you you’ll notice it’s a very similar process and you shouldn’t have any issues at all
The fact that the government knocked 80 fuckin horse power off this truck and possibly +/- 10mpg more and no shot at being a million mile club vehicle all for the name of emissions is actually the fuckin crime. This just wastes the vehicle.
I agree. I actually contacted the tuning company afterwards and told them about the pull and the results and it turns out I had the “race” tune installed on it, whoops
Did you figure out a mild tune, non race, that helped mitigate or eliminate the excessive coal dump? I'd like to delete and tune my '15 but don't want a black dump on a rushed day or towing 😂
@@darkirondiesel Did the mild tune help with the smoke? I keep having problems with my DPF on my 2017 and I just hit 50k miles. I think I am ready to rip it all out. But I don't want to attracted any unwanted attention.

Of course!
If you come across 1 to see an l5p before and after would be legit
That is some crazy numbers for a 3 liter diesel at the rear wheels. it's awesome to see the real numbers from the dyno though.
Can you do a gladiator ecodiesel next preferably 2021 or newer

If some freak rolls coal on me in an eco diesel I swear to God hahahaha.

👍💪🤣
bet if he upgraded the intake manifold it would make big power
Ecodiesel has a muffler and the tips have resonators. I cut all of that out. Straight piped was amazing

Facts!
Love diesel dudes
Me to man, a bunch of really good guys for sure.
Are the Diesel Dudes going to try and make kits for the 2020+ ecodiesels? I’m sure it would be more complicated but I’m curious
Yes they are, tuning is the complicated part because right now you have to ship the ecm away for a bench flash

Great job. The truck runs very well. Could you have used a Banks tune? 👍
Banks doesn’t make tunes for deletes
Hey Kyle great video....do you know or have you herd if this will save the 2018 ram ecodiese engine from granading?
Doing this delete will help your engine because the EGR won’t be pumping exhaust back into the cylinders which makes the oil dirty and puts soot in the intake.
Awesome video bud!

I have a 2019 1500 Classic. Will this kit work? I've been told it is essentially a 2018.
Is it safe to have the 50 hp tune all the time on stock tranny on a 5 th gen
Yeah for a 6.7 Cummins that’s a fairly mild tune so I’d say yes. But ultimately it comes down to how you drive it.
It’s a 5th gen eco diesel and it doesn’t come where you can switch different hp stock or 50hp bench flash
Is all you can get
