yammmit if you’ve been in a hellcat you would know that the interiors actually pretty good quality the seats are pretty comfortable but have a lot of tech inside because they’re heated seats and are ventilated so some people might not think it’s up to par and have real carbon fiber on the gear shift and also real leather on the doors i can go on but it would be too long if a comment

Tom Johnson exactly. Dodge interiors are comfortable and are no where near as cheap as he’s making them out to be. The material that’s surrounding the infotainment center and gear shifter is real carbon fiber and the headliner is made of suede. The plastic that’s in the car is almost unnoticeable when you’re in it.
Doug take this into consideration, when test driving a car , get a second camera that points at the road so we can see what’s going on and feel better it’s acceleration. Make your facecam a little smaller it will be better

@@davidcoronado6346 Dodge/Mopar has packages, whatever package you can have it in the car, even the seats they come basic with clothes, the one he is showing has the upgraded seats (with vents/heat).
The blank buttons in the wheel is for the brake/drive assistance which is called Technology package, I thought it comes with SRT by default.
As for the main stuff like the body, seats, and dashboard design, it won't get any more fancy.

speaking of a hand brake and door handles, it's Toyota's approach to reliability - if it isn't broken, dont fix it. No stupid electronic handbrake and no stupid electronic pop up handles. No stupid plastic cover on the engine and so on.. I really like the mindset of this car design.

The back up camera is standard FCA camera, you find it on Jeeps and Fiats too. I honestly wouldn't mind the interior looking on the cheaper side. It looks perfectly presentable and the engine is the main show here.

I love how this car was designed. I’m not sure exactly what the economic stats are of this but I’d assume around 70% of the cost is in the engine and everything else that makes it drive like transmission and all that other stuff making it ‘functional’. I would assume not much of the overall cost of this car is in comfort or looks. This is solely meant for speed, and I respect that

A good example, my stepmother who knows nothing about cars, she bought a 2011 dodge challenger rt for 32,000 she then sold it 6 years later for 9,000 and bought a 2016 srt challenger for 35,000. She didnt consider buying any other cars.

Doug, a lot of the "Older" design issues you talk about are most likely directly related to it's use in police service primarily. The foot brake is because they can't have one in the console because of the police equipment, and probably don't want to build it two ways, as well as the trunk release and backup camera.
The Ford Explorer police interceptor has a electronic parking brake so it can be done on police versions, just more cost effective for Dodge to leave it alone if people aren't complaining.

You do know Doug's GT has the pulley and tune kit right? With that tune, GTs put down almost 700WHP. His GT also weighs about 2/3rds of what this Charger does.

Being an SRT Charger owner, I think the appeal to this car is the aggressive looks and muscle car heritage. Yes, I get that it has 4 doors, but it's simply a big car, with a big engine, an aggressive exhaust, it's easy to spin the tires and is a lot of fun to drive. I do hope the next gen car makes some substantial improvements, but it's a lot of fun.

I have a Charger not near as nice as this one. 2007 Charger R/T Road and Track Package with 350hp. And I must say, despite it being almost 13 years old I love the car. Chargers are great cars and a lot of fun. When you hit the gas pedal you don't give a damn what extra things a luxury car has. They are just great cars to drive whenever. If you buy one, you won't regret it. They give you lots of smiles per gallon.
I own the exact same car. Love it to death and I want to keep it as a garage kept car when I get another dailt driver

The gobs of torque and the forced induction are what really make it feel quicker than it is. I have the 392 charger but I’ve driven both. The hellcat, even stock is insane in the best way possible. It only takes a few seconds to have this massive sedan flying down the road at 140mph+
Fun fact about the wide doors: they open that wide because many police use dodge chargers and dodge designed them like that so that they can fit perps in the back 😂

I drove a 2016 dodge charger srt hellcat and hit 165mph on an empty highway in the middle of the night effortlessly like it was nothing, I slowed down because the highway turned from a straight road to a curve and I almost shit my pants slowing down. I could've gone faster if the highway continued going straight but it was such an adrenaline rush
These things just keep going. Good bang for your buck. I have a scat, not a hellcat. Not sure about the cost.

The Charger was actually FULLY REDESIGNED in 2011, not 2012. However, Dodge did add the “SRT” and “SRT 392” models IN 2012, and the “R/T” model still came out in 2011, so yeah.

18:05 The air compressor also has a fix-a-flat function. Instead of a spare it can fill the tire with that gooey sealant to limp it to a shop.
My only gripe with that is if you have a flat because of a puncture that's normally able to be patched you'd be hard pressed to find a shop willing to actually patch it after the goo went into the tire. A lot of shops won't even service a tire that's been filed with fix-a-flat; they won't even remove it to place a new new tire on the rim so that's a problem. I never plan on using it if I get a flat in my scat pack because of this. I will instead utilize my AAA membership to get it towed to a tire shop.
The craziest thing about these is that with custom pulleys, a custom exhaust, and a PCM/ECU flash (as well as little things like different plugs etc) they can reach 1000HP... Or almost 850HP with just a PCM/ECU flash and no physical work...

@@mattX5 i gently slowed down with a electronic parking that wood have been impossible. and i am a professional driver all tho i was not at the time it was a 04 volkswagen passat wagon in 2010 had had it fore 5 days and the previous owner had replaced the front brake pads and rotors not the back ones. it pushed the brake pistons out of the calipers boom no brakes
