@@fxbrianh Yeah, that's true. They would obviously need to modify the front end to fit the engine and toughen up the chassis to withstand the extra weight and tork. But it's possible to do it and still somewhat retain the look of a NEON. Who knows, they might actually be working on it right now for all we know.

Also literally less than 5 minutes after he explains that the Hellcat Durango has specific styling including a custom bumper and splitter.
So as long as people have no idea what the Hellcat symbol is, don't notice the racing stripes, and don't notice any of the exterior styling changes, it's a total sleeper!
Stripes are optional even on low power V8’s. Most on the road won’t have them.

Trust me, some people couldn’t differentiate the WRX and STi. I wouldn’t expect them to differentiate a 392 Durango with a Hellcat one.
@@IRBork no average person is going to be able to look at the front or the "aero" and tell the difference between this and a normal Durango. And exaust note pretty much has no effect on it being a sleeper because you wont hear it AT ALL in normal day to day driving conditions
I will take the “aged” analogue design all day long. The shifter has a tactile feel, real gauges, a simple flip up push button seat…yes definitely. Most importantly,it has an old school 710 hp engine that makes no apologies. You can tow your boat, bring your family on vacation, and run an 11 second 1/4. Insane. I just ordered a 2023 last call and can’t wait.

The track hawk is basically the Durango and it was made 2 years ago. Only difference is that this has an extra row but basically a identical interior. Trackhawk imo is the best hellcat suv
Went to Toronto last year and rented out a Durango SRT. Coming from Ireland, I have never driven something that big with an engine of that size (six litres or something like that) as in Ireland most car engines are around two litres.
It was somewhat entertaining putting my foot down and listening the incredible roar out of the engine and watching the earth being pulled up behind me 😂

I understand why Europeans poke fun at the "oonga-bonga" American car manufacturers and their decision making skills. While I will admit, it's hilarious and completely true - I guarantee you that the car journalists who label themselves, "automobile purists" and scoff at the thought of touching a truck, have NEVER driven one (or anything like the srt/hellcat Durango).

You do have a good point, the Tesla is faster and more modern, and I would say it is a better car. I referred to cars like the bmw x5m, and amg SUV’s are 130-150k, they are as quick as this, but have a lot more tech, this is older therefore more simple, and I like that
I had to chuckle when he talked about the rear liftgate close button. I have an 07 Caravan, and it drives me nuts that it has no button back there anywhere. I guess having a button at all is an improvement, lol

They need to make a new RAMCHARGER with this engine in it.
Doug, I hate to nitpick, but you complain about the test vehicle not having items that are available as options. Two examples I noticed:
1. Sunroof, there is a factory sunroof option. You made it sound like it isn't available.
2. 3rd row charge ports. You can clearly see in the video a cigarette lighter style port directly behind the passenger side 3rd row seat. While inconvenient it would work. Second but more importantly there is an option to add a console between the 2rd row seats. It's possible (I don't know for sure) that there are charge ports in it.

Before I watch the entire video, my job is to literally inspect these vehicles and depending on their usage for upcoming events, test drive them. They are absolutely insane....ly fun to drive. And the interior is amazing. Is it practical? Probably not, but does it make grocery shopping a lot more fun? Yes, yes it does. The awd is really nice when handling all that power

Dodge seems to be the only brand with the American Spirit guiding them. This vehicle is absolutely audacious. I have a 2019 RT and it's been a great vehicle for someone with a kid and two very large dogs who head up to the lake every weekend. I can only imagine how much fun the Hellcat is to drive.

I wouldn’t say it has aggressive styling, it’s rather subdued.
If it didn’t have stripes and it wasn’t red, I would say it had sleeper status. I think you can option both of those, so it’s not like it can’t be, even if this one isn’t.
@Shutbyotch I mean, if it was gray and didn’t have stripes, would most notice the badge? The paint is certainly the loudest thing about it to non-car people. Debadging it would make it more anonymous still, but people call the 550is and even the E63s of the world sleepers and those tend to have quite sporty badging on them. It all depends on how you define a term which has no super obvious definition. Is a car with performance badges on it but still a lowkey look a sleeper? I think so, probably.

I’ve been drooling over this since I read about it last year. I’m a 61-year-old female that turns into a 13-year-old boy around muscle cars. I went from a Camaro to a van when we had kids, our youngest is 22, now I’m leaning towards a Challenger, but this idea makes me stupid happy.

People even complain about the screen resolution in a W211 E-Class. What do people expect? W211 was launched in 2002, so that's how infotainment systems were back then. Why do people complain or hate on everything when they age?
