This hit me right in the feels, Ivan. The first centerfire rifle I ever fired was a Marlin 336 .30-30 ghat my grandfather bought in 1961. I remember my dad teaching me how to put it on half cock, how to load it, how to cycle it. I flubbed the first couple tries on the half cock too. And I remember struggling a little to get the rounds through the loading gate. I still have that rifle and enjoy it quite a bit.
Great seeing the boys on the range getting some shooting in. Always good to see younger generation getting safe, valuable firearms training skills from those who know. We need more shooters to help promote teaching younger kids these skills of safety and show them it can be fun as well to keep the 2A alive and growing. Great video as always!
Really very nice watching you teaching to handle the gun, shooting and having fun with the young boys! Go on keeping safe, have a nice family christmas and a good new year.
Excellent! I have a .357 Big Boy also but tube fed. Side gate looks badass though. I also swapped out the stock lever for the bigger cowboy version and I put Skinner peephole sights on it. Very accurate and would recommend.
Great video. Great Dad getting your son into shooting . I’m 73 and got started shooting when I was 8. I have a Henry BB carbine large loop In .357. No side gate, sigh. They all should have had the side gate from the get-go. Mine was accurate out of the box at 150 POA/POI. Great gunz
Very well done. This is the best we dad's can do, to try and make up for our working or being away for other reasons. You kids, your dad's always have you close in his thoughts. Be strong, don't be so hard on each other.
As a patrol MP our K9 section had a Dodge Caravan with a full light bar. We called it the pregnant roller skate. Immediately post 9/11 our SRT had a Dodge Neon from the post motor pool that they added a magnetic whoopie light to and they would roll 4 deep in full kit minus helmet (early 2k’s kit so think lots of black Condor & soft armor panels inside them), it was dubbed the Tactical Neon.

Revolvers and lever guns need more love.
Brother, more kids deserve a dad like you.

Can't wait till my boy is old enough to take him out shooting as my dad did with me. Best memories of my life. Makes me Miss my dad so much
🙂 One tip, don't push the cartridge in all the way until the very last one. It makes it much easier to load and doesn't chew up your thumb as much.
Noted!
I also do that 😂
Another tip,
Load Henrys from the tube cut out & use the gate for top-offs.
@@pewpewTN that's no fun

Awesome firearm.
Just shot the henry 22lr on friday.
LOVE'N the straight grip lever guns !!!

Would you get a 16 or 20 inch barrel?

I'll say it again, Ivan's boys are the change I want to see in the world.
As a father...you are AWESOME! Thanks for raising great young boys that will become even greater men.
I think the Town and Country may be the greatest tactical minivan of all time.

@@soonerfrac4611 this made me lol
I've got a pretty sweet honda odyssey with a gun turret ...oops I mean sun roof 😅
A tip I learned from the cowboy action guys; Don't wrap your right thumb around the stock. Much faster that way.
Wholesome asf. Love this.
I'd recommend some buffalo bore 357 loadings for such a rifle, that or Underwood.
Bro I wish I had times like this with my dad, you and your sons are awesome
Have one and love it. Loaded up some super spicy loads and gets the steel rocking pretty good!!!!
Love this review! Great seeing the kids get range time.
Just got this rifle in 44mag/spec. Amazing, simply amazing...
Great video , thank you for sharing
Yo yo yo Ivan! Picked one up for the wife this weekend 🙌🏻
Awesome dad. You gotta a sub. Hope to do this with my daughter some day, she just turned two
Good news is I’ve been wanting one of these and it’s still legal in illinois!
The 357 out of a 20” barrel increase the velocity by around 500fps. Great starter deer cartridge for under 100m kill zone.
Many .357 loads are faster out of a 16” than they are a 20”
Nice video, nice gun, nice lessons with the kiddos
3x exploding targets stacked together? Filed under “Why Women Live Longer” 😂
😂
Haha you are in Idaho! I figured as much. Shout out to ECG! I support those dudes here at the original store in WA state.
LoL just blew that target apart, blew his heart away
I believe those targets have better activity with a solid background or if you stack them apparently lol
They're so fun to shoot. Basically no recoil.
What were those black pucks that exploded?
Good time, with your boy's!..fyi..mention east country.guns...is that Lewis county?
Looking at getting a Model X, suppressed levers are awesome
Kid timer > pro timer
most handgun calibers in carbine length barrels add 150-250 extra fps. only the 357 will give you a boost of 250-400 fps.
The 22 are super fun too & you can use 22 short also
Hey ! Where is the Isuzu Trooper?
Knuckles got a new pew!!!
Nice! 🤙🏻💪🏼🇺🇲
what is the song that was playing while shooting around the van?
I'm one of the few weirdos that likes to load Henrys the old way & just use the gate for top-offs.
"That blowed up real good!"
Great video
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
“Q” shirt is sus…
If youre an adult, go for two..
*goes for 5*
All firearms come coated with preservative oil, NOT lubricant. I suggest you clean and oil any new weapons you break the seal on BEFORE YOU SHOOT IT.
Why did you have to shoot it before the kid..?
