I recently lost my dad less than six months after losing my mom. I drive trucks so was not able to get there in time to see either of them before they passed. Watching your videos has helped me cope because you remind me so much of my dad. He wasn't big on firearms, but your mannerisms, the way you talk... you even look a little like him. I just want to say thank you for making such great content and I really hope that I get the opportunity to meet you one day. God bless, stay safe, and live every day knowing you make a difference. ❤
I got three of em. Two of em are fancy. Got a Dan Wesson 744 from the 70's or 80's, and a 2nd generation mint condition Colt detective special in .38sp.
Growing up watching cop tv shows and movies from the 1970's and early 80's, I just love a blued steel .357 Magnum revolver. It looks like Henry did a really good job with it.
@@Master_Yoda1990 do you really tho? $1000 is around the same as similar models from s&w at least, so doesn't seem that unreasonable if the quality is all right
@@realEchoz yeah, I found blued revolvers from Cimarron in .357 with walnut grip for just over $500, also found S&W model 18 for $700, an Uberti 1873 El Patron .357 for $600, a Pietta 1873 Great Western 2 .357 for $600, Ruger GP100 for $800, EAA Windicator for $380, Taurus 605 for $390, Taylor's Cattleman for $530. The Henry Big Boy looks like every cartoon and comic strip depiction of a non-descript revolver, ever. It's a mishmash of visual style in a way that brings familiarity to mind, while not copying any style that came before it. For that reason alone, it's unique and awesome.
Henry has been diversifying a lot the last few years. They First they added more lever action options, some with King's gate loading. Then they came out with the Homesteader, a 9mm semi-auto, but they kept their classic style they have so it does not seem too out of place in their line-up. Now these revolvers, which are new designs, but have a classic feel. Looks like they have not been sitting idly by hoping the lever actions stay popular.
That brass and wood birdshead grip has always been my dream revolver grip. Was planning to someday customize an Uberti revolver from extra special order parts. Yet here we are!
I think Henry did a pretty good job on those revolvers. It's a completely new design but still has the traditional look of the classics. It would look right at home next to a Smith or a Colt.
After many years of watching your channel, I have come to understand a gentleman's review. I thank you for that. A good solid revolver made by a good solid company. I am curious as to why there was no mention of the trigger pull at DA or SA. Sometimes that says more than not. Appreciate your honesty and integrity, thank you.
You can rest assured...if you spend your money on a Henry, you're buying a quality firearm. Also, by far the best customer service in the industry, if you did have an issue.
I have 3 Henry rifles . A 30-30 steel . A brass bigboy .44. And a fronter .22.to say that made in USA does matter. I'm Henry for life. They have filled my freezer every year for years. I hunt and do not baby my rifles. Winchester is the same to me. Henry and Winchester for life 😊😊 God bless
When I started buying Henry firearms at the turn of this century, if I called Henry, I was able to speak directly to Anthony. I've spoken to him a number of times over the years, and I can say he and the company care about all their customers. I've never had to return a Henry. I still own my original Big Boy 44, stamped Brooklyn NY, where they started. Load on Sunday and Shoot All Week Long. Made in America, or not made at all. America works when you buy American. Keep your neighbors employed.
They can have their magazin capacity and their polymer grips and their fancy designs...for me, revolver rules and this one is a beauty: the black surface, the brass, the classic shape - this a match. I even like the birdheadgrip! In Hickocks hands it looks like a pocketrevolver ;)
I like the Henry revolver!!Has the look of an old style, maybe 1800 early 1900s,especially with that birdshead grip!!!Henry are quality firearms!!I'm a colt & Smith guy too, have many, but this is different COOL!!
It great to see another blued revolver being produced. But Henry really dropped the ball, in not making a single action to complement their Levers... The Vaquero could use some competition!
2:20 Well, Chiappa Rhino actually uses a more or less unique cylinder release design: a left side lever that is pulled down to release the cylinder. Henry just uses the same S&W push-forward button, that is also used by Taurus/Rossi, Charter Arms, and Sarsilmaz :)
I don’t have all of them yet, think we have 4 of them currently lol but I’ve already got colts and smiths matching the cartridge selection to pair them with. Maybe some day I’ll get one of the Henry revolvers but there are far to many other firearms above it on the list. Still wanting a FK BRNO 7.5
Thanks for the review. I bought a Henry 44 Carbine last year after all of your advising how everyone needed a Lever gun.😂 I love it and it’s a beauty hanging from the Henry display box.
This is a well built revolver. Quality bluing. Excellent fit and finish. Great trigger. Many will complain about the price, but I will tell you it is quality all the way. Offhand with 110 .357 ammo, bullets touching at 7 yards. Obviously it can do the job.
Come on Hickok, you will grow to love it ! Judge it against itself, as though Colt or S&W does not exist ! I am older than you, so figure I can rip softly into you, however when it comes to shooting, if against you, I am dead every time 😁…I handled both models of that beautiful Henry a couple months ago, I found nothing I could find fault with, yet to shoot one….may need to add it to my ever growing collection…..very nice da revolver . Thanks Hickok !
I would agreem it's not a clone lke Uberti does, and I have one love it. But, it's just different like S&W is to Colt or Rugers to Colt. I think they did a great job, and the ejection method is supperior to the Colt rod and tube single ejection. And double actions proved superior to Colts single action design and became instantly popular back in the day.
Oh, and extra front sights that come with it so you can adjust for different ammo. Colt never did that! Hickok is great, Really, but could be a little more open minded toward Henry. Look at them as individual firearms because they aren't even trying to be clone manufacturers. They are unique with old west styling but improved design, like tye Big Boys, their bolts are similisr to the Markin style but ALLOT stronger than the Real Henry/Winchester 1873 (1860 & 66) design.
Call of Duty MW2 and The Walking Dead made me fall in love with Colt DA/SA revolvers, but I love the aesthetic of this revolver and I need to find a reason to buy this all American art piece
I believe these will be great.... And gives you great compatibility of ammo, kinda like in the old west days .. lots of cowboys carried pistols and rifles in the same caliber.
I like the finish, style and brass on this revolver but not particularly the wood used in the grips. I bought my first Henry rifle this year. It's a nice rifle but would've preferred a Marlin or Winchester as my other lever action rifles are but after searching for about 15 years for a .41 Magnum I finally gave up and bought the Henry to complete the collection.
I like it. I don’t want the same thing just with a different brand name, I like a variety. There’s things I really like, and things I’m not crazy about on the Henry rifle from looking at it but I have yet to put my hands on it. Will deff keep my eyes out for one.

The 2nd one had horrible milling marks on the side of the frame by the cylinder release as well as thin bluing where the barrel meets the frame, the metal looked brownish. Henry support agreed it looked bad, and said they would replace it again. The 3rd one again had a problem with the bluing where the barrel meets the frame, it looked brown in sunlight. The 4th one has good bluing, but has the same milling issues as the 2nd one, this time on the crane it looks like stripes in the metal, and the cylinder has multiple small gouges in the cylinder.
