    I went never polishing and wearing $90 dress shoes from Macy's for 2 - 3 years until my toes literally came out the bottom, to having 4 pairs of Allen Edmonds and making them shine. I'm surprised I enjoy it as much as I have, and how much looking down to see something beautiful throughout the day improves my mindset. I was already very into watches, but never cared about shoes. Better late than never, thanks for the vids, they're very helpful.

    Your channel and several others have cost me a small fortune in shoes and polish of the last year or so. Its all good though, I find it relaxing and rewarding to sit for an hour or so and polish up a pair of shoes and clear my mind of work and other unimportant things.
    I will comment though on this video whist ASMR videos appear to be a popular media, I much prefer hearing you explain what you are doing and why.

    I have a question. I seem to always get a build up of wax in the holes when polishing brogue Shoes. If I try tapping it with the brush hard enough to remove the wax from the holes it damages the finish. Do you have a video on how to avoid this or could you make a video detailing the solution to this problem. Thanks and I love your videos! You have changed the way I look a shoes forever!

    • @kirbyallison
      @kirbyallison  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Great question! If you were to apply enough wax to the whole shoe to provide a mirror shine, the wax would crack as soon as you started walking. You should only mirror shine the areas of the shoe that do not bend or flex, like the toe and heel. If you have any other questions please let us know.

    2:55 "Less is more, too much will make it sticky"
    Not only that, but if it's a well worn shoe with creases and crinkles, the neutral cream can leave a white residue when it dries, and you'll need to use a lot of elbow grease to brush it off - or you'll simply have to clean it. Learned that the hard way, using an applicator brush - using fingers, like here, makes it easier to apply the correct amount.

    • @Myrslokstok
      @Myrslokstok 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Avery-John Domingo
      Renomat sounds like a product that strip the shoe 👞 from vaxes and should not be used to much.
      Start with a soft wax, if that does not work. I would probably go with the renovature as Kirby starts of with, even tough I personaly dont do spit shine, but maybe 2 layers of soft vax and 2 layers of hard wax. Kirby usually finish of with a tine layer of soft vax.
      I usually only do:
      - brush
      - renovature
      - shoepolish and the edge
      - soft vax all over.
      - soft vax only at toe and heal.
      - hard vax all over and edge.
      - hard vax at toe.
      It is good enough for me, I do not want them to shiny!
