    Just brought this unit today for my wife. She's a Sony fan & claims it may be better than my NEX-4500 pioneer. We'll see. If her Radio is better I may Have to Grab a top Kenwood Excelon model.

    I just installed mine and I'm a bit confused. I can't get it to prompt Android auto. I also don't have the extra icons on my home screen that you have. Do i need to update it or something?

    I thought the 5600 didn’t have anti-glare. It says on Sony’s website that it doesn’t.

    Looks good very informative. Do I need a single or double din install kit for this?

    Great walkthrough, do you recommend this over say Alpine 660e, Kenwood or pioneer in the same price range? Which would you recommend between these? Thanks

      It really depends what you are looking for, if you looking for a responsive unitgo for Alpine, if you’re looking for sound quality and pleasant user interface go for Pioneer, if you’re looking for sound quality and simplicity go for Sony

    I have a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Bighorn. I found that when trying to hook the unit up, my back up camera and steering wheel controls no longer work. We were able to finally find another cable after searching for over a month that worked (another $145) but the steering wheel controls still do not work. Any idea how to get those to work?

      You have to buy module or harness to work with factory amps, steering wheels,etc. Call Sonic Electronics and they can get you the correct module, harness.

    Can this unit be configured to automatically launch Apple CarPlay whenever an iPhone is connected? Or do you have to manually select the CarPlay icon every time?

    • @iSimplifiedTech
      @iSimplifiedTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      By default will automatically launch after the first setup.

    Do you have any plans to review the XAV-9500ES once it's released? I'm cautiously optimistic they allocated some of the BOM cost to a faster CPU rather than audio woo.

      @@iSimplifiedTech I wish they would make an ES model that didn't have that enormous floating screen. If that was $950 I'd buy it on release!

    Would you buy the Sony XAV-AX5600 (in Germany XAV-AX5650 i think) or the Kenwood DMX8020DABS? The glossy optics of the Kenwood bothers me, but the Sony does not offer a wireless Android Auto.

    • @iSimplifiedTech
      @iSimplifiedTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would go with the Kenwood because of the builtin wireless features and more customization like key illumination and possibly bootscreen customization as well. Sony does offer a matte display but tbh for me that’s not a big deal unless you install a glossy screen in a convertible where sun is always hitting the unit.

    is Alpine W650 still the best responsiveness while using Car Play and Android Auto like you mentioned in your Alpine review? it seems like there is a bit of latency in this Sony head unit.

    • @iSimplifiedTech
      @iSimplifiedTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes at the moment, W650 has the best responsiveness.

    Sony didn't developed the slim body to hide the wires, but because the body doesn't need to be big as it doesn't play CDs. 🤦🤦🤦
    I have to stop watching this video at only 1:43 mark. 😂😂😂

      From SONY website: Despite its double-DIN display, the rear chassis is far smaller than conventional double-DIN units. This makes for much easier installation, and leaves plenty of room for cabling and other accessories in the space behind the display.
      Do your research first then come back here and be a smart guy again. If I would be you I would delete that comment, you just embarrassed yourself.
