I have this unit and the display is mostly unreadable in bright sunlight and the screen is also very reflective interfering with readability.

I have a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Bighorn. I found that when trying to hook the unit up, my back up camera and steering wheel controls no longer work. We were able to finally find another cable after searching for over a month that worked (another $145) but the steering wheel controls still do not work. Any idea how to get those to work?

Can I recommend you do a sunlight glare test in the futures for models, as I've heard Sony have glare issues compared to other brands, and that their glare reduction isn't that great. Would be nice to know, because I usually like Sony
That’s true but only because they use glass instead of anti glare, plastic screens. It’s gonna have glare. Honestly you might consider tinting your windows to cut glare.
So I have this unit and it's able to get really bright so I've had zero problems with glare

You can tint the car window and put an anti glare screen protector on the head unit
@miatika yes it does both. It also has a auto dimmer that will dim when ypu turn your lights on

Yeah they have great screens. They are Sonys so the pictures quality is there.

Solder brake wire to the ground (-) and you are OK, bypassed.

Boss tends to have a problem of the bluetooth not always connecting across all their models. When this happens you have to turn the car off and turn it back on, which when ur doing a few times during the week can be quite a nuisance

Hi there, I just ordered this unit for my Nissan altima 2015. Do I need to buy the Steering wheel control in order to be able to use all the controls buttons on my Steering wheel?

Well it be 50 Watts RMS.. But that’s definitely going to be hard to find. Just try to get the lowest powered sub and make sure it’s an important bucks. Hope that helps and thanks for the common glad you’re enjoying the videos

I'm not an audio sound tech lunatic. I'm someone who just upgraded a stereo for first time last year. I had Dasaita. I have the Sony av3200 now and it's LIGHT YEARS better. More responsive touch screen, cleaner fit and even sounding music. I'll never cheap out again lol
Only reason I changed was, two in a row just died out. The picture went in and out. Worked great for 7 months

I noticed that the home screen has Apple CarPlay as the app. Can you change it to Android Drive if your not an Apple user?
It automatically shows android auto, if it detects an android phone.
I have this unit and everything worked great for about a year. The sound kept fading in and out all the sudden, no sound. I checked my amp fuses and all were intact. Any ideas?
What car have you installed it on? Do you have a OEM amp on your car?

i ordered the stinger radio i seen a video on how playing netflix and other streaming apps was possible using the phones internet and then sending it to the screen via mirroring that didnt work neither did grouding the negitive do u sell a radio for jeep jk that isnt washed out looking has the ability to stream apps movies ect and if so can u message me or reply so i can find something please

For iPod just the apple hdmi to lighting cable
For android make sure you get the correct hdmi to usb-c for your phone. If you search hdmi to usb-c for which ever phonr you have on Amazon. Hope that helps

From other videos on it, no. It has a quick start up feature. Straight to home.
Shame the screen is not hinged to flip up so that empty lower DIN space and be accessed and used for storage. It's now just dead space. My truck has a storage bin to fill that space that is very convenient for storing a wireless remote and other small stuff.
I have the same unit and it has issues with the displaying being washed out on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Others have the same issue with the same family of Sony headunits. It can’t be adjusted either and ZERO support from Sony.
What do you mean by the display being washed out?
Any advice on what the biggest difference is between the sony xav 3200 and the 5600? Can't decide if the 5600 is worth the extra money

Lol. Yeah go into your settings on the iPhone and turn off notifications for text messaging. It’s a pain but you would have to turn it on and off each time you get in the car… unless someone else knows how to do and can share..???
for your messages to be there you need to plug your phone to the unit. so if you're not in your car, there wouldn't be any carplay available.

I’d trade all those miscellaneous features for wireless CarPlay. Many car manufacturers are offering it in their latest models and once you get used to not having to take your phone out of your pocket (just like key fobs on newer cars) it’s hard to go back to wired.
Not for 500 bucks you aren't getting Wireless Car Play. Personally, not a big deal as I like to have my phone charged as well.
@@spsanders69 I actually bought two Pioneer DMH-W4660, which have wireless for right at $500, but of course they were open box from BB. What I'm say is the manufacturers could eliminate some of the non desirable options (of course in my opinion) and focus on stuff like wireless. For example, most makers have stopped offering built in navigation because no one uses it anymore - they used AA or CP. I'd gladly swap HDMI ability for wireless and drop the price.
@@cheapme1850 That Pioneer is now $750. I was just about to pay that for a JVC model, KW-M865BW, but last second found it had a resistive screen and I am set on a capacitive screen especially with Car Play, albeit wired.
Funny, I am liking the idea of the HDMI input. I have a dual cable mount already ordered for this Sony I ordered, that will have a USB and the HDMI input in a single outlet on my console. Then my phone will go in my center console on the primary USB connection for the wired CarPlay / charging. Also, this Sony in the video has one of the best FM Sensitivities that I have seen. Most are closer to 10 and some are as high as 15.

I have the dual "nickel" mount in the dash with both USB and HDMI but with wireless, I never use either. I just use a back seat USB with the wire hidden between the seats to charge it when necessary.

Wireless feature come with a higher cost. But with the chip shortage everything is all out of wack. Can’t wait for things to get back to normal.
@@BreakersStereo i agree with you on the chip part, as a user of the AX5000, i can tell you i am done with wired AA, bad cable? you will have a bad time. hit a pothole, disconnects! leave the device in the car, it hands of badly and lets your device sing itself to death. i am done with wired AA time to move foward. will wait he chip shortage out, will just get speakers first insted.

At that price point there are almost no wireless Carplay/Android plus most would use usb when driving more than 10-15 mins to charge their phones anyway

Bought one of these brand new, started acting up just 1 week later. The buttons stopped working, it would fast forward the music without pressing any buttons. Had to send it back for a refund. Complete trash!
