  • A heart-warming video of two magnificent ex-circus lions who were successfully rescued from Bulgaria and are now thriving in their new South African home.
    Eight-year-old brothers Jora and Black made international headlines when they were rescued by Born Free in partnership with Four Paws from a beast wagon in Bulgaria just over three months ago. Thanks to generous public support, Born Free transported Jora and Black 10,500 miles via the UK to a new life at Born Free's Big Cat Rescue Centre within the award-winning Shamwari Game Reserve, near Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
    The video, made available for the first time today, reveals how Born Free successfully rescued the lions, and shows the emotional moment the brothers were released from their travelling crates and stepped out onto African soil for the first time.

    The best part is when they first step out, onto the grass, and realise that their home is no longer the tiny prison they had become accustomed to. They look so excited and happy. The tears, happy ones, begin to flow!! Thank you, Born Free, for now they get to live free.....well as close to free as possible.

      _"The best part is when they first step out, onto the grass, and..."_
      It was indeed, so I was a little irked that the video kept cutting away to some geezer talking at that point. For all the buildup we see far too little of the Lions reacting at that important moment..

    I cry everytime I watch one of these rescues. Such a shame there is a need for such rescues, but thank God there are people dedicated to carry them out. Its a disgrace what some do to such amazing animals, but it restores faith in the human spirit to see the true love in these people for abused animals.

    Great. I'm glad the sanctuary is a controlled enclosure. I was worried they would be released into an open sanctuary, like the one Cecil was in. These are necessary, otherwise they might be lured off the sanctuary to be hunted and shot by some stinking, rich-ass, American trophy hunter.
    That's exactly what Walter Palmer did last year when he killed Cecil. He paid $50,000 to do it, too, so he must have had some money. There's a whole organization devoted to killing endangered and exotic animals. They have "requirements" of killing "x" amount of each type of animal.
    So we must continue to work to save these animals... from man.

    • @dmissu2
      @dmissu2 8 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      +Marige OBrien Agreed! That rich-ass American was a dentist and I sincerely hope his life is ruined!! "In June 2015, Walter Palmer, an American dentist and recreational game hunter from Minnesota, reportedly paid US$50,000 to a professional hunter / guide, Theo Bronkhorst"

    • @marigeobrien
      @marigeobrien 8 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Denine Mishoe Oh, yes, I followed that story, too. The only good it served was to shine a light on a very dark part of America: those that still safari hunt. They should all be ashamed.

      Marige OBrien It should be illegal for anyone to pay money to go someplace to simply kill an animal for a trophy' People doing this should be put in jail. Let them find out what life inside a cage is like.

    • @peteandrepete528
      @peteandrepete528 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If you think it's only Americans doing these safaris then you're on dope.People from all over the world go there. Since it's legal where people go to hunt your fight should be with the government of that country for allowing it.

    It's a shame how mankind think that they supposed to rule animals. I'm looking at these animals in these cages and they look so sad. How would mankind like to be caged up put in the circus and to Be Tamed. That's what's wrong with mankind today everything he puts his hands he on he destroys don't care what it is. Who give them the right to rule anything or anybody. Those animals when they got into that enclosure they couldn't believe what they were feeling under their feet and I look at this video and I'm happy for them because they are in their natural habitat. Thank God for the people who rescue them because if they didn't they would have died an untimely death. We need to do away with zoos and circuses. Maybe mankind should be destroyed and let the animals roam the Earth because they have more damn sense than humans.
