BEFORE DOING THIS --- if you hold down the first and third buttons like this video shows, it will erase ALL codes currently programmed. If you are trying to program a new garage door/gate without erasing any existing codes, just press and release the button on the visor of the one you are trying to program (with ignition on but engine off) and then hold down your remote handheld garage door opener's button until the Homelink light flashes very fast or is on continuously.
I learned this the hard way - I followed these instructions to program my middle button, but realized my left button had been erased, so I had to reprogram it. I could have avoided that by just programming the middle button directly without holding down buttons 1 and 3, which inadvertently erased my existing code.
To be fair, he does say on the video to do this if you’re getting the car used, in case there are pre-programmed buttons you want to clear. But it’s good to mention in case anyone missed it. :)
Not working in my 2012 Mustang GT - tried this video, the manual, and the Car2U site and I have a liftmaster door with rotating code.

Mine doesnt connect. Just keeps blinking steadily. Im in europe so maybe the frequency for the opener isnt the same as the one on the car

Hey Alex! I have a 2013 so i think we might have same generation. Did you just follow the steps from the video? I had mine setup with an older chamberlain opener working fine for years but then i moved and got new chamberlain with myQ. Is yours an old chamberlain model or new one with wifi?

What’s the point if you already have a garage door opener? What if you don’t have a garage door opener? How do you set it up then?
Maybe if you have two cars and you don’t have to buy a second remote. Or maybe you don’t have to worry about batteries going dead. Or maybe you don’t like an extra device attached to your sun visor . For me , all of them .
