That fire wall panel was such a pain lolol. Then the heat protection one to! So annoying once you remove that you have so much space.. Im selling my a7 tdi to get a Q7 with the same deletes, and Im gonna upgrade the turbo as well Darkside is the way to go always! With tunezilla! No issues over here! 158k miles and going
mines been doing it since y'alls started but i have 218k now so around 120k miles of rattle. dealer said it would take soe kind of an impact for the chain to break. also quoted a $16k relube for the engine
Question for you, when replacing the DPF muffler with the DPF delete pipe, for the pressure sensor rubber vacuum lines (2), did you plugged them or removed them completely from the vehicle?
When i work on my Audi I always remove the hood props and with the help of a hook and some straps I can keep the hood open at 90° and have the props out of the way...
Can you keep the primary cat and just delete the dpf/scr? I want to keep the smell down as much as possible. What are the advantages of deleting the primary?
Yes you can - deleting the primary just allows for better flow, it’s not necessary, and I’m not sure if it’ll keep the smell down much more but it’ll save you money if you keep it unless you can someone get a good recycling price for it!
Wow this is exactly what i am gonna do with my q7 tdi. Im in Vancouver as well. But mine has freaking oil leak from rear seal and have to get this fixed before I do the delete. Did yours have any oil leak from between the engine and transmission?
Likely not, deletes done by companies who don’t fudge the numbers can’t pass emissions and aren’t designed to, so you just have to play at your own risk
Im in North Carolina. It depends on the state/county. Diesels arent emission tested here (state law) and some counties dont do emissions test at all.(Gas or diesel) Generally the south is more lax and places like new york or cali are more strict. its best to look up state dmv laws and if your county does emission test or just the regular safety inspection.
Just bought a 2014 Q7 TDI with 104k miles. I now smell diesel like odor after engine warms up. No check engine light, no hissing or anything at injectors. Did a VCDS scan and in the history I have a p2459, p24C7, and p24AF codes. Rather than trying to “fix” what could be causing the smell, would I be better off doing deletes? Newbie to this, looking for reliability and longevity.,. Recommendations on where to start?
Is it necessary or advisable to also do the Primary and/or Secondary CAT Delete? I was just thing of the Diesel Particulate Filter Delete and ECU Tunes Stage 1? THANKS
Yeah mine is tuned in the new Tunezilla Stage 2.5, it is more aggressive for performance so likely just without any actual load it puffs a tiny bit of smoke to spool the turbo faster - stage 2 or lower shouldn’t be a problem
why would anyone want to inject def into a straight pipe? I know yours is turned off and your just capping the bung, but what is the purpose of the bung being on that pipe?
The bung for the injector is post DPF, so you could technically have emissions intact with everything else behind it straight piped - not sure why anyone would do that but still haha
@ first time I’ve ever seen 1 of ur videos. I have a 2014 VW Passat tdi and was trying to find good sounding exhausts to install. I wanted to do a raw tek but I tried ordering today and they don’t ship to the US I guess so now I gotta find something different.
Hey! Came for the CJAA build, saw this and thought I'd give you the view, subscribe and like... Literally, my thought process! But, I have one question, simply bc I had to pause the video, cause I was laughing at my own thought. I live in Rural Kansas, close to Topeka... Cops dont care about our exhaust, so long as it isn't stupid loud, let alone emissions. It's not regulated, no one cares. But, I was pulled over once, bc he was curious and had a VW... Ha! So, I was laughing, bc we all have those stories... Do you have one? Or, has anyone ever asked if you were a Trooper, bc you kind of have a Trooper stash, as we would call it. (And, please... Don't take that the wrong way, it is not a dig or a dis or ANY type of comment on your mustache, or personal preference on facial hair... Just an observation, and a simple nod at the irony.) I'd love a video or a short on that, I love to hear "I got pulled over by a cop for my exhaust!" Stories.
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been pulled over by a happy cop here in Canada, let alone leading into a “hey I like your car” conversation. Unfortunately where I live the cops take their jobs too seriously 🫠
@@ThatGuyTyy your timing chains call to be replaced, including tensioners a sliding rails. Do it before it turns into the catastrophic engine damage. Believe me, rattling noise after start up is not normal for any engine with timing chains.
@@ThatGuyTyy it is bullshit that rattling noise is characteristic if 3.0 CRNB, if your dealer told you something like this, they should come to Germany for training. It is obvious your tensioners are worn out, there are two tensioners only, and the worn out tensioner is always the one for the long chain. Worn on tensioner means the tensioner is not able to hold the oil pressure in once the engine is off, it means tensioner is leaking and this is the reason for rattling because tensioner does not have the oil pressure in to keep the chain tension, that's it. In Europe, replacing timing kit is very often job. Once the phase is out of spec, it's game over. By the way, I do have the same Q7 with the same engine and no rattling noise at start up, even after sitting of week without any start.
You don't change the filter every time you change the oil 😂. Not sure you should be giving any advise on what oild to use if you don't change the filter every time.
That’s like changing only 1 side of brakes 😂. I’ve seen ppl do it because they was too lazy or thought they would save money…. Your already there just do em

Hehe, 20:37 gotta love that cold start rattle. (mine's been doing it for 20k miles now with no noticeable change in noise 15' Q7 CNRB @ 125k mi.)
mines been doing it since y'alls started but i have 218k now so around 120k miles of rattle. dealer said it would take soe kind of an impact for the chain to break. also quoted a $16k relube for the engine
Great vid man looking forward to doing this to mine!

Hi, can you share the link on how to empty Adblue from the tank after your tune, pls?
Great job man!
Did you tune the car before starting it to hear it straight piped? Or was that something you did at the very end?
Is this still working
Wow this is exactly what i am gonna do with my q7 tdi. Im in Vancouver as well. But mine has freaking oil leak from rear seal and have to get this fixed before I do the delete. Did yours have any oil leak from between the engine and transmission?
Mine did not, hopefully not your rear main as that’s gonna be engine out, but if it is do the tensioners with the updated versions as well
Tensioners? as in serpentine belt.
Haven't heard any issues? with them mine has 160k
That's pretty good even if it went.
Nope timing chain tensioners are a common source of start up rattle on the 3.0
Did you have to tune the TDI after the delete? Or is this just straight forward remove amd replace
Have to tune after
Hi Ty can you show me a photo of a Darkside Secondary Cat without Resonator so I can see what it looks like without resonator for the q7 3.0 TDI
Should be on their website
I i did this and my ci have done the deletion kit and stage 2 tuning and now i have a vehicle i cannot drive
What are the benefits of the Delete? Can the car pas inspection in the states?
Likely not, deletes done by companies who don’t fudge the numbers can’t pass emissions and aren’t designed to, so you just have to play at your own risk

Egr leak is most common if start there
Look at the exhaust pipes and see if there is spot present. If so there is an exhaust leak.
guarantee you just need to seal the injectors! there is copper washer that melts. pull injector out and check. base will look covered in oil
Is it necessary or advisable to also do the Primary and/or Secondary CAT Delete? I was just thing of the Diesel Particulate Filter Delete and ECU Tunes Stage 1? THANKS
Not necessary at all!! I only did it because it just keeps things simple, better flow and less heat
Where in BC are you. We were in Cloverdale but sold and moved to Shuswap lake.
Vancouver!
I want to do this to my q7 but want to know what the advantages are?
Fuel economy, power, reliability and boosty noises
Where is the drive Sound?
Will this work on a Touareg TDI?
Yes!
If only we could legally do DPF deletes in the UK!
The laws over there are so stiff I feel for you guys !
I wonder if it can be tuned with no smoke
Yeah mine is tuned in the new Tunezilla Stage 2.5, it is more aggressive for performance so likely just without any actual load it puffs a tiny bit of smoke to spool the turbo faster - stage 2 or lower shouldn’t be a problem

Could you help me find the part and everything you changed? Deleting your 3.0 TDI - Darkside Full Delete Kit Install!
All linked in the description mate
Link just goes to darkside site, not to a product.
Can't even fi d the link now.
4:11 that’s what she said….. 😂😂
I’m glad people are starting to pick up on these 😭 been dropping em in for a while 💀

Do you hear your chain ??
CNRB’s all do this at start up, chain tensioner is oil pressure driven
@@ThatGuyTyy your timing chains call to be replaced, including tensioners a sliding rails. Do it before it turns into the catastrophic engine damage. Believe me, rattling noise after start up is not normal for any engine with timing chains.
