My buddy and I played the Isengard level a couple of months ago. At the end we baited Saruman out of the tower to see if the AI ents would pick him up and throw him. They did not, in fact he murdered like 70 of our guys (ents included) before we got bored and killed him ourselves.

Could probably include Boudicca or Vercingetorix for one of the alternate campaigns against the Romans. Probably should have a side campaign in Judea too, then you can play as Jesus in the later part and get the game banned in certain countries for blasphemy.

I loved this game. I was responsible for discovering several popular out-of-bound glitches, with my most cherished accomplishment being at the black gate. Spam a move that pushes you forward (easiest with Legolas's shield surf or a warrior rush, with you needing to be attacked to glitch in if other class). You want to press your character's body into the pointed metal triangles just beside the gate in the nearby rockside.
0:26 the first movie was not apart of the War of The Ring. The first battle of this war was Helm’s Deep as all the other things we see are ambushes and raids. The Battle of Isengard happens at the same time. The Battle of Osgiliath is the third and at a similar time Aragorn and the army of the undead defeats the Corsairs in the South. The battle of Pelenor Fields happens as Aragorn sails north on the stolen Corsair ships. Rohan intervenes but the Battle of Pelenor Fields doesn’t end in victory for the good guys until Aragorn arrives. As the bloody Battle of Pelenor fields goes on Sauron send a massive legion of Easterlings to fight in the Battle for Erebor or The Lonely Mountain. Lastly we have the last gathering of men only counting to maybe below a thousand fighting at the climax that was The Battle of the Black Gate which happens right as Frodo and Sam made it to Mount Doom and the ring was destroyed by a clumsy Gollum.
@@avrace2708 This is true. Many village raids were conducted against Rohan, but we never SEE a true full scale battle until Helms Deep. There are also other skirmishes such as everything going on at Gondor’s borders. But as I said we don’t see these things making the first true induction of the War of the Ring from the POV of our characters being Helm’s Deep. Especially in the movies we don’t see any battles in Rohan just Orcs burning down villages. Looking back at this comment I was still wrong though. The War of Ring really started way far back in Gondor, but the point stands that things escalate after Helms Deep.
I already wonder waht this christmass will bring! I can't tell how many afternoons we waste with this game, so much fun with friends. I remember sniping my buddies from across the map using troll throws. And yes, it was painfull seeing you play.

Holy shit yes, the room where you have to kill orcs to get a sufficient amount of blood was the hardest thing ever.
I found defending the second ring in minas tirith harder than that segment to be fair
I remember using the nazgul to hunt down Frodo and I pegged him in the head with the throwing axe right when he was about to toss the ring. I knocked him off the cliff, which would mean he and the ring fell in to the lava, so lore wise I lost the level 😆. Gameplay wise I won.
Lost but not forgotten
I will forever remember this as an amazing game
local multiplayer was the gold
The day oboe said “bussin” was the day my soul left my body
This was like my favorite game back in the day bro, so underrated: deserves a remaster
I played this game to death with my brothers as a teenager. Definitely a flawed game, but it’ll always hold a special place in my cold, dead heart.
I used to play this all the time when I was a kid.
My buddy and I played the Isengard level a couple of months ago. At the end we baited Saruman out of the tower to see if the AI ents would pick him up and throw him.
They did not, in fact he murdered like 70 of our guys (ents included) before we got bored and killed him ourselves.
I never forgot this game. I used to play this all the time with my friends in high school. It was so funny watching them pilot legendary heroes only to instantly get killed by my rogue.
“Forgotten“
I literally played this just a few days ago and it always was kind of one of my favorite LOTR games
**Legolas runs in to an oliphaunt's leg and fucking dies**
That still only counts as one!
This was such a fun game to play on Xbox Live. I used to know how to get out of all the maps and explore the outer boundaries. You could use a warrior and if you did an air attack just right you could enter whole new sections of Minas Tirth that were not normally accessible.
same with the mage lmao
This was my favorite LOTR game that I'd played.
Yeah, it's technically not as good as some of the others, but man, it was just way too fun for me
I hope one day they make an Ancient Rome themed game like this
Lol who would all the hero characters be?
+Helix Moss
Plenty to choose from during the civil war. Caesar, Pompey, Mark Antony, Cleopatra maybe. Could probably include Boudicca or Vercingetorix for one of the alternate campaigns against the Romans.
I'd actually really like to play as Alaric or someone while sacking Rome with the Germanic tribes too, that'd be cool. Probably should have a side campaign in Judea too, then you can play as Jesus in the later part and get the game banned in certain countries for blasphemy.
@@redeye4516 - Damn, you got it all figured out!
Dynasty Warriors, Roman edition. Really, I think anything can be turned into a musou-esque game with enough time and effort.
Man Mount and Blade can really do the trick with a proper mod
Thanks for ruploading this Video, for a long time I believed, that this Game would not exist and it was all a fever dream I had.
Frodo had some 10/10 AI. Exactly like the film. I could barely tell the difference from the real thing.
I was playing this a couple days ago no joke. I do really wish there was a remake of this game that fixed the balance issues
Ah, so much potential, so many EA decisions.
You think the devs went "bah why do we need AI that can drive the elephants?"
Nah that was EA.
I remember playing this against all my friend in split screen and then playing solo I loved playing as that specific type of troll with the armor on lol
I assumed this was hyperbole, but it's like literally just BF2 in LoTR. Can't believe I didn't remember this game
the intro was gold and it's 2x funnier when you know that both saruman and count dooku were played by christopher lee
I LOVED this game. I remember playing it when I was very little. Never knew how to do the multiplayer options, thus never could play so. However I had great fun playing with the AI. About a year ago, I revisited the game and completed both Good and Evil campaigns. 10/10
I PLAYED THIS ALL THE TIME WITH MY FRIEND. Good campaign is not as fun, but in the mines of moria you can watch everyone "Rally at THE STAIRS!" Only to push each other off and jump to their dooms. Sad music and everything plays its amazing.
Also, makes were so op and out of place I loved it. Rogues too! Ever seen sauroman or Gandalf just get decked by a dude with a dagger? It's amazing.
This man really didn't use any powers for so long. Legendary YT Plays. Love it.
I never forgot this game. It was so epic. Such a cool concept.
Last I checked my mate and I had the world record for the evil campaign on co-op. Sadly it's not official as we didn't record it but we were just messing around and beat it by a fair amount
2009: Wow what a great game! I wonder what we'll get in the future!
2023: Here's a game about Gollum lmao
This was kinda cool, i remember seeing gameplay for the game as a kid and some years later i saw it on sale. Played it all the time up until Shadow of Mordor came out lol
I never forgot this game, whenever I think of a LOTR game I think of this. This is how a LOTR game should be!
I remember the multiplayer beta being one of the top 5 gaming experiences ive ever had
In books there were tens of big battles of Rohan and Isengard before Helms Deep
@@avrace2708 This is true. Many village raids were conducted against Rohan, but we never SEE a true full scale battle until Helms Deep. There are also other skirmishes such as everything going on at Gondor’s borders. But as I said we don’t see these things making the first true induction of the War of the Ring from the POV of our characters being Helm’s Deep. Especially in the movies we don’t see any battles in Rohan just Orcs burning down villages.
Looking back at this comment I was still wrong though. The War of Ring really started way far back in Gondor, but the point stands that things escalate after Helms Deep.
"Mom can we get shadow of war"
"No we have shadow of war at home"
🤣
I remember running all the way through both campaigns in one night with my friends back in the day. Good memories.
As a Conquest veteran, glad this has been acknowledged
Just coz you just found it out, doesn't mean it was forgotten...
3:50 knowing the lore of Balrogs that actually is a fair rematch.
I have been wanting this to be backwards compatible for so long. Thank you for bringing some attention to this wonderful relic!
This game legit is one of my favorite and most played games of all time: it was my friend groups go to local multiplayer game.
Having just played MW2 again a few weeks ago, this reference was funny as hell.
Love how he was like, this is hard, and wasn't using any of his abilities in the first level
Me and my best friend would play this all the time when we were younger, I’m so glad to see this video pop into my feed
I adored this game when I was younger.
I love this game. It has some serious balancing issues, but it's still fun.
It's not forgotten! I loved this game throughout my whole childhood. I would do anything to get this game again
Playing as Aragorn makes this look like a prototype of Shadow of Mordor lol
This really was how Rings of Power handled the lore isn't it...
I already wonder waht this christmass will bring!
I can't tell how many afternoons we waste with this game, so much fun with friends. I remember sniping my buddies from across the map using troll throws.
And yes, it was painfull seeing you play.
I wouldn't mind a remake or remaster of this but only have single player, as a single player it was awesome.
It'd need to have multi-player. Couch-split screen. All of my fond memories were my siblings and I goofing off. It wouldn't be the same singleplayer alone.
There is going to be one actually. Lord of the rings: Congquest reimagined. Its a fan made game and will be free to download once its done..it has a website and discord server with updates on the progress
Definitely not forgotten, played the absolute shit out of this game back in the day.
I remember playing this game in Walmart on the demo consoles and I was so blown away at the time XD
my brother and I played loads of this on the playstation 3. I'm mostly a pc gamer now, but he still plays it every now and then when he's home. lots of good memories.
