there are some, called Middle Earth : Shadow of Mordor & Shadow of War, pretty good game and story but sadly it's non canon LOTR story

@@Nop3.1 You didn't understand. Many fan projects were stopped by major publishers and were not allowed to be published, otherwise the fan developers would have to pay high fines
There won't be any progress unless the team gets funding. Unreal Engine games may look good but very few of them ever release from Early Access.
@FutaCatto2 They are better off making their own game inspired by the LOTR version. That way they have full control over the IP since they are going through with this project without permission beforehand.

This feels more like a new Lord of the Rings game compared to a Conquest remake/remaster. Personally, I would love to see a remade Conquest with these stellar visuals, updated maps and mechanics, and new heroes. While I'm not saying this is bad, it feels like a strange mix of Conquest and Skyrim. Just go all in on Conquest or all in on an openworld Skyrimesque LotR.

All i want is an Open world sandbox style video game set in the Lord of the Rings universe. You can explore as the story progresses through the ages and choose whether or not to participate in historical battles and encounters. Whether that's standing with the elves and men at the siege of Angmar at the battle of Unnumbered tears. Or standing on the walls of Helms deep preparing to hold off the Hordes of Uruks until help can arrive. Or even spend countless hours in Osgiliath fighting running skirmishes with orks. But the whole time you're doing this, the story is progressing around you, culminating in the beginning of the fourth age when you can write your own story. Probably will never happen but a guy can dream 😒
Don't forget the Shire, I personally just want to live a chill Hobbit life.
probably the best game out there to do that right now is Mount and Blade: Warband.

Oh man i remember playing LOTR conquest back in the day. Was like Battlefront but with medieval fantasy weapons. It was soo good! And you could play as giant monsters. Should definitely get a remake
The graphics and visuals are unreal, the characters voices need major improvement. To the creators, the royal guard of the rohirrm are the hardest fighters of rohan so they need more of an aggressive commanding voice not a friendly dorks lol great game keep up the good work
Yeah the dialogue writing was not good at all. The visuals are fantastic, and I love how they closely stick to the style of the movies. Just wish they would do the same with how people talk and act.

I saw these movies when I was a kid and the detail I’m seeing in Helms Deep is mesmerizing.
Honestly, this is beautiful - please make more for Edoras and Minus Tirath.
I have never heard of this but It makes me happy to know people are going out of their way to Remaster these old games into fully realized Modern Graphics.
I am excited to see the Battles of LOTR with this level of quality.

An open world version of this game would be legendary. As a new addition to the fellowship you can play whatever ending you want.
The work done is incredible, it’s magnificent. Just being able to walk through these settings that seem so real must be a great experience. Games inspired by rich universes such as Lord of the Rings can be a truly immersive and contemplative experience.

Textures look amazing. Animations on npc's look janky and don't match the characters actions. But that can get polished.

This kind of replication is what I've been wanting since forever. Classic games like the old Two Towers/Return of the King and BFME had to put their own spin on it for gameplay reasons obviously.

Imagine the open world rpg, and then you stumble upon this huge army, and you join them walking to the battle. Like you walk for like 5 days time, rest and sleep, like you would in the real world, and then you get to the battle location and you fight to survive. It would be just so crazy.

It could use some volumetric fog in the distance to fade out the foot of the mountain nearby so everything doesn't look crystal clear like it wouldn't in reality.

I used the WW1 mod for Shogun 2 and the Helms Deep map, ran spearmen from Shogun 2 at machine gun emplacements and US Marines... it did not work out well for the simulated "orks"... it was a total slaughter.
The UE5 version of this map is astonishing, I would love to see that battle that I did in Shogun 2 simulated in UE5.

Changing camera lag settings in camera component would help a lot! It would give viewers a better experience when you move your camera quickly like on 3:12

This looks incredible and whoever put the effort into this should be extremely proud.
My ONLY critique is a few problems with the layout of Helms Deep. The stairs leading up behind the Great Wall should lead up to a semi wall where those retreating up the stairway can be defended by archers. This is also the only way into the Hornburg and there should not be an access point at the “top” of the Deeping Wall. This essentially makes Helms Deep a fortress within a fortress, and was how Theoden originally intended to defend it before the Elves arrived in the Two Towers (movie obviously). He did not plan on prioritizing the defense of the Deeping Wall as he did not have the men to do so. Instead, he would have focused on defending the inner rings, even if it meant sacrificing down below. But since the steep stairway up behind the Deeping Wall is the only way to access the inner rings, other than the main gate obviously, it was his best option and might’ve worked longer than most would’ve imagined it to.
The other thing is the access to the tower and the Horn should not have access from outside the Keep. Gimli made the trek up to sound the horn while everyone was inside the keep still, so it should only have access from inside if that makes sense.
Last thing, and I do believe it was a good change up moving the armory into the keep, however it was actually located at the bottom of the 1st ring, down to the right after entering through the main gate. I understand putting it in the keep and all, so it’s not the end of the world, but with how accurate everything felt, to have specific things be SO different sort of irked me. The armory wasn’t a huge deal, but the first two are huge things and change the way Helms Deep is Defended.

You know, this just reminded me. It would be a great idea if we had an open world game based in this universe, but instead of playing as a story main character you play a Lone Ranger or horse rider that’s tasked with investigating reports of ork activity across the land. This means you get to explore the world and even occasionally meet some of the main characters in the journey. You also play part in the main events after being called forth.
This game now looks like in my head when I was playing it
