i remember playing this back in 2010 and during the razing of the shire i remember playing as Sauron, charging across one of the bridges to fight Gandalf and getting fucking snatched up by one of the Eagles it was...anticlimactic
I remember one time when I was playing Conquest Mode with my sister, she never played the Shire Conquest, I wanted to surprise her with the evil hero as I did play it before. So there she was in her sniping spot on the hill south of the Green Dragon over looking the whole area. I kept to the south most part of the map, hoping she wouldn't see me until the last minute. I was playing as the Balrog at the time. I got to the bridge, I powered up and planned to run up the hill. I did and learned that the Balrog was to big for the fence and got stuck. The tiny hobbit archer proceeded to shoot arrows at me, ironically she killed me with a fire arrow. It was so anti climactic.
Cyan please never change. Keep playing the games that you love and doing stuff like this. I'm in love with your content and the nostalgia hits are real. Keep doing what you do with content you like and not following a trend.
The gd backstab and then immediate cut to Aragorn's tomb at 13:45 had my WHEEZING. That shit was a 10/10 edit. The quotes/puns throughout this video was quality. This game truly makes you feel like a Lord of the Rings: Conquest.
Used to love this game in splitscreen. The Scout being seen as a WMD where everyone starts panicking when someone declares "Its come to this!" and suddenly a misty bastard with knives is running around hunting down heroes like they owe him lunch money
No no... The most hilarious memory was me playing as Sauron for the first time in 1v1 with my friend and feeling like an utter badass slaughtering everything... Only to be backstabbed and going "Nooooo!" It was hilarious.
2:25 "...the backstab, which can instant-kill any human sized enemy in the game..." Tell that to Sauron, the dark lord, as a todler sized Frodo bends him backwards like a pool noodle and slits his throat. Damm this game is silly as an adaptation but it was so much fun with friends.
this is by far my favourite lord of the rings game and it got no love despite being by the same guys who did battlefront 2 real shame absolute staple of my school days getting home playing halo, fable and lotr conquest
I mean, I want to be clear on this. My friends and I used to do duels in BF2 so when I got this game we continued to Duel and I played the rogue because I was already infamous in the group for being really annoying with invisibility. I spent the entire match doing a pseudo Peter Griffin cover of the Lord of the Rings theme that I would make louder and more epic whenever I did a backstab successfullly and then make really quiet again when I went invisible again... My friends decided to stop this game specifically with me afterwards.... I don't know if I have any regrets.
I don't know what I like more about your content. The unhinged sense of humor, the classic and cherished games being given the spotlight again, or the actually very solid voice acting
Cyan voice acting for some these characters is actually really great. If the next LotR game or show doesn't hire Cyan to voice a character I'd be shocked.
This what I loved about older video games. Occasionally one would come out, your reaction would be “ooo, that looks pretty nifty” then once you’re in it goes completely off the rails in the best way possible. I think the last game I played like that was just cause 3
16:47 alright, alright... I watched this video on a whim, from a channel I've never checked out before, but after this bit I just have to subscribe lmao
I played this game non-stop offline for a solid year or so and then for a few weeks every year since I bought my 360 in 2010. It’s simplicity yet diversity in playable characters and storylines just gripped me. It’ll never not be my favourite game!
This game is actually GOATED. I also used to play this every single day until my PS3 shit itself. I was so upset to learn this game isnt backwards compatible. It needs to be bro I would never stop playing it.
War to the North is better but, couch co-op on this was absolutely incredible. My best friend has been pretty much informally adopted as a brother because of the sheer amount of weekends spent at each other’s homes. Our parents would ask us on Wednesday who was going to be at the other’s place for the weekend. 😂 We would meet up during youth and plan on which co-op campaign we would stay up all night Friday beating. This game was always a great contender. We would play through the good campaign, switch to Call of Duty World at War’s American Campaign. The next weekend would be us throwing hobbits around The Shire as a troll before switching over to Dynasty Warriors 7. We’re both in our late twenties and when I came back home from deployment, he drove nine hours to play this and War to the North with me while taking shots every time we died before rewatching the entire Director’s Cuts of Lord of the Rings. I absolutely adore this game and the sheer amount of time well spent with the best friend I’ve ever had.
Just found this video. Loved this game. Got it for super cheap like a year after it came out. I remembered enjoying it, but online was already pretty dead. However, I played couch co-op with friends. My fondest memory was when we were fighting on Moria as the orcs and my friend died, but before he respawned the camera tracked his killer and the camera catches my fat orc mage charging in beating the guy to death while I was screaming "REVENGE! REVENGE! REVENGE!"
Your videos are so entertaining and fun to watch and this one was no exception. I've been waiting for a franchise follow-up to the one of "The Return of the King", which is the first of yours I watched. Kudos, Braydon.
Your impressions are so good for LOTR characters, have you considered playing the Two Towers game (sorry don't know if you have already), I love these LOTR videos!
Dude i loved and played the hell out of this game. Glad to find so many other people that actually enjoyed it as well. Love the voice overs you do for the characters as well 10/10 they had me dying 😂. Never change cyan
I had so much fun playing this game back in the day. Didn't expect to ever see new youtube videos made about it, but it really brings back some good memories. The evil campaign is awesome.
This video hit me in the hardcore nostalgia. I had this game and it was one of my favorite games. I occasionally think of this masterpiece in the most random of times. So this video. Brought a huge smile to my face
I just stumbled onto this video because I was thinking of Lotr: Conquest. I have to say, I do not think I have ever laughed out loud as much as I did at a TH-cam video. Thank you for this video, I am genuinely excited to take a look at more of your content. Your video made my day.
I'll never forget, I was playing through both campaigns with a buddy when this first came out and during the Shire mission I was so hyped to get to play as Sauron for the first time and before I even got to use him, as I was crossing one of those bridges off spawn, a great eagle swooped down and and one tapped me and that was that.
I’ve been looking for this game for so long! I remembered playing it as a kid but could never for the life of me remember what it was called. So glad this showed up on my feed!
I remember staying up with my friends for a entire night fighting each other in some farm lands. Great game, honestly forgot about it until I randomly got this video recommended.
The voice acting is some of the best i ever heard on YT daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn :D + thanks you for reminding me of this gem, i should play it again after all these years Nostalgia hits hard
i remember it like it was yesterday, i was in 8th grade and i was suppose to go to my friends house for a few hours and play this game, then ended up staying from Thursday to Monday just playing through the whole thing. just listening to music drinking monsters and chatting with girls. man i miss the 2000s.
Cyan: "The evil campaign gets sad and depressing."
Cyan: *Backstabs a hobbit and cackles*
Yeah 😂
Absolutely XD "This is awful to imagine happening! I'm gonna play it again, that was awesome."
>Playing the last level
>Would you like to play as Sauron?
>Hell yeah
>Crossing the bridge
>Get sniped by an eagle
Pretty sure I got killed by an assassin type at near full health
I was gonna comment that. Nice i was not the only one
@@poorguy2839 we stand with you brother
No one crosses their first bridge XD
Classic
One Scout to rule them all, One Scout to find them,
One Scout to bring them all and in the backstab bind them.
I practiced this in Théoden's Court!
Voices were so on point that I want a DBZA but Cyan doing all of the LOTR trilogy
Same. I'm loosing my mind rn.
saruman was definitely palpatine
Let’s petition
Dude craaazy voice acting. Also, the edit at 14:28 😂
Haha thanks brother! Means a lot :)

I did the same thing. Except I tried to wade across the river.
I swear it happens everytime lol. Now I wait a few moments after selecting before trying to cross 😆
I loved this game and the Xbox RTS Games those were fun
Okay, that Uruk rendition of "Blunt the Knives" was incredible
Knife, like, KNIFE EAR?!
Indeed.
I'd really love to hear a full version

Sauron's true greatest foe is crossing that Shire bridge.

Ironically Sauron got flown by the eagles

Or even just a default scout - stealing isildur's spotlight altogether 🤣
This game was also a big part of my childhood, thanks for the massive nostalgia trip
Dude playing as Sauron was the coolest thing I have ever done in this game. He literally pushes peoples souls out of their bodies. Hes such a badass.

What in the world! I played the heck out of this game when I was a kid. How did i not appreciate this masterpiece right here? I forgot all of this.
The "you've been doxxed sauron" had me roaring! a modern day telling.

Cyan, I hate being critical of other people’s work.. but can you lower the quality of your vids a bit? It makes it unfair for everyone else.

That Orc Scout should have replaced Sauron, he was too OP xD
