@@miikaelkaup811 The author doesn’t have to listen to their fans all the time. I personally thought Lisanna coming back was kinda pointless, especially when she wasn’t given anything to do. Her death was pivotal to how Elfman and Mirajane are the way they were when they were introduced. Honestly, she felt more symbolic that way.
You’re right, she did kind of get tossed to the side. I really like your fix for her! Especially going from “the girl who quit” to “the girl who refused to quit.”
Glad you liked it because I really enjoyed writing it. We'd care a lot more about her imo
Lisanna was set up to be Natsu's tragic lost love and when she was revealed to be alive, I thought Mashima would go somewhere with their relationship and make her a main character but no she was just brought back for emotional shock value and ended up being relegated to an irrelevant side character all because he wanted to maintain the dynamic of Natsu and Lucy which makes me wish he never brought her back

@@gallenberger1 I think your rewrite is good i would add a little more to it like actually making her a member of team Natsu and and have her do things like help Natsu control his end powers rather than destroy his book because considering etherious powers are similar to her families Take over magic

i think the probem was that hiro mashima never actually intended to bring her back he was pressured by his staff or something thats why she ended up becoming useless she was always meant to be used as the tragic dead first love for natsu but i do agree that her character was a lost opportunity

Was she really his first love? According to other sources, all of their moments between them was anime only.

I like this. I ended up falling off Fairy Tail as a whole, but the first major thing I remember feeling off was how the show treated Lisanna. She was so important to Natsu and then when she came back she was just... there. Made it really feel like anything can become unimportant at the drop of a hat, so why should I bother caring? I almost certainly would have stuck around longer with treatment like this, maybe might have even stuck out until the end, who knows.
@WolforNuva It sucks because right after she comes back they have all the best arcs...but she's not important to them
Wow that was the exact moment i started seeing the cracks in FT the flaws. Lisanna was so well loved before. But after her arrival.... yeah she became a side character. NALI wouldve been awesome.
What's worse is that the small moment with natsu and lisanna before the tenrou island arc begins was adorable. And then it turned to sxxt.
I just had a really funny thought, because of all of Lisanna's contributions over the years, helping Fairy Tail's reputation and winning the games. Imagine if Macao used his position to promote Lisanna into S-Class? It would be so meaningful as she was Fairy Tail's top wizard for years but likely refused promotions or exams out of guilt. Maybe she has an even greater performance during the invasion that he uses as reasoning to promote her.
Also imagine all the envious members? Natsu would be pouting so hard.
Her ultimate move could be her becoming a Chimera. While she's fighting Sting, the crowd could be like "she like a demon or beast" or something and compare her to her siblings.

That would be awesome. Specifically, didn't want to go in depth on that because I figured people here would have cool ideas for what that could be.

OH MY GOODNESS THIS WAS SO CREATIVE imo one of fairy tail's biggest problems is introducing compelling characters and forgetting about them as the series goes on. it's such a waste, and lisanna is probably the biggest example of this. having her go through an experience that reflects how the other strauss siblings went through without her is so GOOODD. i say that this version of her story would work for her and the strauss siblings full circle in the tartaros arc, fighting and defeating seilah together, family finally together fighting side by side, fear no longer sways lisanna because she stands on solid ground now, never giving in. and seeing that, mira and elfman stand firm on the same foundation, because seeing their littlest sister lead them with perseverance, gives them the fire to NEVER BACK DOWN, NEVER WHAT??

It's certainly possible, frankly something they should've done is made her part of Natsu's team after she returned and also showed ways to develop her magic since it's essentially what Mira and Elfman can do but with more normal animals compared to Beasts or Demons.
That would've been a fun inclusion
@@gallenberger1 She could've even acted as a sort of inbetween for Lucy. That is Lucy is meant to be the straight man of Team Natsu, someone not familar with Fairy Tail's more insane antics, with Lisanna being more tolerant of their nonsense but also knowing when they are going too far.
You know, I wished Lisanna after either the Grand Magic Games or the Tartarus arc pulled a Natsu and gained her own Dragon form because Dragons would fall into her category of Take Over Magic. Specifically that Hell Fire Dragon as a Take Over or Igneel's flames. I would want her to gift Natsu some flames and maybe even contributing in helping him with making use of the END form. Her magic could even have been used as a reference for Lucy rewriting the book
I love the way you re-write these scenarios for FT. Can you please do a video on Sting and Rogue? After the GMG arc, I felt like they became super mundane. It’s clear they were only interesting as antagonists during the GMG arc.

I had the same thought! Her staying back and us seeing her grieve over the loss of her siblings like they did her is the perfect way to start some growth from her! I love all of this, though I would be sad to get less Juvia. But, sacrifices must be made for peak sometimes.

@@gallenberger1 Yeah, she's the one we can cut the easiest. She didn't have super important fights here and didn't have close connections or narrative ties with any opponents. It was the right choice.
@justme22154 Also, she still gets many big moments later, so sidelining her for a bit doesn't hurt her overall. Even so...it still stressed me out 🤣

yeah they did lisanna dirty the way she was portraid in the manga and anime buuut hiro mashima doesnt like her so there is no way it will change lisanna is stuck being the moral support of the guild instead of a real fighter

From what I remember hearing way back there was a well known rumor that Mashima actually had no intention of bringing her back, but one of his editors liked her too much and basically strongarmed him into bringing her back. Story goes that from there Mashima just went "fine she's alive now. Happy?" Used her once or twice and refused to give her any major screentime afterwards. I have no way of authenticating this story, but it was the running rumor and someone claimed the info came from either an interview or short insert in one of the tankoban. He only drew her more recently after a few fans suggested shipping her with Bickslow. And he drew them together seemingly in a way to authenticate their ship.
Honestly, he seems to plan his ships pretty meticulously and Lisanna seemed to throw a wretch into his fun little will they won't they with Nastu and Lucy. Because another girl introduced introduces a sense of urgency. So mashima tossed her in the bin as quick as lightning to avoid any major shipping wars. My theory anyway.

@@gallenberger1She could have true, but her character was written to be pretty annoying from the start. She doesn't have much of her own personality which I think is one of her bigger issues. She's basically just Mirajane. Which you could argue that Mira became more like Lisanna because of the loss but narratively to the readers/watchers Mira came first.
There wasn't much that could be done to really make her likable to the fans that didn't care for her or for Mashima himself it seems.
I personally never cared for Lisanna. I went from feeling sad over her passing to being annoyed by her miraculous survival. Her reunion with her siblings is really well done tho.
I think what you came up with would definitely fix some of her narrative and personality issues. But at the same time I am a Juvia enjoyer and I cannot let go of any screentime my fav water yandere gets. Lol
@lulipop_arts It's pretty much impossible to take out any of the GMG crew well. I chose Juvia because she's least important to the tourney in terms of narrative and opponents. She also has so many more important moments afterwards. Even so I don't feel good about it 😅

I like this. I would also add how she would be a love rival to Lucy due to their connection with Natsu.
The one thing I have a problem with fairy tail is the writing. They are definitely some parts in this series I would rewrite with better dialogue and give some characters like Lisanna better development.

I'm actually working on a little something like this for my own Fairy Tail fanfic. Just the motivation to get to there and make the plot threads believable.

@@gallenberger1 I've set the stage to be just after the Grand Magic Games. Like right as the dragon attack is happening. And I've got a plan set up where Lisanna will be joining up with Natsu's team for a while. Thanks to a group of characters from my own comic ideas.

I think we needed a episode where Lisanna and Lucy talked about Natsu. We know Lisanna still have feelings for him but they were dropped after the end of that arc for no reason other then Natsu/Lucy ship. It felt like Lisanna wasn't supposed to return because all story arcs after that still ran fine even if you took her out. Even Natsu could have went to Gajeel for help about love because of Lisanna return. So much potential was wasted do to having too many characters and not knowing what to do with them.
Definitely. She also needed more agency within the story.
Yo, I love the arc and inversion you gave Lisanna. She was the heart of the guild back in the day, in Edolas, AND during the time skip. That emotional reunion would've hit so hard that it would've been a separate scene in of itself.
I know you're more team Nalu, but I still want her being Natsu and Happy bff to remain at least so I wished you integrated her into some of his scenes.

@@gallenberger1 Exactly, it was so weird how they never hung out or did anything together, really. So Natsu partnering up with Lisanna a few times through the show would've been ideal.
I'd also just like seeing Lisanna Mothering Happy, like embarrassing him in front of Carla or Lillie. Ocassionally talking him into stuff he doesn't want to do, ya know.

She basically only has one episode of importance in Edolas, I wouldn't say that did her justice at all.

Imo she should have stayed dead. I know it's very cold to say. But she unironically contributed more to the story when she was dead.
Natsu, Mirajane and Elfman all benefitted character-wise.
The problem wasn't simply her being retconned back to life, the problem is also that there was no pay off for it.
This isn’t Lisanna hate but I really didn’t see the point in bringing her back. Nothing changed for Natsu’s character, I get it was nice for Mira and Elfman but I feel like the plot would’ve been a lot more solid in her being dead.
Lisanna could have been a love rival to Lucy since they both have a deep connection with Natsu
She definitely was at first, and they teased it during GMG.
When she was brought back I really thought she’d at least assume her role as Natsu‘s very close friend again and show just how much stronger she got. But none of that. I especially don’t understand how she hardly got any stronger, I mean, she was good enough to be let on S-class missions.

@@gallenberger1 I heard of that too, however, my opinion is that as a writer you should try to do the best with the demands you were given under trying to to use them as opportunities. Mashima could’ve used Lisanna and built her up similarly to how you described it (very well done btw) but instead he tried to play it as if it doesn’t matter anymore.

No shade but, If the 7 year time skip was extended a couple of episodes, alot of people would get bored of the side characters, like maybe 1 or two episodes max. Anything more would do more harm than good, and would cause alot of critsim
I've seen people say that, but if we had reason to care about those characters, we would. The reason we don't care about them imo, is because we're never given a reason to.
If it was comes to shipping between NaLu and NaLu, I would say this that why have Natsu pick one when he can have both of them.
The Polyamory ship. For example, NaLuLi (NatsuXLucyXLisanna).

I really wish Lisanna was more important and would be the one to end up with Natsu instead.
Just to be clear, I'm no shipper, I don't ship anyone in FT, if you ship Natsu with Lucy, good for you, I'm just saying that personally I think Lisanna ending up with Natsu makes much more sense. Unfortunately, she isn't a main character so the author immediately pushed her aside after her identity reveal. What a waste of potential. I love the set up but the payoff was extremely underwhelming
