King cobra definitely feels like a player who after not playing for 10 years found out about all these new units and abilities and was like "HOLY CRAP THATS AWESOME" and tries to use them all to their maximum efficiency.
What an absolute mad lad & genius! 1) Shield batteries and photon cannons to prevent any run by. 2) Immortals to counter everyones favourite early game unit: the stalker. 3) A rushed Mothership, prompting the opponent to counter. 4) Proceeds to mass Phoenix to counter the counter. + Even lifts the stalkers to then Purification Nova the crap out of them just to add salt... If this doesn't become a thing in the future, I will be very upset.
Wow! The disruptor shot following the Phoenix lift offs on the Stalkers! So sick, that would hurt emotionally a lot having that done to you. Lowko thanks for the content!

Those mass phoenix with faster attack speed gain advantage while Shadown is ignoring the mass phoenix and keep focusing on carrier. And of course, the lift up and down on top of a light ball of bomb is amazing to see :)
I like how I don't play this game anymore, but people are still at it at its best. And I really enjoy LowkoTV channel for putting this together where its just entertaining to watch. This must be what other people feel when they watch Sports.
I haven't heard about the mothership rush before, so I though it would be like protoss nydys worm. drive the mothership to enemy base and teleport your troops there in a surprise attack.

Was on stream yesterday when you explained why you're doing so and I'm just gonna call it now: there is a chance the optimal time to upload creeps backwards all the way to a -24H state and winds-up at its old spot. That would be quite the 'mission failed successfully' moment right there! :D
Seems like a few High Templars with well placed storms would've crushed the mass Phoenix army and left the Carriers vulnerable. That and, ofc, blinking on top of the Disruptors to cancel their novas when they tried to nuke said Templars.
The actual problem in ShaDoWn gameplay was that he did not pulled drones when KingCobra attacked. He mass expanded, but then he lost everything to a single attack. What is the point of mass expand strategy if you cannot mine uncontested across the map? He still concentrated most of his economy in normal expansions. King Cobra attacked, killed everything in two bases. Then ShaDoWn was left without much of an economy. He was forced to spend time rebuilding his economy rather than units. He then had to build Stalkers which completely could not stand in a direct combat against mass Phenix army. What he needed to do was to pull drones to other bases. Then after a battle he needed to scout what his opponent was going for. After discovering Carrier transition, he needed to continue building mass Tempest. I'm not familiar with what counters mass Phenix. I guess he needed to build his own Phenix army to provide protection for the Tempest. ShaDoWn had this game in a bag. It is only that he made some errors and KingCobra just played better.

Hmmm Mass Phoenix Carrier actually seems like it would be pretty strong in the zerg matchup too. Mass Phoenix should be able to skirmish with corruptors once you get Anion pulse crystals without being threatened by brood lords the way Archons are. Would be interesting to see one of the pros try it out...
My eyes lit up when i saw the late game phoenixes. People always call them early game but im pretty sure they’re pretty good at every stage because they just tear apart anything else that flies. And, as demonstrated, they indeed do that.

I feel like the game is 100% solved from the T perspective in TvZ. I’m sick of seeing the only way Terran can play against Zerg. I definitely want updates to units, even bad ones, just to keep the game changing and alive
Red was smart to instantly slam the eco button, but tempests were the wrong choice, even if it stayed just carriers, why pick a unit you HAVE to heavily outmicro using, when you could easily double his carrier production and then some? Better yet mix and have an army that blue cannot stop.
Here I was hopeing for someone to make a mothership, and fly it across the map, mass recalling immortals into the enemy main... and then nexus recalling them out again. Sounds like it would be hilarious with 4-5 immortals smashing the buildings...
I don't understand why you call this style dirty. How is it any less clean than just winning with high multitasking? Seems to me that it's better strategy vs someone who just plays the common pro style of crazy micro.
I suspect it's because, as Lowko said, he finds it very frustrating to play against. So, yeah, he's a little bit biased, but also yeah, he admits that it's a legitimate strategy.
@@bobnorwal I understand that, but I mostly gave up playing sc2 (after playing since sc1 launched) because even with superior strategy I'd often lose to high apm micro. It's nice to see someone succeed at a high level without having to simultaneously attack and defend all over the map constantly.

Archons have splash and can't be lifted so they counter Phoenixes well. enough.

I think the main takeaway other than +3 phoenix countering tempest, is that stalkers are absolutely aweful after the midgame.
