Formed in Toronto. Moved to Vancouver. Lead singer Mike Reno is from Metro Vancouver.
Managed by Bruce Allen, who manages BTO and Prism. In the late 1970s, Bryan Adams got Bruce Allen to manage him.
In 1983, Bryan Adams wrote Jump with Jim Vallance, MR, PD and drummer Matt Frennette.
Written by Mike Reno and Paul Dean. Produced by Dean and the late Bruce Fairbairn. Engineered by Bob Rock.
    Peak Loverboy! 1980.
They still perform today. Same lineup but Ken Spinnaeve is on bass guitar. Scott Smith was lost at sea in San Francisco Bay. 😢 KS played in a band with Paul Dean in the early 1970s. That band broke up. KS joined Red Rider, where the lead singer was Tom Cochrane.
Suggested video 📹 Loverboy performs Working for the Weekend.
RIP Bruce Fairbairn and Scott Smith. 🇨🇦

Give Brad the opportunity and he will sum up the song swiftly saying its about sewing them oates before sliding in his signature "side to side sway" as Lex perfects her "bounce bop" before proposing her low beat/up beat theory.

80’s musical energy was so fun! I felt the 90’s had a lot of talent but the sound was full of depression in a lot of it. Pearl Jam didn’t add much to a party. 😎

Felt the same way. There was all this angst and negativity in music, yet people were generally doing pretty well in the 90s. Bands like Everclear were so whiny I just wanted to turn it off. 80s music made you want to TURN IT UP!

Hey, guys. Just my $.02. Everybody does their channel their own way but I would really recommend watching the official video (or a live performance as a backup) with the lyrics in front of you. That way, you get the whole experience. I am all about the lyrics too, but to me, it adds so much more to watch a band play and see what they look like/what they wear. But again, that's just my opinion. Keep on keepin' on.
Loverboy was the sh*t back in the early 80's. I highly recommend:
    Take Me To The Top
    Lucky Ones
    Lovin' Every Minute of It
P.S. I can't believe no one reacted to his "pack my bags and FLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY". That note was sick! Peace. Love you both!

After Bryan Adams, Loverboy is the most known 80's band from Vancouver. Their song "Workin for the the Weekend" was famously used in the classic SNL skit where Chris Farely has a dance off with Patrick Swayze (rip both) competing for the dame ChipnDale spot
