Lol, omg Brad's face when hes trying to understand the pickle analogy...PRICELESS...
🤣🤣🤣
Lex always has an off the wall analogy, but after she explains it usually makes sense…this time though…
Lex is lovin' every minute of it! Brad is lovin' _some_ minutes of it.
LOL
This song was written and produced by Mutt Lange and was intended for Def Leppard. Mutt is the brain and genius behind Def and that is why you feel a "Pour Some Sugar On Me" feel to this song.
He was a great Producer.....Then he married Shania Twain LOL
It definitely always had a Def Leppard vibe to me for sure.
How did Loverboy end up recording it instead of DL ?
@@maximelesperance4132 In the liner's note of Loverboy's greatest hits CD (Classics), They talk about wanting a new sound. They say that Mutt gave them this song that was an unused demo for Def Leppard. They all went "Wow!" and proceeded to record it with the then-late gadgetry equipement (1985). They flushed it all down and re-recorded it with their "sound". It gave this great hit. Mutt Lange has such a recognizable sound. Listen to what he wrote for Shania Twain, Heart and Brian Adams and you'll hear some Def Leppard in there. Try "Any Man Of Mine" (Twain) and this is basically "Pour Some Sugar On Me" in country fashion :)
@@magicmike7198 very interesting, thank you!
Loverboy was just plain good old rock and roll.
you guys should have seen all the kids blasting this out of thier car stereos back in the day , yelling the chrous as loud as they can..it was just a fun party rock song to me.
Yessss!!! Loverboy was super great Live too, I seen them in 81' with Scorpions at the Summer Strut!! Awesome live!! You should do When it's over, Everybody's working for the weekends, Kid is hot tonight great songs! Turn me loose was a Favorite song with all of us 80's teens, Cruising the Boulevard was blasting all our rock!! ❤
No doubt. This was a rocker for sure.
And to think, this was the first concert I ever attended, as a 10 year old in 1985. 😂
Were they big in the US? I love them, but always assumed no one had heard them outside of Canada
@@ReneeBishop369 oh yeah they were! In the 80’s their music was blasting from car windows. Like I said, that was my first concert (Heart was the 2nd, a year later.). If I hadn’t already known they were Canadian, I would’ve guessed they were American. (I’m from Arkansas, btw.)
You guys should react to…
Loverboy - Working for the Weekend
🎸🤘
You should really all react to better music
Thank you for the Canadian content. Rock on Brad & Lex
"Take me to the top" is also another very good one of theirs. The intro. to that one is great.
This is what I like to call "Clean" rock, like Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, this group! Very straight forward Rock, not hard rock, not heavy metal! Clean, crisp, Rock!
Also my favorite band scorpions.
Iron Maiden is NWOBHM
Iron Maiden. Clean Rock.. 😂 🤘
I think you nailed the explanation!
You do, of course, understand that Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, and Loverboy are three totally different types of rock music, right? The only commonality is...hmmm...there are guitars and a drum kit. That's it.
Was happy to se y’all got to this one! Always loved it- “when it’s over” and “turn me loose” (which I think y’all have done live) are also favorites of mine!🤘🏼💖💙
Your user name is fantastic,,,,🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
When it's over!! Great
Agreed. Those three song show off Mike Reno’s voice the best. Don’t think he gets the credit he deserves as to how great of a “rock” voice he has.
1985 My senior year our football team made it to state final game. This song was played on every bus trip and pregame to pump us up. Oh the memories!
🤣 Lex always has a description that completely boggles my mind of a song, but when I think about it, it's crazy but right.
Lex was in a pickle over the description....but she ALWAYS wins in the end.
Hey what's up guys! Greetings from South Florida! Another Great Canadian band from the 80s. Check out working for the weekend. You guys rock! God bless you! Peace!
They do turn me loose already?
My favorite loverboy song is ,"WHEN IT'S OVER
"The Kid Is Hot Tonight" and "Workin' For the Weekend" were two that caught my ear, from LoverBoy. Both of 'em very catchy!
Do these!!
The singer for Loverboy is Mike Reno..There is a great song done with him and HEART's Ann Wilson called "Almost Paradise" from the 1984 movie "Footloose" If you get a chance do a reaction to it..I think you'll like it..Its a great song....
The ole tickle pickle!!!! The look on your face when she said her pickle stuff was the best part of the whole reaction.
Yooooo I almost died on the treadmill!!!!! That ending! He sounds like a guy who loves pickles!!! Died!
This is one you’re going to have to watch the official video for. It is truly worth the five minutes it takes and I guarantee you have not seen a video like it.
Paul Dean, the guitarist, is extremely underrated.
"Ain't Looking For Love", "Turn Me Lose" and "This Could Be The Night" are ok too.
You have found a vein of 70's and 80's Canadian rock recently. Keep on finding them. Try Prism, Streetheart, Stampeders, Trooper
This reminds me of summer in the mid 80s! Great reaction!
Lex kills me with her analysis, I normally have the same look on my face that Brad does
Was just thinking that lol. Her analogies kill me sometimes 😂😂
I can never get enough of this song. Thanks, Canada.
These guys put on a great concert back in the day , saw them on the Loving Every Minute of it tour in '86 or '87 .
They were one of the great Canadian acts of that era .
She fits in this time period!
You too were meant for one another! I can see the love you two have for each other in every video! Love your reactions too! You two treat each other right and I wish you a long, healthy, prosperous life! 😊
I also recommend Take Me To The Top. LOVE me some Loverboy. I love 70s/80s rock!
I keep waiting for someone to react to "Take Me to the Top." It needs to get on people's radars.
"like Frankie goes to Hollywood?" " That's a little too relaxed!" 🤣🤣🤣
You guys are awesome!
This song embodies the energy of pickles. Lol, Love it! Lex has a way of analyzing and breaking down a song in a way that makes sense. Absolutely brilliant! What made the 80's so great was that there were different genres of music. You had Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Classic Rock, Pop Rock and Heavy Metal. You also had Pop, New Wave, Country and Country Crossovers into Pop. This song would fall into the category of Rock; just straight forward. Some other songs to check out from Loverboy are Working for the Weekend and Notorious.
I so love her random analogies never change Lex! You make me smile .
I’ll never hear Loverboy the same again 🤣
the look on Brads face when Lex starting talking about pickles was priceless hahahahaha!
For some reason, Loverboy puts me back in high school like no other group. I graduated in 1983. Glad you enjoyed it!
Rock N Roll is One Of the Music Styles That Is Almost Therapy To My Mind. 60s 70s and 80s Has Ways Of Bringing Good Vibes For My Days and Nights. Loverboy Was Played At School A Lot Back Then. Enjoy The Music Journey. Rock Your Way. ❤😊
Greetings from Williamsport, Pa. Home of Little League. Love the reactions from both of you. An oldie, but a goodie. Down to 🌎 rock n' roll. Telling a story & understanding the words. Classic.
You must also try some Chilliwack, another band from Canada of the same time Loverboy was going strong. Fly At Night, My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone), Watcha Gonna Do?
Great reaction!!!! Dam Brad must like it. That’s the most I seen him moving his head lol
To me, it’s just straight rock. I mean rock covers such a wide-spectrum it’s hard to classify some. Just 80’s rock, which is guitar-rock with a little synth. My favorite Loverboy songs are on the albums before this, but I like this, too.
Not a big Loverboy fan but I did win free tickets to see them from KGON for their rising stars concert somewhere around 79-80 - I remember the concert and enjoyed it very much, they put on a good show.l
@@johnmiller8553 I saw them 2 years ago. They sounded good but the lead-singer doesnt look like a Loverboy any longer. 🤪
That was a BOMB👍
Can't believe you Brad.. Not understanding the pickles analogie and the ✈😳
Lol, "he sounded like he ate pickles", great inside, love you guys
Welcome to Canadian Rock in the early 80s! You couldn’t listen to the radio for more than a few songs before something catchy from Loverboy came on!
Now every time I eat pickles I'll think about Lex lol. I thoroughly enjoyed the commentary.
Brad's face tho!! 😂🤣😂🤣
Oh Lex, I get it!! 😂👍🏽
Omg you two are cracking me up!!
I love that Lex gets the feel of the music and Brad tries to understand the meaning behind music. You two end up speaking different languages at some points
Working for the weekend should be your next Loverboy reaction…
I love pickles and I totally understand. Your insight and ability to interpret and then convey to us how the music makes you feel is magical and so much fun.
Loverboy had a great stream of hit songs, hope yall post more from them. Working for the Weekend & Hot girls in love are my faves
The pickle conversation feels like we all got a little glimpse into your relationship banter lol ….I like the music and i am hungry now
"Pickles - the palette cleanser." This touches my soul! I eat a meatball sub and between every bite I have have a bite of pickle. It resets my taste buds so I can taste the meatball sub all over again for the first time!
I love you guys!!!❤❤❤❤
Wow I did forget how good this group was ..did see them in 81...they were great.
I've seen Loverboy twice. They opened up for Journey in Dallas and then the next night they were at a small club. I loved their music. Lex is so cute! Now when I listen to Loverboy I think of pickles! 🤣🤣🤣
Lex I love your comparisons. I would had never even thought of comparing this song to pickles, which I do love.
🤔🤣😂
LMAO 🤣😂🤣😂 I heard these guys everywhere I went in the 80s. My friends couldn't get enough of this Band. I'm not the biggest fan, but they were good for the times.
My first year of college(1988) I was singing and playing electric guitar to this song but my recording cord had come out and my performance was going through the amp so it was loud and I couldn't hear because it was going into my headphones too. My curtain was open and people could see me but I had like 40 people watching me including the band The Romantics who where playing the college auditorium that night. I play with my eyes closed and didn't know, when the song finished I heard a loud bit of applause and I ran into my bathroom until they left. I had a lot of notes under my door when I came out.
I'm with you Brad on this one. Listening to Lex, the look on your face, Brad....PRICELESS. Pickles???
The "Kid is Hot Tonight" is definitely worth checking out.
Great reaction! I’m not a pickle guy either but I absolutely understood what Lex was talking about the moment she said it.
I went to a couple of Lover Boy's concerts in a outdoor arena. They had a really good laser light show.
It embodies the energy of pickles. I actually understand your meaning. Lex, your smile lights up the world! Thanks guys you are appreciated.
Whenever I'm having a rough day at work, I always start singing this song!!! 😃😆
"Embodies the energy of pickles" that quote is vlassic
Well. I'm thinking they are definitely the pickles from the refrigerator section. 🏄♂️🏄♂️🏄♂️🏄♂️🏄♂️
My FAVORITE Loverboy song!!!!👍🏾
“This song embodies the energy of pickles.”
Nobody brakes a song down to its core quite like Lex
Lol this girl is a trip! 😂
😂😂😂 Brad, think you were talking about another pickle!!
I love you and your pickles, girl
Subcribed
How could anyone not love Lex :)
Lex fills the vibe 😅
Lex...its classic pickle rock. 😁
🤣🤣🤣
My Canadian brothers! Saw them live this summer and they still fucking rock!
This song is so cool. It's got that Def Leppard sound to it.
It was originally written for def leppard.
Going to see them open for Foreigner's farewell tour in November here in my home town.
Loverboy and pickles? Of course, it's obvious to me now. How have I not seen this before?
Too funny.
:-)
GREAT ONE!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
a friend of mine, jeremy, played a golf proam and was paired with mike reno the singer. jeremy couldn't recognize him, and asked what instrument he played.
I love pickles too, you should try some import from Poland with the Oak Leaves in the jar.
Brad channeling Freud.
Lex is crazy AF lol. Awesome
If you want to know what "soft rock " is then listen to Air Supply, had to hear them all the time growing up my mom loved them
Lex got her groove on!
The video for this song is great !!
Lucky Ones another great track
You’re giving my pickle the feels, Lex.
Mutt Lange wrote this song, and a lot of hits for Def Lepard. Good ear.
These guys were known for wearing legwarmers back when they were big lol
I love you guys. 'Nuff said.
Another Great Canadian band loverboy they're still around they have an upcoming summer tour going to see them again live
Brads like, WTH are you talking about?🤔😳😆
Great jam😊
Time to get into some Clutch! So many songs to pick from but the most obvious starting point is "Electric Worry", cant go wrong with "Spacegrass" or the live version of "DC Sound Attack" either though.
You guys are completely adorable and so funny 💕
Working For The Weekend, and then a chaser with Trooper's "Raise A Little Hell".
You know what that Lobster shirt reminds me of? Pickles!!!
Every song, Brad: "it's different".
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy... 80s classic!
