Back when Loverboy was big and touring, this song came on when I was driving and my niece was in the car with me. I was probably 17 and she was 7. I said, oh yeah, Loverboy is coming to Nashville in 2 weeks for a concert. She looked at me and said, oh, Rick Springfield? I died laughing. *I know you just reacted to a Rick Springfield song (Jessie's Girl) so I thought I'd throw that out there. Rick Springfield was such a pretty boy poster pin up in the media, that she referred to him as "Loverboy". It cracks me up to this day and I still never let her forget it!!
Yet another great CANADIAN Band, they have a lot of great tunes and the lead singer has such a great voice even sounds great today as it did back in the eighties...
Absolute 80's classic. Loverboy lead singer Mike Reno also teamed up with Anne Wilson from girl band 'Heart' in 1984, for a duet for the motion picture soundtrack of Footloose. The song was called 'Almost Paradise', and the result was amazing.
I turned 18 the summer of 1980. I was both a senior in HS and a freshman in college in '80. This song was definitely a hit. It was a constant on the radio and came out with other greats like AC/DC's "Back in Black", Queens "Another One Bites the Dust" along with Billy Squire and his hits "The Stroke", "In the Dark" and "My Kind of Lover" '80 and '81 were two of the best years of my life. Reagan has just been elected, spirits were high and life seems so much simpler. I'd give anything to go back in time and be there again.
Love you both so much and you were enjoying this song so much and bringing such a smile to my face that I just watched your reaction 10 times in a row because of the way you made me feel. You should listen to the longer version also as this one is the shorter radio version. Hope you both are doing well and be safe my friends! 😊
SUMMER OF 1980, EDMONTON FOOTBALL FIELD. PACKED ALL THE SEATS N THE FIELD TOO. LOVERBOY HAD THE ENTIRE STADIUM BOUNCING WITH HANDS IN THE AIR…. !!!! MAN WHAT ENERGY… ALONG WITH BLUE OYSTER CULT… GODZILLA N HEART…. BARRACUDA… LOVE THOSE SMILES … WORKIN FOR THE WEEKEND, IS A GREAT SONG …. ROCK ON 👊🖖
Agree! It's so good! I saw them live at the World Series of Rock, 1982 at County Stadium in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The bands were Quarterflash, .38 Special, Loverboy, Triumph & Foreigner. Epic day of music!
Mine was at Day On The Green, 1982 at the Oakland Coliseum. Toto, The Tubes, Montrose, Santana and Journey. The Journey box set has a copy of the article from the newspaper the next day.
🔥🔥"THE KID IS HOT TONIGHT", "WHEN IT'S OVER", "LOVIN' EVERY MINUTE OF IT", "WORKING FOR THE WEEKEND" are other Incredible Loverboy songs to react to. I Love Mike Reno's voice!! He's Awesome!! I absolutely Love to see Andrei so excited! It makes me smile!! ❤❤
Jus a little band from Calgary Alberta, Canada!! Mike Reno, lead singer, what a voice, they packed them in the 80's, still singing today. You have to do "Working for the Weekend"
You are not alone, everyone loved this song, how could you not. I know it was a huge hit here in Australia. I'm pretty sure it would have been, almost everywhere. ✌❤
Loverboy were excellent. I kinda slept on them when they were current, but now I appreciate it. Mike Reno’s voice was angelic! He still has that voice! They always had the sexiest sounding backup singers.
Mike did a great duet for the Footloose soundtrack with Ann Wilson called Almost Paradise that is phenomenal and Loverboy also had a hit from the Top Gun soundtrack called Heaven in Your Eyes that was also pretty big. For your enthusiasm and excitement Andre, we need to make you an honorary Canadian .🇨🇦
Awesome reaction! You should definitely do The Kid is Hot Tonight and Working for the Weekend by Loverboy. Those are both absolute bangers! They're like Turn Me Loose, but cranking it up a couple notches.
45 years 🎂 Written by Mike Reno and Paul Dean. Produced by the late Bruce Fairbairn. Engineered by Bob Rock and Mike Fraser. Recorded in Little Mountain Sound Studios, Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦. I happened to have been traveling in Vancouver that year. But, I never met Loverboy or any of the other men. 😭 We were in different districts. Mike Reno can still reach the high notes in 2025! 🤯 Suggested videos 📹: 1 Loverboy performs Working on the Weekend 2 Mike Reno and Ann Wilson sing Almost Paradise 🏝
Hello 🙋♂🙋♂my beautiful people/awesome couple !!! Mike Reno is the lead singer and they had a string of hits, and ... Hot Girls In Love was not one of them ... not like their other ones. I would direct you to a few of these, if you like the vibe of this one: 1. Working for the Weekend 2. Lovin' Every Minute of It 3. When It's Over 4. Take Me To The Top However, as a bonus and very awesome love ballad to add to the list, I would do the great duet between Mike Reno and Ann Wilson (Heart's lead singer) called, Almost Paradise. That's the Theme Song from the movie Footloose, a great Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer 80's movie.
Please react to "The Kid is Hot Tonight", back in my clubbing days i would play this song while getting ready to go out dancing in front of a mirror. Lol. I think you'll love it.
Listen to Trooper....canadian band also....great! Pretty Lady....Here For A Goodtime......Bright White Sports Car.....you will love them....both big in late 70s...80s.....I have seen both 2x.....awesome concerts in Regina SASK
I did enjoy your reaction. I enjoy all of them. Yet, as I only listen to hard rock from the 70s and 80s, I have not seen all of your reactions. Hats off to you for embracing all genres , I'm not as open minded. As with some bands, their best stuff is in the first couple of albums. I feel that way about Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Motley Crue, Starz, Angel, Kiss, Montrose, Van Halen, ZZ Top, and Left End. The passion and drive that gets them to their first album really shows through. They all become too polished, IMO. Take care and as REX sings, You're Never Too Old To Rock and Roll!
Per Wiki it charted in 1981 as follows: #3 Australia, #7 Canada Top Singles, #5 New Zealand, #4 South Africa, #35 US Billboard Hot 100, #6 US Billboard Top Rock Tracks, and #7,183 Romania. Just kidding about Romania. Take Care...
Just in case you don't know... They had recorded the vocals and Mike said, "I want to do another take." When it came to the part that he screams, he said that he hadn't planned it, it just came out at the moment.
I love the seventies and eighties….agree. Hot girls in love…somebody liked the pop,song…..correct this is the lover boy I like. Try this as well….”when it’s over.” It’s great.
Oh yes…… you picked a good one. The next thing you’re gonna have someone ask, you is working for the weekend because that was a poppy song on the charts. Of course it is. I would also suggest, song, called…when it’s over. Great and powerful
Nice Song from the early 80s,, but it's also the only one from this Band! For me the most beautiful Recording of this Song is from the Album "Live, Loud and Loose". Anyway, I like the Song a lot! 🙂
Oh, Canada!!!!!! Andrei, this video version is shortened. The album version is even better. It doesn't get much more 80s music than Loverboy. There is a funny TV commercial from Canada that you might like...(related to this song)... th-cam.com/video/v8fPG1eSNJc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-TckYTxaUAPNJPAQ
The song “working for the weekend” is another classic by Loverboy
This was their debut and when it hit the radio back in 1980 it was like a breath of fresh air.
Oh my! It immediately takes me back to when I was 25. I turn 70 this April and music keeps us young! Thank you both. ✌️
This was a huge MTV hit
SO cool to see you both having so much fun with this song! Great band. Great reaction!

I agree 👍. They should react to that one! ❤
@cindysimpson1046 Unfortunately, no official music video was ever released.
Another one of their songs was everybody's working for the weekend
I turned 18 the summer of 1980. I was both a senior in HS and a freshman in college in '80. This song was definitely a hit. Now ya know how I felt when I was a teenager...love y'all.
Reminds so much of my teen years back in the 80s!! Great song!!

The song is fire.
You are not alone, everyone loved this song, how could you not. I know it was a huge hit here in Australia. I'm pretty sure it would have been, almost everywhere. ✌❤
Loverboy was my first concert when I was in 8th grade. Mike Reno has a great voice...his vocals are just as good live too.
Loverboy were excellent. I kinda slept on them when they were current, but now I appreciate it. Mike Reno’s voice was angelic! He still has that voice! They always had the sexiest sounding backup singers.
I'm with Andre... I love it too !! It's on ALL my playlists !!
Great reaction! I think you would really like their song "Lovin' Every Minute Of It"

Red Ryder Lunatic Fringe. Saga -On The Loose.
I love Lunatic Fringe!
another song they did ... "Loverboy - loving every minute of it" ... (the music video has a long intro)
This was my first concert summer 1983 Quiet Riot opened up, we got to meet them at a record store in my hometown--right out of Spinal Tap 😅
The good old 80's. Love it.🤘🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤❤❤
checkin in... back in the day we skated hard to this one. it was awesome in the 80s
I saw them in Detroit when this song came out and they rocked and sounded great. I love the intro with the synth, bass and drums.
I'm thrilled that you brought back an early 80's band that I forgot about that was so enjoyable to listen to.
“Working For The Weekend” and “The Kid Is Hot Tonight” are two more classic Loverboy hits. Great 80’s Canadian rock group. ❤️🇨🇦

LOVERBOY ,was my favorite band in the 80s
Loverboy , Lovin Every Minute of It. It's a hard rock song that sometimes gets forgotten. Check it out 🎉🎉
Hello 🙋♂🙋♂my beautiful people/awesome couple !!! Mike Reno is the lead singer and they had a string of hits, and ... Hot Girls In Love was not one of them ... not like their other ones.

4. Take Me To The Top

You have to listen to the album version, this is the radio edited version. Alot more guitar soloing in the album version.

This is the shortened radio version. The full-length version is even better 👍
When it’s over is my favorite.

I love the seventies and eighties….agree. Hot girls in love…somebody liked the pop,song…..correct this is the lover boy I like. Try this as well….”when it’s over.” It’s great.
The best 🤘🤘
I guess because it's a music video, this version is shortened. The album version is longer and has a proper guitar solo.
Oh yes…… you picked a good one. The next thing you’re gonna have someone ask, you is working for the weekend because that was a poppy song on the charts. Of course it is. I would also suggest, song, called…when it’s over. Great and powerful

Another song in a similar style I think you will like is the song The Sweet Things in Life by Harliquin
Nice Song from the early 80s,, but it's also the only one from this Band!
For me the most beautiful Recording of this Song is from the Album "Live, Loud and Loose".
Anyway, I like the Song a lot! 🙂
Jerry !
Loverboy is an excellent band with too many hits to mention.
The next one should be, the kid is hot tonight
You did 'Hot Girls'? Thanks for stepping off the reactor beaten path. 👌
Oh, Canada!!!!!! Andrei, this video version is shortened. The album version is even better.
It doesn't get much more 80s music than Loverboy.
There is a funny TV commercial from Canada that you might like...(related to this song)...
