because these are the same cards, their texture fillrate are almost the same, as well as amount of ROPs and TMUs (1660s have a little more), but 3050 have rt and tensor cores

I used to game on Geforce 210 with like 1-12 fps, then switched to RTX 2060 which removed the pain from my eyes. Now I wanna have the 3090 to feel the wind from my screen.

@@salmon_wine we were almost on the same boat dude, I had the 660 (along with the rest of my old PC) since 2012, in March of this year I was able to build a brand new PC with the 1050ti and now the 3060 that I found for roughly $270. Used, of course. But until now I haven't run into any troubles
In the course of 2 years, I went from having a 4th gen i5 laptop with integrated graphics, to a gaming laptop with an rtx 2060, and now a full gaming pc with a 3070 ti. I previously had GT 730 for 5 years and mostly played non-laggy games like Minecraft and Roblox. After getting a new build last week with an RTX 3060 12GB, I then played some graphics-intensive games with maxed-out settings including Cyberpunk and I immediately felt like I missed out on many genres of games that I could've played. It was like a fresh of breath air for me.
Same feeling, my 13 year rig which was an i3 3rd gen and 4 gbs of ram with UHD graphics has carried my childhood through the years, got a 3060 and upgraded to an i7 10th gen just 3 months ago, and boy playing my games back then which I struggled to run without heavy tweaks in 1080p ultra 144hz was just pure bliss.
it is a great card, but for anyone considering it, please look at the 6600xt/6650xt. They perform about the same as the rtx 3060 but for the price of a 3050. The downside is no dlss, but you do get fsr, and the ray tracing performance isn't as good. Still a better card imo
Problem is: that lacking DLSS is a really big negative. DLSS has become crucial in many games now. Also, RT in games like Control and Returnal looks amazing. I suggest people get the 3060 over the AMD models. But make sure you get a 12GB 3060, not the gimped version.
To be fair RayTracing on a 3060 sucks regardless and DLSS/FSR/XeSS and any other upscaler kinda suck on a 1080p which is the resolution these cards were made for.
finally, someone who thinks that no DLSS is a downside, thank god these poeple exist. Someone even said that FSR is better than DLSS, omg what a talk that was >:(
I went from a RV509 Samsung laptop to a Pc with RTX 3050 and I3 10th gen. Seen so much hate to this GPU but i'm so grateful to what i got , I never imagined to play half of the games I run today , It's a good card for its price I love it . I hope gamers remember to appreciate what they got , if that's your budget then don't let it stop you , just enjoy what you got , things will get better fellow gamer :)
A laptop is a complete package and you can't really choose what goes inside it. So if the performance you're getting is fitting with the money you spent on the laptop, that's cool. The problem IS when you're building or upgrading your rig and you but a card that's absolutelly not worth the money you're spending cause there are better and cheaper cards out there
Even if the 3050 works and gives you a bunch of FPS on your games, which I don't doubt, it still is a bad deal, cause there are better cards out there that give more FPS and are cheaper and no one should appreciate a billion dólar company for releasing a bad product out of greed.
@jockeelly it's fine buddy i do get it's a bad deal and there better gpus but for my case was better than nothing I'll try to pick the right one next time :)
I switched from the integrated graphics of my 2200G straightforward to a 2060, I have a little bottleneck but is not really that big of a deal in games, it simply felt mind-blowing the capacity to play *E V E R Y T H I N G* I still got excited at the fact that I have the GPU I dreamed of since 2019, pure happiness
Yeah I got rtx 2060 too and even the heaviest game which would be cyberpunk, can be played with ray tracing. Just one tip: play at 50 FPS. It is smooth as fuck, basically like 60 FPS, and even better, as with this GPU it's hard in the heaviest game to maintain solid 60 FPS all the time with the best graphics, so instead of having 70 FPS, then 60, then 52, then 70 again... you'll have smooth 50 FPS your entire session, and also have 10 FPS of advantage for increasing graphics! If your TV don't have GSync or FreeSync, which basically adapts the Hz to the current frames, 50 FPS might not feel as smooth as it really is at 50 Hz. So in the case your tv doesnt have any of those two tech, just adjust it to 50 Hz at Nvidia control panel, and always enable VSYNC on games's graphics settings.
I'm happy for you man, same. In 2019 I got a shitty laptop with a 1050 and 8GB ram that served me well, but it was mostly because I knew nothing about computers and I wanted to get a desktop anyways. For me getting this rtx 3050 was a huge improvement because I was playing games on an Intel HD 2500 before.
it is a great card, but for anyone considering it, please look at the 6600xt/6650xt. They perform about the same as the rtx 3060 but for the price of a 3050. The downside is no dlss, but you do get fsr, and the ray tracing performance isn't as good. Still a better card imo
I just got bought the 6650 xt for a very cheap price and its an amazing gpu.
At this pricr point no one should worry about rtx performance. These are amazing value cards. :) 6700 XT included.

@@AnimalHaven06 if you use your PC for work or graphic design / video editing as well, 1440p is a huge upgrade. I changed from 1080p to 1440p 8 years ago. I wouldn't want to go back anymore. The issue is, that games look unsharp / washed out if you run them on a non-native resolution.
