I used to have this gpu and only changed earlier this year, the gt610 after being overclocked can run gta 5 and minecraft 1.20 without tooo many problems

I built mine for $175 and it plays 400+ FPS with high settings (12 chunks, fabulous graphics, 90 FOV, and every other effect turned on with optifine cuz I use forge for mods)

Actually it wasn't raytracing as GT610 doesn't support it, if you use SEUS PTGI without having a graphics card that can raytrace it will do the same as a normal shader (no colored lights, real time lights etc..)

24 fps in 1.20.3 is basically what i get, it is playable for me as i used to getting 15 fps or lower and i have a integrated intel gpu which makes v1.0 to 1.7.10 unplayable because of a textures being completely broken also 1.8 i get around 60 fps and in older versions like beta i get 100 sometimes, and with shaders that look similar like at 7:42 i also got 1 to 7 fps still better them my phone running minecraft at 1 to 15 fps in every version of minecraft mainly 0 to 5

Try installing Fabric with some performance mods like Sodium and Starlight in 1.20. Runs better than old Minecraft on my PC.
what pc you have, my old N2600 with GMA3600 with 2GB of ram ran minecraft at 90 fps in 1.12.2

this is probably because mc is more of a CPU intensive game rather than a GPU intensive game, try it with the oldest possible CPU and then see how mc runs

I run it with a i7 920 and a GTX 1060 and it works perfectly
Can already confirm 2'nd gen cpus are out of it, my i7 2630 can only run up to 1.16.5
Though thats in a laptop, it is possible with a GPU it could fix it
id probably change the title as you even said its not 'the' oldest but the oldest you can find. maybe something like 'can the gt610 still run minecraft' or 'can this 12 year old graphics card run minecraft'. i doubt youd want to do international shipping or something for just a random video idea but there are likely old radeon gpus you could find somewhere thatd still work, there is also the gt210 which should definitely be available somewhere but yeah youd probably have to get them shipped in and the shipping price would probably cost more than the actual product itself lol
if you cleaned the dust out some it probably would have run slightly better
Try using the sodium mod. It can definitely help with older gpus like this.
i think that sodium is preinstalled in lunar client
Lunar uses optifine
@@dommamox4242 In my experience sodium provides a much greater boost to FPS than optifine. Just at the cost of some features that come with optifine by default. I've had luck with sodium in the past on 10+ year old computers, and in many cases I've boosted my fps from an unstable 30 ish fps to 60 fps stable.
There's also a mod that adds LODs to the Minecraft rendering system (I forget exactly what it's called). But I was able to significantly boost my render distance and fps with that in combination with sodium. Though it was really glitchy.

the statement of lunar tripling ur FPS is true, i play on the laptop my dad got gifted at work and lunar boosted my fps from 20fps w/ optifine/sodium to 60fps. also i have a 48hz display

i want to build a new budget pc with arc a750
I had force to use a 9600GT (which is a 2008 card), and i could run Minecraft on it(very poorly due to newer versions require more gpu to play, and this is a 512MB card anyways), but only on Linux. On Windows 10 and 11, after 30 minute, the whole pc Blue screened. So I expected this performance. But this is a great vid!👊
My friend used to have a 9800GT, and he managed to get 700 FPS in 1.8 while bridging.

My friend have GT 520m from 2011 that have 1 GB of ram and still can play minecraft above 30 fps, and I had a graphic card from 2012 or 2013 that also have only 1 GB of vram, it could run minecraft newest versions on around 60-70 fps easily (on normal settings)
what version are you playing on that is getting 1500 fps on a 4070ti? i have a 4080 and it doesnt go above like 400

What is your shaders ? I have à rtx 3050 and intel 15 11400h and 8 gb ram on vanilla i have 300 fps but with optifine and complémentary shaders i have 10 fps why??? ( sorry for my english im french)
Gpu is a graphics card and can run up to it’s rating but the fps is dependent on ram also its runs because you have a cpu so it also gives a good boost in performance

The bottleneck is insane.( this means that the CPU is too strong for the GPU)
the CPU can't handle the true performance power of the GT 610
ALSO, as we tell the guy that changing a graphics card doesn't work that way... Take into account the PCI port, GDDR 5 and thousands of different factors

I sometimes set games to be max of 20FPS and is is not that badf if you are used to it. It then gives an illusion of the character moving faster
well, better then my old laptop. (10 fps in minecraft on only 10 chunks render distance (i'm not 100% sure about the resolution but I believ it was 960p))

2:37 that gpu wont handle 1440p or 4k let alone 8k because it only supports a maximum of 1920x1080 so it was still playing 1080p the entire time thats why it was "working" so well
I am using a Quadro k4100M which is 10 years old, I use it for streaming and making games. still works to this day i am using it right now. works with every game (almost)

I had this gpu until March of this year when i bought a GT 1030 , it felt like a BIG upgrade and now i bought a GTX 1070 Ti and now i would never play again with the GT 610 [i use to play on 2chunks)

my brother gave me his old gpu as an upgrade because mine was so bad (dont remember what either of them were, but the upgraded one he gave me is basically the same as a gt 710 which is all i can remember) and the one he gave me could run gta v on the lowest graphics at like around 30 fps and now that i upgraded my cpu and gpu i can run gta v on the highest settings with 50+ fps consistently
My old pc had a e5700, gt730 and 8 gigs of ram. Found it in the attic couple days ago, tried it and surprisingly it can run minecraft 1.20 at 140 fps average
the gt 610 was my first "Gaming" gpu, i played minecraft so much in 2020 but now i have a integraded ryzen gpu.

i have a gt 630 and it plays quite well (30 fps normal world 50+ flat world/void world im gettin used) on lower settings (also i use fabulously optimized modpack because its impossible to play without it)
p.s. for some weird reason my gpu has 8 times less vram than this one

i use geforce 210 it can run 1.20.4 and i got 40 - 60 fps without any mods and my system hardware is old cpu i5 generation 2 and 4GB of DDR3 ram

bro i have a gt 630 with intel i-3 4 gb ram before but 8gb ram now and on 4gb ram it used to run minecraft on more than 100 fps no optifine default settings
I ran minecraft 1.2.5-1.7.10 on a Pentium III and Atlon XP (462) Gt6600 and it works well for me 50-75 fps on 7 chunks (this is if 1.7.10) there are drawdowns but they are infrequent, the maximum is possible on such a computer run 1.12.2 but for 1.16.5 you already need SSE2...
Bro you can get like 60 fps on that card you just need to optimize windows and change the settings from high to low with 1920x1080 i mean that every effect turn off graphics: fast and other stuff.

You know you can install a different bios on your 4070ti
I did this to my friends 4070 ti asus and i installed a bios from MSI and it gained 30-40% more performance
Also consider taking an ATI Radeon X300 for the test, but you'll probably have to install Windows 7.
some laptops do not even have a gpu and they can run mc so its all good even if you just dont use the gpu at all
it can play 8k but its not displaying it, so it doesn't require the same performance as if you had an 8k monitor. 8k is almost useless atm because most people don't have access to 8k

now i use a GTX 1650. pretty big improvements but still a low profile GPU

I got only over 70 fps after I installed sodium and a bunch of performance boosting mods. It could be worse if I use only vanilla 😂

I have a spare pc with a GT 620 1GB VRAM. It can run MC at 60fps at reasonable quality
Fun Fact : NVIDIA Geforce GT 610 was released in 2012 , and the NVIDIA GT 710 was released after just 2 or 4 years. The GT 610 is getting like 23 fps in this video even tho he's using intel 12900k cpu. the 12900k cpu has like a speed of 5.2 GHz. I use the GT 710 while having an intel pentium G4560 having only 3.5GHz and i am getting 500 fps on the latest version. the 2 year difference of the NVIDIA Was unbelievable

my old 2013 macbook ran at 30fps in minecraft without mods, my brand new pc is having a constant 144 fps with v sync and with shaders
(13400f and rx 6750 xt with 32gb of ddr4 ram)
