Nick Korte Yup! It's in one of the biography's I read about Stevie. Stevie smoked all the way up until 88, this is in 89. He wanted to get rid of all of his vices. He quit the drugs and alcohol, so smoking was the last real bad thing he had left to conquer.

I totally agree. Some of his songs without lyrics, during his playing I kind of make up what the guitar is saying. I don’t sing outlet or anything but to me sometimes the guitar really does seem to be talking.

I saw his behind the music on VH1 I believe. He had been clean and sober there at the end and he was getting ready to take TF OVER. He talked about being happy and free due to his found sobriety. Scary good who knows if he didn't get on that plane but IMO he's known far and everywhere for being the best. The of your comment that inspired mine was the way he said I'm sobor with genuine happiness he then let his guitar say what sober feels like to him and everyone understood. The instrument that could say it better than the voice. SRV is legend.

I read Buddy's book a couple months ago, and his respect for SRV, even though it was a short window they had, is beautiful. The 4:17 mark of this shows such great friendship, and I'm so happy for this clip. Long live the blues, as it is the foundation to most music. First time I saw you live was at Lake Charles and you had your older sister in the audience with Stevie's brother Jimmy, 2013. instantly I went from a fan to a believer. Thank you all you've done for all of us from Muddy Waters to mentoring todays young talent and future extensions of your gift. I'm amazed at where you came from and the screen door wires that you built to get you where you at Legends today. My favorite explanation of your journey was the one Eric Clapton gave you at the hall of fame just before you jammed with Eric and the late BB King. Your a man a few words...loved your stuff since I discovered you in the 70s, but respected you most as you gave your acception remarks. I've found you very talented yet most don't realize how humble a man you are. How does one say appropriately you bring Muddy, Jimi and others with at every show. Honestly...no words, just in aww...

No two people have more pure fun singing and playing the blues than these two.
You can just feel the good time they're having.
Stevie answering all of Buddy's questions with his guitar. Damn, that's blues.
And when Buddy plays, you can hear without a doubt his influence on SRV.
Sure wish i was in that audience.
