I hope that some of the people here for SRV have had their eyes opened the mastery of Buddy who's always flown a little under the radar. Both insanely talented.
Watch Buddy smile when Stevie starts playing. I've seen Buddy several times myself. Stevie always paid tribute to Buddy, recording Buddy's songs (Mary Had A Little Lamb, Let Me Love You) announcing to audiences during shows that he liked Buddy asking the audience if they did to before launching into Leave My Little Girl Alone. Buddy didn't stay lost in obscurity once Stevie kicked the door open. And that's why Stevie was a musicians musician, he always reflected on his influences.
Wow, when someone like Buddy Guy introduces you by calling you his best friend AND handing you YOUR guitar before you start playing together, you know you've made it!!
I was blessed to have seen Stevie Ray twice. First time was in Phoenix at the celebrity theater in 87. Greg Allman opened for SRV and Double Trouble. I had a 5th row aisle seat and when the stage rotated to my aisle I ran down to the stage and got right up to Stevie and screamed like a little girl at an Elvis concert. Stevie just grinned at me and then a giant of a man stepped between us and said no dancing in the aisle so I sat down. The second time I saw Stevie was in Tucson in 89 the day after my birthday, I didn't have as good of a seat but it was still an awesome concert and great birthday gift. The following year the day before my birthday I heard the horrible news that Stevie was gone. Died in my home state of Wisconsin and at a place where I probably skied down the hill. I went skiing many times at Alpine valley and saw a few concerts there also. I still mourn us losing him and the others who were on that helicopter. But I will never forget that night I first saw him and he gave me a big smile. RIP Stevie, thanks for the memories and your God given talent.
Mad respect for Buddy Guy he's a legend in his own right but what always amazes me is how many legends he shared the stage with.. The important thing is Buddy shares that stage he brings out the best from others and never tries to upstage instead he shares his beautiful energy and it's obvious how much he enjoys collaborating

Big smile watching, tx 4 posting. I saw these 2 & met Buddy once, gracious man.
LOVE at the beginning when Stevie puts the guitar on and the band does the turn around, he can't not play over it. The clouds open up and the blues rains down!
I never seen guitars shed tears before but goooddaaaamn
My 2 VERY Favourite Blues Guitarists!!❤️❤️
Been there. Not that night but a great club. Buddy has Stevie paintings on the wall. They were great friends. Buddy has been a favorite of mine since the late 60s..SRV , whats to say. The best
I like the way buddy took off his guitar and gave it to SRV... beautiful
Buddy has spent his entire life making others HAPPY, he grew up hard life many years ago and he's used those times to influence his music to reach everyone's soul, to the likes of which no one before him has every done. And Stevie, well Stevie was Stevie need I say more ❤💢❤
Does this bring a smile to anybody else’s face
I don't see how people can listen to something this pure, then call the trash people are producing today good music. It doesn't make sense.
The smile from Buddy Guy at the opening SRV riff is awesome!!
My lord. What a talent, he owned it, no way he could have remained with us. Father had to bring him home.
Father does not exist.
@@spaceghost8995 He exists weather you choose to believe it or not.
That's one hell of a conversation they are having
Man that would have been a fantastic show to see .
I saw Buddy in the mid to late 2000’s . He played on a free stage at out local fair he was one hell of a showman. Fantastic show. People were walking out after the show blown away!
Two Legends on the same stage. I mistakenly thought once that music died after SRV's death, but Buddy kept the music going strong.
The most amazing thing ive ever heard or seen and i never wana see more because both my mind and heart will explode
Thanks for listening ... full song along with the Full Set of this show us on my SoundCloud Page >> soundcloud.com/charles-serban/sets/its-still-called-the-blues-s-r
it is perfect this one, they played very good together.
I met Buddy Guy back late 80s, maybe 1990 lol. He dedicated a song to me and came off the stage and dance a bit with me. So cool. Some do not believe me. But I remember. And he was just such a really cool guy. You just felt instantly comfortable talking to him. It was one of my highlights of my life! 😊 It was in this little bar in Chicago.
Cool as hell ! I saw Buddy recently at the Harvester in Rocky Mount, VA. One of the best experiences of my life.
Yes, Buddy is like that with everyone. He must have met a million people and made them all feel the same.
So happy I was able to see both in concert
The SRV tone with Buddy Guy Lace Sensors Tbx and mid Boost Clapton Strat is GREAT and Blues Firepower!
And Buddy Guy...the powerful Blues Warrior!
Many amazing moments on this stage
Had to pleasure to go to Legends a few years back and meet Buddy Guy in person, a great moment in life 1:18 for me. To those who were there with both Buddy and SRV how do you top that? Wow!
One of the greatest vids ive seen of Stevie with buddy guy what a show hat fuckin tipped
I'm in dream land watching these two great's , maestro's, geniuses that's what you call talent people R.I.P. STEVIE RAY VAUGHN YOU ARE SADLY MISSED MY FRIEND.
7:56 best part, man. the smiles on their faces and both of them showing off is priceless.
That opening thing SRV does right after Buddy lent him his guitar is bloody awesome. Filth, but awesome. (And it's so cool they share guitars like that)
Buddy grinning like a loony when he plays it. So friendly. SO beautiful.
Each time I come back to this video I get goosebumps when srv starts shredding the strat. Might be the best piece of guitar playing I ever heard.
It's Stevie doing Albert King licks.
Two of my favourite artists!
Buddy Guy's Legends
What a place.
Was lucky enough to be there in 2017
This is actually the old location. Buddy got a bigger club a little while after this.
