Mopar called their POSI rear ends Sure Grip, GM called theirs Limited Slip, AMC called theirs Twin-Grip and Ford called theirs Traction Lok. They were all manufacturers slang for positive traction differentials... Or POSI.
Actually, you have it backwards in GM's case. Posi-Traction was GM's brand name for their limited slip differentials. And, yes, Mopar called their limited slip rear ends Sure Grip, Ford called their limited slip differentials Traction Lok, etc., etc. GM's registered trademark brand, Posi-Traction, is the name that caught on with the general public, so people tend to use the term posi to refer to all brands of limited slip differentials . . . just as people, as an example, use the brand name ChapStick to refer to all brands of lip balm.
+bman99ss - Thanks for the heads up. I just bought a new Silverado, and it said limited slip on the window sticker. It'll be one of those governor style pieces of junk. I'll swap it for an Eaton unit like I have with my other trucks and cars... They're all posi's to me as long they leave two nice long black marks on the road.
I could listen to a Hemi all day. Awesome stuff!
Another classy tribute to muscle by a man at the top of his game...
Very kind of you to say Peter! Thank you for watching!
Love the exhaust note of that Hemi on idle.👍
That's one fabulous car there i like the color thats one about these old mopars they alot of cool colors
"real leather" in an old muscle car. Now that's rare.
That rear seat upholstery is 1971. Also the L.A built cars had the pinch welded rocker panel lip painted black by hand
Interesting!
Very nice, although I kinda wish that vinyl tops had never become "a thing".
They were over-used to be sure.
Cool!!
I like it!
FUCKIN SWEET MAN!!!
Not posi?
All Dana 60 rears were posi. The one on that car needs new clutches obviously.
No, it's not posi if it's a Mopar. Chrysler called their limited slip rear ends Sure Grip (Ha!)

Is it a figment of my imagination or is the posi not working
