Richard Devoe is there any way or any where you can buy this car? This car had always been my dream car or like any old muscle cars are just so beautiful
IVDestroyerzzVI - These cars are still around, fewer everyday...but if someone has deep pockets hit the auction sites and one could be had for the right amount of $$
Kevin - great vid as always. The 68-70 Dodge Charger was THE boldest design, both from front to rear and side to side. I often think of how much fun it must have been to conceive this car and and then design and build this car as well drive and be seen it one!
I just saw Jayleno Garage of this week’s episode and now I know what can go wrong ... here , to start , the steel wheels just magnify the beauty of the line . That black redo with the vinyl top is almost perfect. .
I had one back in the day. I bought it from some guy who didn't know what he had, paid $400 for it. After a long restoration(won't go into details)I drove it for about 3 or 4 months then someone offered me a good amount of $$$s for it. Wish I had it back today, can you imagine what that car would be worth?
To many Charger R/T ended up totaled because of drivers who didn’t respect the power of these beast. As a kid I could remember them stacked at my local junk yard with a crushed front or back end. Those with “The scat pack” ( beefed up sway bars, better shocks torsion bars ect ect) cars were the safest as they were more likely to hold the turn.
Hmm... great question. Say they all have 426 Hemi's and 4-speed, the Cuda is a smaller and more nimble car, but it's a bit nose heavy with the Hemi. Same goes for Challenger. The Charger is bigger and more balanced, but handles like a larger car. Charger is a great highway car. The Cuda and Challenger feel bigger than they are when you drive them, all are very comfortable. All can be made to drive better with suspension upgrades.
The R/T base engine was the 440 , but the entry V8 was the 318 until Dodge wanted to appeal to a Family man on a budget and offered the 225 slant 6 mid model year . The Marlin and Charger for 66-67 didn;t draw in the buyers from the NASCAR type fan for that flat sloping rear , Charger sales in 67 were around 45 K but the 68 was popular and production was 96K .
That's one fabulous looking car clean packing that beast of a hemi engine. I like that red paint along with the plain black whéels and the red line tires.
They make peak power around 5800 stock, I think it's more of MOPAR being cheap vs making a tach for each engine. The solid lifter hemi's would have no trouble revving to 6500 with the stock valve train. The 70,71' only about 6000. The bottom end is certainly strong enough for 7000+.
@@GlassTopRX7 Many years ago, I had a 1970 Challenger R/T with a 440 sixpack, 4 speed, and 4.10 Dana 60 rear end. If I remember correctly, the redline on it's tach was either 6,000, or 6,500. I was always under the impression that the hemi was a higher revving engine.
EASILY in the MCOTW top 25 list of BEST! She's gorgeous. People would call me a FORD guy all day long, but to me, Mopars have ALWAYS been the most beautifully designed among the "Big Three." Ford was always more "frumpy" GM, more "middle of the road" and Mopars were the "best styled." They took chances (remember the `62 Valiant???), but always made bold choices.
@Christian Karlsson I noticed the same thing. He did say at 3.19 that disk brakes were an OPTION. He did not actually say that this on had disc brakes. It was kinda confusing. At least it has power steering and power brakes. That heavy engine made controlling and stopping a challenge, as many telephone poles could attest.
Kevin, thank you & the Brothers Collection for the great video of the perfect hot rod IMO. Two leaves still look thin on the right side of the rear end. I was hoping for at least one good long smoky burnout!!! I wonder how this sweet ride would hang with a '70 Chevelle LS6 454.
I'm really not a big fan of Chrysler products especially those years with those torsion bars and really poor front end suspension setups well that being said the 68 Dodge Charger wow what a beautiful vehicle!...
The body of the charger was way too close to the previous gen of GM mid sized cars like the Chevelle and GTO. I also have mixed feeling with how much the Hemi cars are featured. They are all special but MOPAR put them in just about everything they made at one time or another.
How can someone dislike a car like this?? This is truly a man´s muscle car.
One of the best looking cars ever made and the perfect drive train !
With the hemi, nothing's left on the table.

Has there ever been a more beautiful design than the 68-69-70 Dodge Charger? If so, I’d like to see it. MOPAR or no car!
If you done jail time for ''borrowing'' this beauty Kev I know we all would understand !
Thanks again Kevin. You have the best job in the world test driving all the great cars that you show on ypur videos
You rock
One of my favorite body style.
Most stunning thing I've ever seen. Keep up the great programming. In 1980, 8th grade, I drew my dream car in my yearbook. This is the dream
You said it Kevin. SPOT ON! I really “DIG” the Steel wheels and Dog DIsh Caps here. I love this look! Thanks for bringing it to us.
That is one legendary car!
Jennifer Lopez of the cars! Has years but looks awesome!!!
Now that's tire shredding horsepower!!

'68 Hemi Charger! 'nuff said! Hail Kev!
When you hold the wheel on that car you have your hands full
Cars look great in red and I don't know why
Only car I've ever seen with red striped tires that looks good. Only one.
Simply awesome car.
What's is the better driving car assuming same motors/transmissions, etc..
Challenger, Charger or Cuda?
Thank you.

@@V8TV Thank you, sir. Thumbs up!
Is that R/T badge in the correct location on the back of the car? Something doesn’t appear correct to me.
The most beautiful car out of Detroit ever.
I always thought R/T stood for Rapid Transit, not Road and Track?
Road and Track is correct.

@MrDusterdave The wheels are black though not red.
@MrDusterdave Ok??
@MrDusterdave You replied yes and incorrect. What is incorrect?
@MrDusterdave Oh ok though this isn't the first model with the black wheels and dog dish hub caps. I've seen cuda's and challengers with the the same.
@MrDusterdave Alrighty have a Good day.
I was surprised at the 5,000rpm redline. I thought that the hemi's redlined at 6,000 or 6,500.

One of the best car ever made.....what a legend
I love it,my 68 Charger was stolen, l had it for 30 years
Power drumbrakes on this car, not discbrakes=less roll resistanse. Only thing missing on the car when orderd is of course 8 track

I'm guessing it would beat it just like a Buick GSX, or Boss 9 Mustang would.
Nice car. Im trying to buy 2 68 charger One is red and the other is green
Perfection
Don't get no better than that beaut!
Cool car.
Dream car
