I played the DS version in the early 2010s when I got my DS,, they seemed huge yet watching this I was like "damm the levels are small compared to what is doable nowadays"

Actually the penguin only has checkpoints in the shortcut that detects cheating. For the normal coarse, it uses a fall timer. If you spend too much time in the air
(I forget the exact amount. I think it's like a second or two), it times out and he says you cheated. You can jump down. But you'd have to find away to do it quickly to not trigger the time out.

I will have you know… occasionally I find myself dying to Goombas. Granted I usually forget to pause the game or I intentionally kill myself on them but it still can happen.

Disclaimer: I'm sincerely impressed by the effort and significant amount of thought you put into this so what I'm about to say is solely for the sake of accuracy and in no way meant to shit on your very interesting and well-executed video.
Without picking just one specific size and playing through all 120 stars with that one size, there's no definitive way (aside from TAS stuff) to know that Mario could obtain all 120 stars with the method you used since it only (possibly) confirmed that some stars are impossible at 8x size. At ~4x size, yes you were able to get the remaining stars that seemed impossible at 8x but without playing through all 120 stars at the ~4x size, we can't be sure that a Mario of that size could get all the other stars that were obtained at 8x size. Reason being is that 8x Mario, while hindered in some ways due to his size, also was able to cheese quite a few stars (like the one in the lava world in the far corner) due to his enormous size granting him great traveling ability that smaller Marios may not have. ~4x Mario might be unable to get certain stars if he has to deal with both the encumbrances of being too big while not having the full range of advantages that 8x Mario has.
I'm not suggesting you waste your time doing an entire video with ~4x Mario either. I was very entertained by this one and I doubt the amount of viewers you'd get would justify the effort since half of them would probably think "Why the fuck am I gonna watch TWO different 30-minute videos about a big-ass Mario going for 120 stars?"

Why you "miss" things despite having a King Kong sized hitbox: a few calculations in the game ignore Mario's hitbox and instead go by the point between his feet. And indeed, the hitbox is hardly precise to begin with. A few pixels inaccurate just became several yards here.

@@UltraAryan10 Well of course it's not infinite, just like how the largest size featured in this video isn't infinite, and I imagine there'd be some sort of lower cap on base movement speed, unlike an exploit in which you can build up speed for 12 hours
@@Nuyube Just play Releasio 64, its a quite stupid challenge, since as long as you don't have speed that your next quarter step is OoB you are fine. And the max speed will vary from course to course too.

I think my favourite parts of this video are the views of the different courses. It's cool to see the entirety of Tick Tock Clock as one cylinder and Rainbow Ride is so huge that in the Giant Mario mod it looks like it could be a regular platform level.
Talking about the penguine race, this was covered in a recent video from pannenkoek2012. There are no checkpoint that you have to pass, there is only one checkpoint behind the go-through wall that flags you as cheating, and if mario is in the air for more than 2 seconds, that also flags you as cheating.

The problem with physics (sliding and flying) makes sense as well as the increased hit box, if Mario is 8x as tall, his hit box will be 8x bigger meaning not only will grabbing things be 8x easier since he’d also jump 8x further and higher (which is also why he would also go 8x farther while turning on the slide) unfortunately it also means it’s 8x easier for things to hit him. So it’s a blessing and a curse, a double edge sword.

Serious answer is yes, but to avoid being r/whooshed by loads of annoying kids that think r/whoosh is funny, I would say no, because "Undertale" is not San's name, and the fandom is complete garbage, the game's fine, but the fandom is garbage, and I don't like hearing "Sans Undertale", so yes, while it is possible, it's impossible to do it without looking like an idiot.

can you beat the game upside down (and before you comment that the first stage would be impossible let me explain):
#1: All stages are a perfect upside down recreation (not sure how this works with water and lava and stuff, but whatever)
#2: this perfect upside down recreation includes all items not subject to gravity (such as stars, and coins that don't come from enemies and such, including secret spots and slide checkpoints)
#3: All items that are subject to gravity (except mario) spawn in their original spots, and have gravity work on them as normal
#4: You (TetraBitGaming) get to work with the mod creator to decide where Mario spawns in each level for the best chance of winning
#5: You get to choose how gravity works with the castle
#6: The Metal Cap, wing cap, and Vanish cap switches are upside down, but can be triggered by bumping your head on them and other switches are same (or not if you decide)
#7: If there's anything I missed or anything you wish to change to make the challenge more fun, you can
This was inspired by Super Mario 74's Luminary/Umbra Spheres which are upside down versions of each other

Only the basement levels are truly painful, the rest are either easier or similar to normal.

As a side note, tetra made it way harder by not using the fixed camera. Using that stops the camera from jumping all over the place and makes it 10 times easier.
