I’m a Communist California resident, and I’ve been in a lot of motorcycle shops. Recently I was in Texas and it wouldn’t been complete without walking into a motorcycle shop. You guys by far were the most friendliest, most knowledged group of guys I have ever met. Better than any experience I have ever had an any shop in the communist State of California.
so communist that they have the 4th largest [CAPITALIST] economy in the world... you need to find better bike shops! they exist. We have better roads and tracks than texas ever will -- no offense.
I've never ridden a bike that handles like the 698 & I had the 701 Husky before.......It's just FUN as soon as you ride....Ordered the SC Project cans for mine.
I've ridden two 698 RVE's and they have the most annoying engine 'ticking' sound whilst riding. Audible on acceleration and decel' too. I'm concerned this will lead to some kind of advanced wear in the engine. It's grating with me so bad I'm considering a change of bike. Otherwise, once maps are developed to sort the lower rev range, it's a nice bike. Have you guys noticed the engine tick?
@@hypermotardking i see ppl say the 698 has more of a "sportbike" suspension compared to others, u feel that's an issue? Handle small jumps here and there?
You guys also added the supercorsas :) I have mine set up the same way. Just had mine out this weekend and streets of willow and 100% agree with you how fun the bike is on track. Also with the quickshifter and full Termi, the sounds the bike makes are just ridiculous 😂 This might be my favorite Ducati I have and I have a V4R, SF SP2 and Pikes Peak V4…
Hello AMS, local DFW and inspiring new rider here. Do you think this would be a good starter bike ? Taking msf course next month and shop soon afterwards.
There are a lot of variables to discuss in that decision. Head into the showroom and ask for Marty. We would love to help guide you in the right direction! 👍
I can't believe you came down to MSRH and did not let me know!!!!! That track is only 35 minutes from me so I could have come to "cheer you on" or "help pick up the pieces" LOL
And just like that - Marty shows me the bike that convinces me that bad back and all - I need another Ducati - Thanks Marty!!!!! Some light "trail" tires and I think she'd be fine on Colorado fire roads - and killer on pavement up there
The Hypermotard 950 is still the best supermoto with everything from joining the sport bikes and adventure touring bikes. The 698 is more of playful young rider, offroad guys to be exact who loves the flying seat height
Had a similar category KTM SMC 690R and traded it for a Hypermotard SP 950R. No regrets. These singles are super fun but I would put them in a category of "Novelty bikes". They are more vibey. They are more uncomfortable. They seem best for local/short spurts and sprints. The Hyper 950R CAN cover more ground--literally and serve as a better all-round bike. To me these are second bikes--but then I do have a second bike: Pikes Peak for wife and travel. Just my opinion but I have owned and used both types for 5000++ miles.
Why, why why can I not find a midsized V or L twin in the SM bike world?? Is Aprilia the only ones to have done it? DuckDuck totally missed the mark by using the thumper single engine configuration. (imo) a 600cc twin would absolutely be badass with a more playful, flick-ier wet weight. Anyone?
The SVX 450/550s weren’t exactly the model for reliably and longevity. I’m hoping they make a plated 450 SM using their MC bike that can handle being dumped in the dirt on occasion.
Sales people dont understand that the best way to sell something is to gain the confidence of the customer by talking about the negatives also. Just saying how wonderful a bike is means Ducati made a mistake producing anything else but this bike! No they didnt, so balance the sales talk with what the target use case is and what its not. Bingo! More aligned salesperson with the customer = more trust. Seems like a really great guy to go for a ride with though...!
I dont get it. Ducati had its own category with the hypermotard. Why end that to get into competition... I was waiting for a new hyper but this aint it 😒
Our apologies about the white balance changing throughout the video. Settings were off on the camera.

950 will power wheelie in 1st with the slightest crack of the throttle. Is the 698 the same way?

How are vibrations at highway speeds?
How would you compare this mono to the 690 SMCR?

Epic review thanks mate
I’ll be getting the 2025 one for riding around Phuket Thailand any idea when it will be released?
Is it possible to put a top case on the back of a 698?
You're showroom is like a museum. I love visiting there. I have a monster love it
Appreciate the compliment. 🙌
I have both.. both great bikes.. had both on the track.. everytime i go the garage inwant to jump on the 698 - says it all
İs SP more comfortable then 698 Mono ?
@@elifelif777 the 698 is more comfy.. but it doesnt mean the 950 isn’t comfy. Both upright nakeds
Could the 698 go off road you think? Gravel and trails?
@@sullythenoob2523 yeah easy. I did the same on my 950 and that’s 200kg.. swap tyres over and jobs done

You get it. It is a RIDICULOUS bike setup that way. So much fun.
The 950 sp is gonna be remebered as a goates bike 😊😊
Great video very informative. That bike is slick. I just ordered one. Greetings from the Uk 😎
So you said 698 is better than the Husky 701?
My dream bike!
I fell the same way, for me it is not an Hypermotard! A Supermoto for my taste!

Great video! A 698 might have to be my next bike. Bet it’s a blast to ride.

by "light trail tires" you mean a terraflex and some deep mud
LFG 🏍💨
Single cut - amazing!
One take Marty !!

There is no place for a duo on the 698 ?
Supermotos (even big ones) aren’t typically ridden two up.

its a good effort no doubt, but give me a Zero DS for a fun urban machine or wait until Stark put out a road legal supermoto . . .
