Great looking setup, super clean! I have a 950SP as well, however I have a BHP tune. Does your bike wheelie easily if you turn off DWC? I feel as if mine is still being hindered from coming up at a moments notice..
Front end is extremely light. I have wheelie control turned off. I have to be careful charging out of corners because it picks the front end likes to come up so rapidly. Deussen tune also allows you to clutch up wheelie.
@@davidgouaze from the research I did before going with Deussen, Upmap users reported lots of negative feedback. Bike not running correctly, flat spots in power delivery, etc. Deussen map is the best you can get for these bikes. Deussen tune has been phenomenal with no issues whatsoever.
When you removed the decat hardware is there any electronics that need to be fooled into thinking it’s still there? I mean a dongle Thank you for your extremely prompt response 👍🏻

I wear Alpinestars boots and an Alpinestars suit every time I ride, I haven’t noticed it being hot at all. When I first got the bike and was cruising around in jeans and boots I didn’t notice it being hot, however it was only like 50 degrees out! 🤣
@@richardburns9772 they’re a great deal too. Visibility isn’t near as good as the stock mirror, but it’s not bad. Right mirror is a bit blurry do to vibration when rpms are up, I just touch the mirror with my throttle hand thumb and it clears it up if I need to see clearly behind me.

I just started following the guys that Tuned yours, seems like they put a lot more effort into it. I may have to switch once they figure out the clutch up issue. Their exhaust looks sick too. Wish I seen it before I ordered scproject 😅

Great video. Question: How is your idel after doing all this? I have done something similar with mine, but I got the Akrapovic pipes, and after I go for a ride, my adle goes up and down from 1.1 to 1.3 on the lines, is like is slightly reving up and down, is that normal? Thanks
@robertaltmanshofer yeah, I mean the bike ride smoother with the new map, but for some reason, at idel it goes up and down after a ride, on a cold start is fine stable at 1.4 rpms or so, but after is like is reving down and up. I've been using ethanol free gasoline since I bought it. Maybe I'll try using 95.
Hello there! I have a 950 as well and I was wondering, did you have to let Deussen know that you will be removing the cat in order to have the appropriate map on it? I would think there would be some parameters to tune for the decat? Are you able to change the map if let’s say you made an air filter change?
@@usart2008 yes, you’ll send him a list of all your mods or mods you’re planning on doing and he will tune for them. If you make changes to air, exhaust, sprocket etc in the future, he can send you another map for the specific mod. Not certain how much he’ll charge for the new map. Reach out to him, he’s great to work with!
I had another related question - it looks like the local dealer makes your purchase the dimsport flashing device? Is this something that can be shared between people and you just pay for the flash? If so, I’m wondering if I can buy it used from you or borrow it from you (I’ll pay you a refundable deposit till I return it)? Trying to see if there is anything I can do to reduce the overall price of a flash
@@usart2008 I’m not 100% certain, but I do not believe you can upload a purchased map to multiple bikes. Even if you could, I believe in supporting the tuner by purchasing their tune, especially a tuner like Daniel at Deussen Engines. A lot of time and effort goes into it.

It is legal in the USA to drive with decat? I got the SC‘s S1 a month ago and in the first Time they was a bit too loud, but after driving 200km they become a good Sound.

The thing that bothers me a little is just that they are always loud, not only when hitting the gas and accelerating hard, literally just always ... I'm coming from a 690 SMC-R Euro 3 which really has a great sound, but the Euro 5 Hyper is just too much ... I seriously can't imagine that it is within the legal tolerance, scince it's supposed to be 93 dB ... I somehow never got in trouble with them, but I also never had a measurement ... I live in Germany, ride in Berlin and the surrounding areas a lot but have also been to Austria (Tirol were they have forbidden Motorcycles that are louder than 95 dB in the papers), Italy and France ... lately I had a friend ride it while I was standing on the side of the road, and it still was loud but not in a way that you felt like your ears would fall off .... idk, maybe it is just that extremely loud to the rider ... nevertheless I sometimes feel a little bad when going through small villages or maneuvering at tourist/busy areas ... since I sometimes feel like being the kind of motorcycle rider that is disliked cause of the noise ... which causes more and more ppl to freak out, more forbidden areas, more problems with police and everything ...
@@TheTIM2000 I’ve heard many people say the SC Project pipes are extremely loud even with the catalytic converter. The Termignoni pipes I have were very tame with the catalytic converter, I even thought about getting SC project pipes for a while. Now that I did the decat, Termignoni pipes sound perfect! They’re significantly louder, but they’re not overkill. With the Deussen tune they crackle and pop on deceleration, again it’s not overkill but makes it sound incredible. I couldn’t be happier with the setup. I like having louder pipes, if people want to stereotype me that’s their problem. I live in a state that doesn’t enforce any sort of exhaust decibel laws, I couldn’t imagine having the government dictate what parts I can and can’t put on my motorcycle.
Great video but Is that not the wrong decat pipe for your bike?? I’ve been looking at these myself and Mivv do 2 different ones. One for the older bikes with springs that hold the sections together and the other with clamps for the newer bikes. I’m surprised that they fit together tbh but I suppose if it works it doesn’t matter.
@@matthewferguson8257 I ordered this one specifically for my 2023 model from Andreani USA. The shape of the older 2019-2020 decat pipes is different. The clamps work great and the fit was perfect, no issues.
@@FitRob87The American market hypers must be different to euro bikes as a 23 bike in the uk uses clamp connections on the cat/ decat and yours is a 23 with springs. I was just surprised it fit as I know the other way round (spring version decat onto clamped exhaust doesn’t fit).

Does the deleting of the catalytic converter affect your license/permission or insurance? If you would do the same in Germany, you would automatically lose your permission and insurance.

I always ride with my Alpinestars boots and I never noticed a lot of heat from the cat and I don’t notice heat from the exhaust with the decat pipe. In theory it should be putting out less heat with the decat pipe. I’ve been riding all summer and the heat has never even caught my attention. Are your riding in regular shoes?
@@MasterOfTorque6871 thanks for the support! Deussen tune makes the bike run like it should have from the factory. Low RPM throttle is a lot less choppy and much smoother. Power delivery is more linear down low and in the mid range RPMs. A little more power, although being at 5,500 elevation makes a small bump in power almost impossible to perceive. Bike runs great overall, and the pops and crackles on deceleration are awesome. Really happy I did the tune and decat.

@@theperipateticgumshoe9047 it’s a Mivv decat pipe. It came with clamps even though the stock pipe is meant for springs. The clamps that come with the decat pipe will work with no issue.

I think with 25 more hp and a healthy bump in torque it would be absolutely perfect. That being said, I love the bike and encourage anyone considering a purchase to test ride one. Once you start riding the bike really hard on twisties and hills or track it you will realize the low end is jerky and weak because of the emisions. Also the clutch up wheelies are not possible without the tune. Thats what the tune mainly sorts out.
@@pavolkurilla5614 it made a significant difference, especially in the low RPM range. The way the bike runs with the decat and tune is ideally how the bike should have come from the factory. Very happy with the bike now!

Did you leave the servo motor in and just pull the cable from it? or pulled the servo and unclipped the electronics?
Just disconnected the cable and put the servo motor back in place and left the plug connected.

thanks, I was told by my dealer that removal would decrease the heat....so thanks for saving me $

@@renzo908 that’s really odd, my bike idles perfect after the decat and tune. A lot smoother down low in the RPMs as well, less chuggy.

Is the hardware made of cheese on this bike like the Desert X? They seem to strip out easily.

All the link pipes I found were meant for clips instead of springs. Did you find one for clamps or does it not matter? Which pipe did you use?

@@pavolkurilla5614 it made a significant difference, especially in the low RPM range. The way the bike runs with the decat and tune is ideally how the bike should have come from the factory. Very happy with the bike now!
