I enjoyed this story so much.
To realize I love story like this but it's not necessarily a bad ending but very much ominous and forebloating.
Dimension that's always a chance for a continuation because the person now has to wait for the day that favored comes in.

For a moment, I thought he would become somewhat a pet of that bird guy, not kidnapped but at the command of them, and maybe he would.learn more about their family, like a special case and exemption. 😅
The family felt like somewhat a protector of the town (unless you cross their boundary) and the other deer like creatures (i bet they're wendigos) are one of the threats to the town.
That was a fairly unique story. Wonder if it has sequels. Kinda fell in love with the tone and setting.

I need to know more about the Hautfells (skinfur, i liked it). I got the vibe of a family evil warlock types, whose job is to keep an even bigger evil in check.

Whoever wrote this I congratulate you for actually knowing what a skinwalkers is! As a Native American it's super annoying people seem to think it's like a werewolf. It's a shapeshifting witch wearing animal skins
What does he do?
I lived in Ganado on the Navajo reservation and worked at the hospital there. I saw many odd and eerie things, but twice, with my oldest son (27) saw skin walkers, it looked like a half man, half dog with a man's face. My youngest son (12) and I saw a something on the side of the road about 8 feet or more tall. I wanted to turn around and investigate, but he was too scared. He learned to speak some Navajo at school. He said "It sure wasn't Spider Woman".
Skinwalkers do not exist. Neither do crawlers or wendigos nor the rake nor any other cryptid monsters. People see things. Paradoellia acclunta for much of sightings. Stress and predisposed metal state accounts for much more. If yiu think it's a sminwalker, you will see a skinwalker. Doesn't mean they exist but in your mind it exists.
It sounded like to me that he was explaining and describing a Windigo?

I'd love for LHH to narrate "The Dresden Files", I think he'd give the narrator for the audio books a run for his money.

Trapang 2 was beautiful on PC, sure it looks sick on Xbox.
I wish the narrative was stronger and much more developed, but it's gunplay is fantastic and it's likely the closest thing I'll get to a proper sequel to the original FEAR, which is still worth a play through, especially with the modern graphics mods.
Creepy family stories are one of my favorites. Please tell me this is going to be a series.

this story was lots of fun to listen to!!! i suspected that aderyn was going to be some kind of bird-related monster the moment we got his name. aderyn means bird; i only know that because i’m a writer who needed a bird-themed name for a character once 🤣 great work all around!!

I know I have said this before about your videos but this is one of the most bizarre and disturbingly wonderful stories I’ve ever heard.
Man I would love to buy you a midnight snack at a waffle House in the middle of nowhere surrounded by woods and just listen to some of your more morbid stories. I love morbid, sadly you don't really dabble in that field. But none the less your ramblings are still an enjoyable tone to my ears.

Sounds like the Hautfells were a family of Skinwalkers having a turf war with a clan Wendigos. Interesting idea. Well done author.
Great story. You should do a cop universe crossover with Jordan Grupe and his sheriff's department. That would be pretty cool.
To be fair Adyren already owed a favor to the cop. The cop got his partner to stop hassling Adyren while he just stood there looking shady. While one favor is far more useful than the other, it's still worth noting. At the most he owes him half of a favor.
Saving him the first time by telling him not to cross the border probably repaid that.
This was a really fantastic and enjoyable story, as well as being excellently narrated as usual. Thanks for all the content!

What a perfectly delightful story!! Told by the finest storyteller of horror I've yet come across! Drew me in so quickly, I was shocked when it ended so abruptly. Sure didn't seem like 36 minutes to me! I'd love to hear more about this family and the poor deputy if the author has more of them to offer.

IMO 1am to 4am are creepy hours especially 2am and 3 am too quiet..5am pretty much starts the day ...streets start coming alive people going to work.
It's not the witching hour, the hour is more closer to JESUS and THE FATHER than satan and the helpers , where is THE FATHER AND JESUS theres no darkness but if it in the heart theres no light and love doesn't work and GOD ISN'T THERE CAUSE THE PERSON DON'T BELIEVE.

Chemistry? The birdman insinuated threats on the deputy’s life! He basically forced an unwanted and unnecessary debt upon him. If meant fear and dislike, then yes. Otherwise, I suggest you stop taking whatever drug you’re on and come back to reality with the rest of us. There’s no insinuation of romance or anything like that.
