- In Episode 198 of Mike Finnegan's Garage we make a big push to finally get my wife's 21ft Eliminator Daytona jet boat read to rip the lake. We've got less than a week to make it run and then water test this rocket before I leave on a cross country roadtrip family vacation. This video will show you the Holley Dominator Electronic Fuel Injection system, Earle's Speedflex fittings and hoses, Speedwires relay/switching system, and some trick Motion Raceworks goodies like the stainless steel wastegate mounts. Special thanks to Kelvy Limon for dropping by to wire the entire boat and get the Texas Speed 427 LSX engine fired up for the very first time.

@@jayvan475 Garrett didn't want to have to carry 2 spares on his race week events. By not using mirrors he can save the expense, space and weight of the extra turbo. But I agree, mirrors absolutely look better!

Game Over was awesome because it’s over the top styling and motor and turbos just everywhere. This boat is awesome in the polar opposite kind of way. Everything so clean and compact in a “beware of the quiet one” style. Plus the hull lines and color scheme are beautiful.

I've heard you talking about back purging many times before. Thank you for showing this example of sugaring and explaining the significance. I thought it was just for a cleaner stronger weld. Knowing why it's needed and the particular metals is nice. Thanks for how in depth you go with all of your videos.

That's what I was thinking. It looks like it can just be resituated the hold down would still work just like it's designed.
or the hold down could be modded to a plate to pull the battery against the bulkhead horizontally.

The joys of being married to a car guy or gal and living above the shop we're currently living in the loft of my shop while putting a new roof on the house that the storm took off and smashed my hotrod I had packed up for a trip and my daily a week ago currently my daily is my 98 Chevy V2500 with a 454 4l80e 258k miles and geared to pull an 80s model 45 ft triple axle gooseneck loaded with as much scrap iron as we can stack and chain to it or 7 to 8 antique tractors depending on the ones we take to the show

You should put an idler on it to help tension that belt so it doesn't go "VW Bug at 70mph" and flip the belt inside out on you or kick it off.
As long as it has proper tension it'll be fine I've never had that problem on any VW's not even my Baja bugs or my sandrails
@@davidwoermansr then you are incredibly lucky because it happened to my sister a couple times and I've seen it happen to a bunch of people on the side of the road... It could partly have to do with how damn hot it gets here in the Sacramento Valley in summer.. 105 with 15% humidity is normal.
@@OtisENGINEuity I drove one around Oceanside for a little over four years then Houston TX a year I've been all over in bugs the only problem I had was rebuilding a carb on the side of the road everytime it would backfire it would blow the powervalve out

when purging you can lick your knuckle and hold it to the pin where the argon is coming out of and if its cold on your knuckle it means you are ready to weld and the system is purged

Might want to run a burst panel chimney. Having that thing pointed right at the passengers and a fuel line may not be a great idea. Backfires that'd burst those things are no joke.
