Try the squigmar airbrush from your fellow miniature TH-cam painter to replace broken one3. Perhaps even inviting him/them to the army painting with miniac LOL, as they do a few 24hr sessions as well
I think the hammer guy needs to be lighter towards the centre, almost like molten metal but blue, right now it just looks like a...blue hammer, unfortunately
You are a stronger man than I am. I would probably spend the money on a new box of plastic before I would ever think about taking a saw to one of my finished models.
you can get much finer kerfs using photoetched saw blades, i've had good success with Tamiya 74094, the blades don't last all that long, but they do a fantastic job whilst they're still sharp.
I had to look away during that first procedure. I couldn't be so brave, especially after such a great paint job. I'd have to buy new ones. The results were fantastic though
When I want interchangeable weapons and I don’t want to cut and waste parts, I simply cast spares or I 3D some proxies. A lot of mini designers now offer accessories for their sculpts so it’s a great way to add different weapon load outs for your minis. If you do need smallness and precision for cuts, think about making your own hot wire cutter with an extra fine wire blade or use a thin cutoff wheel for your Dremel. I usually buy a heap of small Dremel cutoff wheels and they work great on plastic.
I want my Raven Guard twin lighting claws back. If they want us to buy more White Dwarf magazines, then give us a special divergent chapter units, for RG or other chapters that have great lore but no in game benefits.
if you're going to end up with 20 total bretheren I'd reccomend getting a hold of some of the calibanite greatswords from the dark angels inner circle companions. they're nice meaty two handed power swords with robed arms and I think the aesthetic really blends nicely between the companions and the bretheren, sort of like cousin groups within the knightly marines. They could easilly stand in as thunder hammers so you still have guys with clearly more beefy weapons but every brother has his own unique style
I can understand why people don't want do go through the extra work of magnetizing, but man am I happy knowing, that I can now just switch everything around without much hassle and having to cut my miniatures apart 😅
If you're doing any more re-modelling of your Templars then I'd recommend Greenstuff Worlds brush on black primer. It's great stuff! Also those guys look a lot cooler with all the extra special weapons on. 💯
Dang Jay we keep doing the same thing at the same time. I was magnetizing assualt intercessors' backpacks when that video dropped. I was building Venomthropes with no torso bits when that video dropped. Now I'm doing plastic surgery to turn my Deathwatch Astartes into Raptors and Blood Angels.
wrt the Combi-weapon, it is worth noting that it is Anti-Infantry 4+. So, in Rapid Fire range (1/2 of its 24") , it is a Devastating wound each round, on average. OTOH, it isn't a Pistol, so you're only making that roll before your charge. Perfectly reasonable to stay with the Heavy Bolter Pistol, regardless.
I appreciate the varied loadouts. I try to make all my minis feel like little characters with a unique loadout and personality, WYSIWYG and points costs be damned. Never let the rules dictate your hobby, build your models to be the coolest they can be.
I know it's a 'lightning' colour but I never liked blue for the lightning claws, I always think of them as being like molten metal, fire to white due to the sheer heat of them as they are powered up
That's what I'm looking to do for my Drakken unit (dragon themed Wulfen for my homebrew chapter), they are armed with Lightning Claws, but using molten colors.
jay still not completely understanding combi weapons i guess^^. @EonsOfBattle you have anti infantry 4+ on them, so if you shoot at infantry they do dev wounds on 4+
I love kitbashing my space marines like this but also, I'm still trying to get better at playing 40k quickly, and having 3+ weapon profiles on a unit of infantry does not help with that. I'd rather roll a bunch of dice and do a bunch of wounds then miss, miss, kill 1 guy, kill 2 guys, miss, miss...
I have to say, dislike that so many of the lighting claws have the "Wolverine" pose (Sword Brethern, Deathwing...) would love some more dynamic claws lol. The annoying bit with the sword brethern and BT figs is that the back of the hand is missing which makes "option b" unusable if you build "a" etc 😞
I don't like combi-weapons this edition, but they're 1 shot with rapid fire, hit on 4s, anti-infantry, and dev wounds. Meaning they trigger devs against infantry on a 4+
Fully i feel like free wargear makes the base weapons feel even worse. I feel like you should be allowed more, like a percent of the squad gets free but any more should be paid for. Mainly because stuff like scourges and kabalites from drukhari. Ive never used splinter cannons and rifles now just feel bad to shoot.
You have to work hard these days to add some flavor to your specific space marine chapters since GW really can't be bothered these days but once done, you really have something nice to display and game with. And with all this Primaris sameness going on, chapters like the long forgotten Red Scorpions aren't so unique anymore.
Nooooo! Don't touch a finished model! Buy new ones, so the old ones still live and keep their own history. I know, I know, it is quite expensive, but this is a hobby of collecting, you'll buy new models anyway - especially you Jay, you love buying new BT ;)
As someone who has a bunch of guard troopers I love adding more detail to old 'finished' models. Lately I add some more detail to one old model for every 3-4 new ones I've painted. I just love how it makes the collection a bit more cohesive :)
Considering that they unified the weapon profile to “power weapon” I’m disappointed that the new kits haven’t come with more weapons like sabers, axes and maces or mauls. Before long the sword brethren and heresy kits will be the only place to source power weapons but I will hold out hope for a vanguard veteran kit in a few years
This is actually why I stopped collecting custodes, each one of them is meant to be a lone epic hero, but on the tabletop they have 3 weapon options, and when you look at them you don’t see a group of singular, peerless warriors, you see tactical marines who are painted gold who all have the same spear, axe, or sword and shield.

Combi Weapons do critical wounds against Infantry on 4+, so not half Bad. Your choice of not taking it is alright aswell, you did a fantastic job
Cuts apart finished minis to make WYSIWYG, later admits he still has 10 more still on the sprue! You madlad Jay, keep it up 😂
For the Combi-weapon, anti infantry 4+ combined with dev wounds means you get dev wounds on a 4+ against infantry
7:28 you're not actually down a power sword and a pistol.you can still use them for terrain
"I can't imagine Games Workshop is ever going to go back on free wargear." 🤣
This guy is delusional xDD
Looking good. Would love to see Jay paint a Salamander Squad with their own unique hand crafted and personal weapons and armour looks
I think the hammer guy needs to be lighter towards the centre, almost like molten metal but blue, right now it just looks like a...blue hammer, unfortunately

Honestly your work is always so amazing and inspirational.
I just love your content and enthusiasm for everything you do
2:24 my heart stopped working
Same

Nice job! Do magnets on the next 10. You never know the combi weapon might be great! 😂
I had to look away during that first procedure. I couldn't be so brave, especially after such a great paint job. I'd have to buy new ones. The results were fantastic though
Get some Skitarri painted Jay!
Flame pistols are S3 and the combi weapons are anti infantry 4+ therefore 4+ is a dev wound to infantry so pretty good for free!
Jay and rules were never a good match lol
The pyre pistol is s4 brother
Im only 2:30 into this and its probably the most anxious ive ever been. But i have faith in you Jay!
That effect of putting down blue and then drybrushing silver and dark silver over is both surprisingly simple and surprisingly effective. Nicely done!
Magnets are your best friend - I play a lot of tournaments, and magnets are a life saver, when changing loadouts between games/editions :)
When I want interchangeable weapons and I don’t want to cut and waste parts, I simply cast spares or I 3D some proxies. Brush on primer is underrated! I mean yea a spray primer may be better but brush on primer helps
Please Jay paint skitarii,WE NEED IT.
Can you call 2 squads spam? Assembled those boxes!
Nice job, only thing I can complain about is that you didn't use magnets while at it, just in case you wanna swap the weapons again later on :D
9:54 looks like a michael vsauce intro
"I assembled this plasma gun in the Han Solo configuration"

Please can we have a studio tour Jay?
Maybe the real Eons of Battle was the friends we made along the way
I want my Raven Guard twin lighting claws back. If they want us to buy more White Dwarf magazines, then give us a special divergent chapter units, for RG or other chapters that have great lore but no in game benefits.
This hurts me mentally and probably physically

Clean modifications 👍
That's why you should magnetize your minis (at least those that have options)
I can understand why people don't want do go through the extra work of magnetizing, but man am I happy knowing, that I can now just switch everything around without much hassle and having to cut my miniatures apart 😅
All that work to cut up models to not magnetise them. 😂
Please do a grimaldus. The squad needs him
If you're doing any more re-modelling of your Templars then I'd recommend Greenstuff Worlds brush on black primer. It's great stuff! Also those guys look a lot cooler with all the extra special weapons on. 💯
I envy EoB.
He really enjoy this life.😮😢❤❤❤
Mate cuts up his amazing minis and all the comments are just paint requests. Chill out people!
Any reason for not magnetizing? Could have been cool to be able to swap back in the old and new. Looks great though!!!
As amusing as the marine named "Seansbane" is, I feel it is a slight missed opportunity to name your dice set that instead.
Oh yay, it’s WednesJay
Havent had a pot of brush on primer for years but this made me reconsider, what if i start chopping weapons too 😅
Currently doing the same thing with my Death Company and Sanguinary Guard. It's oddly satisfying
Cutting up a finished model is koo koo bananas.
Jay, you're insane. Stay awesome!

Started guard loading them with toys listening to people tell me to go all Las rifles.
😎😎😎😎
@@joshy7759 a based and respectable move.
I genuinely wish i could do this but i have OCD and if my minis arent wysiwig i just cant use them😔
@@wierdnobzplayz3370I feel your pain.
Amazing work!
Jay you should play Stargrave. I will literally mail you my copy of the book overseas. That’s how confident I am that you’ll like it.
I know it's a 'lightning' colour but I never liked blue for the lightning claws, I always think of them as being like molten metal, fire to white due to the sheer heat of them as they are powered up
I like your head cannon 👍
That's what I'm looking to do for my Drakken unit (dragon themed Wulfen for my homebrew chapter), they are armed with Lightning Claws, but using molten colors.
That spare painted sword would work great with a 'sword in the stone' base
Jay the combi weapon has anti infantry… that means dev wounds triggers on THAT role (4+ i think). Right??
More to kitbash
Great work Jay! What will you do when 11th (or 12th) edition undoes all your hard work?
The combi weapon has anti-infantry 4+. So you should trigger devastating wounds on infantry on a 4+.
I have a challenge for you...
"Truescale" up your old Black Templars while doing as little damage to the old paint schemes as possible.
Combi weapons are also anti-infantry 4+, which means you hit devastating wounds on a 4+ against infantry.
If you run the sword brother with Combi-weapon with helbrecht you'll hit devastating wounds on 5
Announced on NOVA this weekend: yooo we heard you, we returning to points for wargear today!
I wish they would bring back war gear costs.
Great video as always
If your kombi weapon is the same as the orks one it has anti-infantry 4+ meaning it'll score a devastating wound on 4+, not on 6s
OOOH These gave me some ideas for my bladeguard veterans
jay still not completely understanding combi weapons i guess^^. @EonsOfBattle you have anti infantry 4+ on them, so if you shoot at infantry they do dev wounds on 4+

The whole video I was thinking that I would just buy new ones and leave the already made ones as they are, then I got to the end XD
Jay you are mad XD
this is why I love my magnets
Can you make a video on how you store your sprues?
I know this has been answered somewhere, but where do you get the brass nameplates?
I have to say, dislike that so many of the lighting claws have the "Wolverine" pose (Sword Brethern, Deathwing...) would love some more dynamic claws lol. The annoying bit with the sword brethern and BT figs is that the back of the hand is missing which makes "option b" unusable if you build "a" etc 😞
You should make a custode army I would love to see what you would do
I love your content
Do nightlords please
(The kill team when it comes out)
i tried black templar contrast i cant get it right tho so i just started useing mat black but those goober look so good :(
@9:54 It me! 🥰
I don't like combi-weapons this edition, but they're 1 shot with rapid fire, hit on 4s, anti-infantry, and dev wounds. Meaning they trigger devs against infantry on a 4+
I'm loving how the new blood angels codex looks. It looks fun, but not so strong it makes games not fun.
I assumed you were going to Magnetize the arms so that you wouldn’t have to destroy the nicely painted ones. Was this not an option?!
I got a qu3stions are the terrain that they sell are they stls or printed resin that they deliver?
Are those name plates stls? where can I get some?

never heard of the Black Templar before, are they related to the Black TemplarS?
Brother, your arm's off.
No, it isn't.
Well, what's that then?
I've had worse.
T'is but a scratch!
What you gonna do...bleed on me?
When do we get the evil weighted Sean dice?
great vid
Jay should be in the Henri canvil warhammer tv show as a mechanicus adepte
2:58 Maybe because warhammers are masively oversized in all Fantasy/Sci-fi settings when compared to real live weapons?
HLTV confirmed theme in the background made me really confused for a bit haha
This is basically as close to heresy as you can get!
I will send you Skitarri if it will break the cycle...lol
in an edition where so many things are 'once per battle', combi-weapons not being a once per battle plasma shot is baffling.

Yeah I repainted my first army. Then realised I could have had twice the force (yes I have more than than in boxes) AND kept my nostalgia force!
