Tyranids have a great counter to this, Barbgaunts! You could easily fit in 3 full units, pumping out a minimum of 5 shots per model against a full strength boyz unit. On average, you are looking at 70 St5 shots per even before sustained hits. And you are slowing the Orks down, which is never a bad thing!

This might be a little cheeky but 18 deffkoptas, 20 burna boyz, and 2 mek guns being led by big mek w/ shock attack gun. The deffkoptas make a normal move over the green tide squads stacking up mortal wounds, then shoot into fresh squads with rockits. averaging 8-12 kills, then charging in and averaging another 8-12 kills. Burna boys averge about 4-8 in shoot phase. Mek guns i can't even give an estimate they're all over the board but re rolling 1 on their hit for ranged attacks is really good.
I feel like sisters got this. 3x 10 seraphim with 8 handflamers per unit is only 420 points and 24d6 of auto hits. Add an exorcist and more flamers and simply overwhelm with sheer weight of dice.
I love the Orks made from the Blood Bowl Orcs teammodels! I have to steal this idea. I also need to do something with the older BB models of the previous version that I have..💚
50 Berserkers lead by Kharn is exactly 1000 pts. 5 attacks and strength 6 on the charge. The feel no pain and lethal or sustained on the blessings. Plus whatever chip you can do with the plasma and bolt pistols. I reckon theyd have a shot at mauling the Boyz.
Theorycrafting on planet bowling ball, with mild rigor from UnitCrunch: 1020 point budget: The full Marneus Calgar + Harmacist + Aggressors Gladius brick in Dev doctrine: Kills 20 boys in shooting, Marneus' shooting and the squad's charge kill 15. 2 Gladiator Reapers onto the oath target kill 22 on average out of 20. Dakka Redemptor kills 8 in shooting and 7 with tank shock and melee. 75 dead turn 1. Orks charge back and A of C on Marneus means 2 dead aggressors, and like 5 wounds off each of the vehicles, and with good positioning, the vehicles can Tactical doctrine and keep killing (and possibly even Calgar can desperate escape later), so now that the WAAAGH is weathered, it's all downhill for the Orks from here. Even the with the reroll wounds strat, boyz without a boss have a little trouble punching up.
a few units of GSC jackals would do the trick. You have to roll a D6 per model in the target unit, on a 4+ they get a mortal. So statistically you need 2 units per unit of orks but you could also use a few acolytes bomb squad for good measure.
This might be one of the few times you'd want any Toxicrines, let alone 3. The amount of Mortal Wounds they can dump on multiple units in range should help a lot, plus a sizable number of attacks in range and melee all wounding on 2s. Barbgaunts as well. D6 attacks per model with blast is a lot of dice. Heavy and sustained can make a lot of those go through to the wound rolls. Wounding on 5s is the main issue, but maybe a Neurolictor or two along with Shadow in the Warp can potentially help with that? Those Genestealers I think are probably a very solid bet too.
Theory-crafting here, but a Fists unit of boltstorm aggressors w/ Biologis and sustained, plus Tor, should be able to inflict a massive amount of saving rolls per unit, plus more or less mulch a unit in melee. Surviving the next turn is optional.
Could try Chaos Knights: Despoiler with Double Chain Gatling and Flamers plus the Havoc Missle Pod and Heavy Stubber. Then 4 Karnivores with the Havoc Launchers to charge in for some melee goodness.
I'd want to try the same with my Necrons. Tesla immortals led by plasmancers in the canoptek court, backed up with Annhilation Barges and maybe some Lokhust Heavies with the enmitic exterminators. Might maybe be enough.
It's been a long while since I've had a Tabletop Tactics video come through my feed, and this one did NOT disappoint.... I do wonder how B Bone is doing, if he's still around.
more things that will stop (ork) hordes. Lokhust Heavy Destroyers, Acolyte Hybrids , Gladiator Reaper, Mortifiers, also any units where all models have blast or torrent weapons, and or units with lots of lethal attacks. Its a skew list, but there are several meta lists who can kill it rather quick so...
I feel like a combo of three Gladiator reapers and 3 full squads of boltstorm aggressors might have a been funny thing to try as well. With the Reapers getting sustained 2 against infantry and the boltstorm shenanigans of Gladius on one of the squads.

I'd almost want to try a game of 120 boys vs my guard infantry :D If nothing else, it would look awesome on the table xD
Hahaha that would be quite the spectacle!! - Bard
I feel like sisters got this. 3x 10 seraphim with 8 handflamers per unit is only 420 points and 24d6 of auto hits. Add an exorcist and more flamers and simply overwhelm with sheer weight of dice.
That was very silly, I loved it.
That ending was glorious. The boiz iz back in town indeed
Guess who just got back today! Those wild eyed 120 boys that had been away 😂 - Bard
@tabletoptactics if the boys wanna fight you better let em! You all are great 😊 thanks for all you do
I loved this!
I feel like I'm with friends having a great time! Thank you
Theorycrafting on planet bowling ball, with mild rigor from UnitCrunch:
1020 point budget:
The full Marneus Calgar + Harmacist + Aggressors Gladius brick in Dev doctrine: Kills 20 boys in shooting, Marneus' shooting and the squad's charge kill 15.
So statistically you need 2 units per unit of orks but you could also use a few acolytes bomb squad for good measure.
that was one hell of an ending
0:09 Wait a minute. I recognize that plumb on that model on the right, that's a blood bowl orc blitzer, that's an awesome kitbash!
Omg i can finally use all my boys, they all have red boots
If I added up right that was only just 1020pts. THAT IS INSANE!!!!!
Theory-crafting here, but a Fists unit of boltstorm aggressors w/ Biologis and sustained, plus Tor, should be able to inflict a massive amount of saving rolls per unit, plus more or less mulch a unit in melee. Surviving the next turn is optional.
This is the content we all live for :D
Yasss!! So glad you enjoyed buddy! - Bard
I set my TH-cam speed to 0.25 earlier for reasons and forgot.. made the start of this interesting!!
Nuffle was definitely with the Orks today.
If you believe the lore, a single wounded space marine
Would have been great to see an attempt with Punishers with triple heavy flamers and stubbers! 🔥
The scariest thing about 120 ork boyz is the dent in your wallet
Usually watch @playontabletop. Hearing one of these videos in British is a very different feel. Much more lighthearte
Such a great idea to throw out little videos shine little scenarios like this please please please please can we see more of this thank you😊
It's been a long while since I've had a Tabletop Tactics video come through my feed, and this one did NOT disappoint....
I do wonder how B Bone is doing, if he's still around.
more things that will stop (ork) hordes. Lokhust Heavy Destroyers, Acolyte Hybrids
, Gladiator Reaper, Mortifiers, also any units where all models have blast or torrent weapons, and or units with lots of lethal attacks.
Its a skew list, but there are several meta lists who can kill it rather quick so...
lol that montage at the end, this is the best video you have ever done
Would've loved to see Angron take a swing at it
I feel like a combo of three Gladiator reapers and 3 full squads of boltstorm aggressors might have a been funny thing to try as well. With the Reapers getting sustained 2 against infantry and the boltstorm shenanigans of Gladius on one of the squads.
