Magnitizing all 7 forms?! Wasn't there a kit before this that let you have 2 of the kits by flipping the turret?
@@codykrueger796that was the Armorcast that had a Baneblade /Shadowsword combo that had 2 inserts to make it the one or the other(one of those resides on my shelf unbuilt).
😢baneblade magnetizing kit is sold out what do I do?
You know what? I'm gonna say it.
IT IS...THE BANEBLADE!
Jay! Do you think you could make a tutorial video on magnetizing a Baneblade!? This was great, and I want to go this too, but will need a bit more specific instructions.
You gotta drop a written instruction set for this project. IG players everywhere would hold it like the Mekboyz Scripture
Infantry mans primer???
You got the video, you got imagination and you got GW kits experience. Go for it, my man. Believe in yourself 💪
Nothing nearly so... imperial sanctioned by GW. Clearly the work of a mekboss with a dream.@@1noduncle
@@d-emprahexpects You first!
Or search "Octoblade"
As someone who still has my baneblade kit in box in my pile of shame, I was thoroughly surprised at how large it was. I don't think I realized just how big a baneblade was until then
*Looks at my 3 GW plastic, 1 FW resin Baneblade and 1 plastic Shadowsword*
Yeah, they are pretty big.
@@SonsOfLorgarkitbash them all together into the single greatest tank/thingy/abomination ever
Have a shadow sword 3 baneblades and the new mixed kit not to mention a cadian shock troop army from 2002 still in the army deal box
Me neither until I saw one in person. Always get the glamor shots but nothing to give it a sense of scale. The thing is like putting a shoe box down on the table. It's huge.
@@Asageun It will not even fit on table, have some mercy!
Fully magnetizing a Baneblade for your rival who always crushes you? Jay is both a world class friend and very desperate to lose.
Losing is the most valuable thing in the world you learn everything they learn nothing
The assumption would be that they're playing on a field large enough to even put that monstrous thing!
@@darkowl9 even on a small field just find a spot in your spawn zone to plop it down and then just leave it there raining death on the enemy, and if your enemy doesn't position to engage it then that works for huge area denial, and if they kill your other units eventually they'll HAVE to attack it
Jay helping his enemy construct the deadly machines which will inevitably demolish him next weekend, truly a selfless hero
This guide needs to be made into a PDF
10:20 I see you missed a single weapon... By glueing the turret bustle on the back of the turret, you have removed the ability to mount the single fixed rear mounted Lasgun...
What I did for my Predators was put magnets on the body, but just small steel washers on the weapon options. Then you don't need to worry about polarity.
Genius
That's good thinking, Batman.
I do a similar thing to magnetize heads on my infantry (but with steel nails instead of washers) bc ive been screwed by incorrect polarity so many times
Dude
I will probably never paint or build a model together but i still watch every of your videos. They are somehow therapeutic and i just like to listen to Jays voice. Keep on the good work!
I thought the same, but now i have somehow 8 kill teams ready :D
I've spent about ~$550 on the plastic crack but save yourself the money get 3D printed resin models instead it's cheaper and easier to get into the wargaming hobby but there will be snobs that refuse to play with you because you didn't spend the ridiculous amounts of money to build a "legit" army
any good shop which ships to europe?
@@theamericanslav2018
Give it a go, even if you never play that unit in a game building and painting is a fun fulfilling process
Why not go into a GW store near you and say hi and say you are new? The staff will let you play w bit and even let you paint a mini. They will also try to sell you a lot of stuff. But at least you can paint a mini. :)
I am genuinely impressed by the hobby skills showcased on this channel. I would never have been able to do this loo
Pre-drilled hole are norm for Gunpla kits, coming from years of building Gundam models, seeing how GW does theirs is wild.
GW will do anything to cut corners lol.
@@lordsheogorath3377 more like GW still producing minis like it's the 80's
@@blackdevil72 Similarly priced Gunpla in the 80s were better than GW models both then and now lol.
Gunpla enjoyers have it good.
Considering Gundam fans now have the MGEX line, Strike Freedom, Unicorn, and RX-78-2 Gundam. The two color plastic sprue injection is fucking neat. @@Fuzzycat16
A trick I use is to get a sheet of 24 gauge sheet metal (make sure it's magnetic) then get a sheet metal punch kit for my typical magnet sizes. Punch out a bunch of discs corresponding to magnet sizes and use those instead of a second magnet. As long as your contact point between the magnets and the punched out sheet is mostly flush the pull force should match that of magnet on magnet. Now you don't have to worry about polarity nor do you have to drill as deep! Typically I put the metal on the switching component (the cannons in this case) and the magnet on the body of the model.
I've been an IG player for over a decade but never felt confident enough to tackle this kit. I finally put one on my Christmas list this year, and was already planning on setting it up for 2-3 magnetization options. This video has totally inspired me to do the complete magnetization of the kit... Thank you!!
I have to admire the sheer dedication of doing all that just so you get parking lot'd even harder
2:10 meanwhile at Bandai, in the 2000s: our sprue is not only going to be multi-colour (which we already figured out in the 80s), it's going to inject in such a way that the piece will come off as a MOVING part
Your model building skills are really top tier.
Amazing.
+1 for the kilt
+1 another one for the triple/double windows when showing painting stuff quickly so cool to watch
You have come a long way, man. Great job. Keep it up🫡
I'm very impressed with your engineering skills in getting all these kits the way you want lol. Good job bro.
That is a very impressive model, I can remember a time long, long ago when the only way to have a "40k scale" Baneblade tank was to scratch build one using the templates provided by GW in the pages of White Dwarf, those were heady days indeed! Then a year or so after those articles the first ever all resin (smelly resin) kit was produced by Forge World in their early years and then the rest is history, long time 40k players know...the rest of the story with this particular subject.
Issue #132 of White Dwarf I believe
@@elrondorio Good call!

Stop making yourself scared over nothing
The dumbest part is that we are already getting all the parts, and they just want us to throw them away, because most people aren't going to buy 9 Baneblades.
Look at the new HH Plastic kits. They come magnet ready

Really nice work ! Hope to see this one painted soon ! I made and paint this beauty fully magnetised too last year, take me about 150-170 hours, but that was worth it ! As a non-player, i am really proud of this amazing clipboard i can change the skin whenever i want
00:39 It was made in a factory, a bomb factory. It's a bomb.
"Ok I will ordere my banebladde to attak your tyranids"
*Bulls out a bucket if dices*
I built this and magnetised it completely to allow for all variations, including the sponsons being in any position. Sold it on eBay. I found that on the flat side pieces you put magnets on the inside and use flat steel strip on the sponsons and side panels
I wish I had watched this video before building mine that I'd had in a cupboard for nearly a year and only put together last month. There are so many parts left over its unreal.
Good job man.
Looking forward to see Jay use the same Milwaukee tools I use as a woodworker on tiny plastic models 😂😊❤
I'm finding this quite interesting to watch after magnetizing my own Baneblade, my one use slightly less magnets but Im getting some ideas for improvements for mine
1:08 Gunpla builders: Oh you sweet summer child...
i know nothing about warhammer...but man do i love watching yall work...and your sponsor will be amazing for me and my inventing work
Shawn, is the Baneblade painted yet? That tank is awesome with all the options!! To bad your reaver is just gonna step on that tank. Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
One of my favorite kits of all time from GW. I've built a few over the years, back in the day you used to be able to order the side sponson sprues separately so you could have multiple guns along the sides.
Pickup up 3 of those bad boys when they first came out. 2 were going to be baneblades of some sort and 1 was going to be Ork'ed. Got 1 mostly built up but got lost deciding what variant I wanted. These and my Stompa sit at the back of my brain itching me back to building 40K again after good 10+ years off.
Stumbled across this video in a "you may also like:" list. I do, in fact, like. Subscribed.
Thanks!
There are a few guides out there to magnetized it. I decided against it and just glued a Stormlord. I did magnetize the 2 extra sponsons. I had the old box and had to pay another 60 dollars to get the extra 2 sponsons and weapons which I was lucky to even find. Only other version I would use is the Shadowsword but I'll just get another kit and build it.
I love watching the Jay and Sean arms race. Jay gets a knight cerastus so Sean gets a baneblade. Judging by Jay's reiver titan I can see a warlord titan in Sean's near future.
The kilt is awesome!
If its not painted yet, that should be incorporated into the baneblades paint scheme.
I have built the Baneblade twice and I love the kit. I didn’t know its from all the wat back in 2007. It holds up well. I do plan on getting a third one and have it have all the turrets. I built my first two before 10th so I was building them accoundinf to the rules
My uncle recently gifted me a bb in the old packaging as he was clearing out some of his back log, I’m painting it up and gifting it back as a surprise to match his guardsmen, this video is insanely helpful ahhh it doesn’t feel like such an intimidating project now
I loved building that kit. I magnetized mine and used all the variants. It wasn't perfect but it can be done
Jay... I don't know How!? You consistently outdo yourself but it's incredible to observe. Thank you!
I run 2 in most of my lists, usually a Stormlord and either Banesword or Shadowsword. I am happy happy that 2 sets of sponsons come in the base set now. Also, if you have someone in your group that plays Chaos Knights, the Volkite Combustor in the Abominant kit is the perfect size to use as a Plasma Blastgun if you want to try running it as a Stormblade.
I really enjoy these videos magnetizing things. I've learned so many clever little tricks from you because of them!
Just built an octoblade " magnetized baneblade just a few weeks ago they are kinda funky and you actually have to use sprues to build shelfs if you do it the traditional way
Ctrl+F 'octoblade'. Oh, thank goodness.
This is one of those rare cases for GW fitting 8 different tanks into one, versus selling them seperately in some capactiy , and its really nice. They easily could have been greedy with this model considering how popular it is. Its also why I hate they try and sell the impulsor variants as seperate kits when it all could be sold as a predator tank and come with everything else to be magnetized. I learned that cheat code early in the kits life and saved myself a couple hundred dollars
Hi Sean! Enjoy giving Jay a thorough shellacking with your new, fully magnetized- and painted- tank!
No model made me as excited to build than the baneblade. Managed to magnetize 2 versions where I can use either stormlord or banehammer. Absolutely wonderful model.
at 2:30 that sprue is still a two-sided mold the moving that slide into place for the barrel as the mold closes and will move out as the mold opens
I remeber building this the day it came out, my GW opened at 7am and i had it glued and on the table for apocalypse release at 10 am, was nuts
Hats off for all that magnet work. I'm giving myself a stroke just attaching one magnet to a heavy bolter. Lol!
thank you for showing off the sprue and how it fits together. I've figured out how i can stick a knight on it now :)
I was surprised over the price. I can order it here for 100€, thats kind of nice to know if i decide to get one.
Amazing job, truly 😊 I bought a B.B. when they first landed but they were separate from the Shadowsword so I need to get one of these combined kits (or two 😊)
This was an amazing project, super well done dude!!
This was a dream build video for me! Very aspirational for me!
i did that few years ago, sure, it's complex but given how much options you have - gw did a great work with the design.
GW trick worked on me. I plunged straight ahead assembling my Baneblade and before I knew it I was locked out of half the configs. I guess I could get it apart with a chisel and redo it but ehhhhhh. That was where I learned to flip through to the end of the instructions before starting.
I also have a magnetized Baneblade and boy is it fun to see it one shot a knight as a shadow sword, but man dose this bring back memories of when I was putting mine together.
So awesome to see how much it would take to be able to use the different options.
Soo you are the reason Our magnetic poles shift 😂
I literally just bought one to do this exact project XD Can't wait to see how it works out.
barrels without molding lines are a gift from the gods. gotta love slide molding
I did this with my baneblade!! even better I kitbashed an old model kit to make a 9th variant! its a ton of fun! not sure id do it again... buuuuuuuut it was super satisfying once everything was all set up
This you did with some really good craftingskills. Impressed!!
I have 2 Baneblades myself and just went with both standard baneblades , my 3rd one is going to be the shadowsword with the titan killing cannon , i read that the cannon itself can still be used on normal enemies and still kill them (probably over kill) lol.
Still...love the baneblade for sure!
very nice job the muving parst and the antena save magner;
very nice how it look;
may be when i will be more confiden i will try same magents parts
For those curious on “Why the hell is this thing so big” it’s an old Apocalypse model, where you have a minimum of 2 feet deployment zone, it was made Apocalypse first, and went to regular 40K second
It’s satisfying when you see someone build every form a model can take and they are movable too
Do that to them titans too!
Nicely done! That’s an impressive number of magnets and variants
Beatifully non-confusing naming conventions
Loved the gameshow bit at the end. Proud to announce I got one of them right
Was literally JUST about to start trying to build mine. Thanks!
Laughed out loudly when you went for the kilt. Looked awesome.
I’ve never played Warhammer but I’ve always liked the idea of getting this model and having it be the only model I ever own
I remember building that absolutemonolith of a model. I only realised that you could have 2 sets of sponsons on after I’d already fully build the model, so now I only have one set on. I may fix that one day, but it’s still funny that it’s such a monster you can bring 8 side guns in addition to the rest of it. Good thing is though, if you only put one set on the baneblade / hellhammer, all you need is another set of tracks to build an entirely seperate second model, as long as you don’t mind having a slightly shorter one
When this thing was released in 2007/8, virtually every purchase that I made in GW came with the line "do you want a baneblade with that!?". The release of Apocalypse was a mad time because all the rules went out the windows, and the only thing that mattered was how many models were on the table.
Space Marine player? How about some chaos terminators as allies?
Necron player? A few genestealers would really help out your CC.
Eldar player? What you need is a few orks.....also BANEBLADE!
That's when I built most of my renegade guard armored brigade...
(6 companies total, 1 SHC, 2LRTCs, 1SPGC, 1Mech.Inf.C, 1HQ/Rec./Log./AA/SapperC)
@@SonsOfLorgar I wanted to build a massive Eldar war-host, but I decided that food was more important :D
I built this kit couple years back. I used a total of 10 magnets and left the model able to be switched from Shadowsword to Baneblade by changing the top.
3:45 that's a lot of dice 😮
I wonder if the fuel drums are just 1:35 200 liter drums like on a Challenger or a T-55.
My octoblade just sits by gravity. Made sprue shelves in the hull to hold the hull pieces. Only magnetized the gun options besides sponson guns
Wore my kilt on Sunday. Really liked seeing you make one
i just bought this modell 1 week ago so this video just came out the right time for me XD
Jeeesus - this is insane!! Great work!!
Beautiful solutions!
Well Done!
Please make a pdf or google doc detailing every step of this process
It’s almost all good. I do have to object to the tartan skirt though. The emperor’s officers are not mocked! lol.
I hadn't considered magnets before, now I don't think I'll be making any models without it.
Sometimes your deadpan hunor catches me off-guard! 🤣 Great video!
There are actualy 9 variants to the octablade. + Anihilator plasma incinerator.
Also, an EXTRA weapon sprue alowes you 2 extra sponson weapons.
my friend got one recently and has been yelling about this ever since
My second baneblade box is my offical scatter terrain storage. It's just so conveniently lorge!
I don't do warhammer model but I make historical armor models, so seing you build a tank is really cool
One day WHEN (not if) this beauty is all painted you need to have Sean come on as a guest for Guess That Bladebane variant XD
Does this Sean have channel where he painted this? I can't find it anywhere.
there are some baneblade leftovers on my magnets!!!
"This is an intimidating amount of plastic."
*[LAUGHS IN GUNDAM]*
I love that the Baneblade is big enough to count as cover XD
You think you asked for one tank, but they send you the whole battalion moment.
Surprised that it's a Shadowsword as well as a Baneblade. They're different tanks with different bases. But as the Shadowsword is by far my favourite Warhammer vehicle, I'm really glad to see it. I don't even play the game. I just want to buy a Shadowsword and get it professionally done as a showpiece, because I just love it so much.
