Enjoyed the race, l run the 3120xp with 50 inch Cannon Super Bar (404) chain, sawing 4ft beech trunk last week , the 3120 just waltzed through the log, was sawing also with 394xp 42in B&C ( 3/8 ) totally up to the task, but at the same time, 3120 far exceeded, as it should do. 592xp is third place running with the big dogs as it should be , love your content, always food for thought !!!
@@imperfectcuts7028 ahh ok. I have a 394 that I just got and the corner fins are broke off. Maybe I will just run as is until I have an issue. Runs really strong.
@@Rob-tl9md nothing is gonna hurt it with broken fins as long as your aware that it is gonna run a little warmer. The fins are the only cooling they have besides flywheel air. My advice is run it a tad rich and it'll probably outlast your will to run it lol.
If you're running anything less than a 32" bar then the 592xp *needs* a 8pin sprocket.. I'd try a 10pin on the 3120 for this size wood and I bet that would alter the outcomes herr
Two things cut (assuming a sharp chain): 1) chain speed and 2) power. The 592 I'm sure isn't lacking on power but it clearly demonstrates the difference these newer saws running much higher rpm's bring to the table with speed. That, and I'm sure you're running those self sharpening chains which helps.
Great video! I'm a fan of the 3120 myself very glad to see it pulling its own against the 592. Would you do a video of those pulling again with longer bars?
@@novicelumberjack because it Chinese they just all over the place, on your cylinder does it say 43 it so it's a 45 cc cylinder don't about crankshaft . the crankshaft could be a 52 cc crank I look at the numbers and send you photo cheers Kevin 😎

Thanks for another awesome informative video. Keep rocking them out guy👍👍
Never got to run a 395. I've heard they're an animal ported. Great video!
I have 394 with a 395 top end. It's an absolute animal. Regularly run a 36" bar in hardwood and it would more than handle a longer bar.
@@imperfectcuts7028 you as both? 395 an upgrade on the 394?
@@Rob-tl9md I have a 394 that when I got it was scored so I switched to a 395 top end

Big saws, was there any lost footage that you were unable 2 duplicate?

If it was made after 1993 it is a Makita. That's when Makita bought them, they just kept the dolmar name on them for about 5 yrs.

Haha! The woodsman whackoff!
That is great. Good video!

36" inches would be great, love it!😎✌️
New sub you earned it ,
Thank you! I work hard for it.
They still make the 3120 the 395 390 and 372 xp
You should do some top handles
Great video brother - Keep it going ! Regards
The 394 is typically faster than the 395. Better intake.
G'day mate with your Chinese chainsaw did you measure the piston? How wide is it 43mm or 45mm cheers Kevin love the video 😎
It was actually about 43.5mm. I just figured I'd round up to 44mm.

i have a 395xp ... The 592 is a little bit faster
7.6 horsepower 592 verse 8.4 horsepower 3120 remind you stihl 881 is 8.7 horsepower
The 3120 will stll spank an 880 or 881
😀👍👍👍👍
