I’m a husqvarna guy all the way but that Stihl looks incredible
It’s sleek. And well designed
Used to use 088s,090s and 3120s to rip big logs for heli shows. Used mainly 5 foot bars but could get 8 footers if you needed one,you can get through some big wood even with a small 5 foot bar by getting the log rolled for you after you get through one side. Greetings from British Columbia
Those saws will make a man out of you eh.
3120xp ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beast
Both are nice hard to pick one or the other great video Josh
Harry, have you ever ran a saw this big?
@@carlsmowerandsaw no way I'm too old last chain saw l ran was a 009 Stihl 🤔🤔
Itty bitty baby
The one thing about husqvarnas is extremly high prices for spare parts, and hard to find, at least in germany
When in Germany
@@carlsmowerandsaw what do you mean?
Both saws are great, but I'm leaning towards Husqvarna. I definitely need the power of a big saw.
What makes you lean towards Husqvarna? They are currently on a great sale through mid March
@@carlsmowerandsaw ether husqvarna or still are good saws I would be happy with ether one. But husqvarna is what I'm running with my other saws, the continuity is nice. 3120xp is my next saw.
I own a 3120 XP, and have milled a bit with an 090G. I can say that they are both monster huge saws. Like having a small dirt bike in your hands.
All my Huskies have inboard drive sprockets - what a drag to swap a chain. And popping off the clutch to replace the sprocket requires a socket, a breaker bar, and a piston stop. With all my Stihls, chain swaps are a piece of cake. And replacing a drive sprocket requires nothing more than my scrench.
I've heard that the 881 accepts only 881specific bars. IDK
The stock 3120 carb has a fixed high speed mixture, which makes me (who packs a tiny straight slot in his kit, and knows how to use it ) a little nervous.
But, all in all, I got nothing against bragging that I run the world's second largest production chainsaw !
That’s a great claim. The 880/881 use Stihl’s large mount It is unique to this size saw
❤❤❤
Which one do you choose?
Both great saws but I would pick the stihl
What is your go to Stihl saw?
@@carlsmowerandsaw my go to is a ms261 love that saw
What more could I possibly say, STIHL RUNS THE YARD. 😊👍🏿 #stihlpower #stihlisyourdaddy #stihlrunstheyard
They do run lots of yards
50/50
Not even 51/49
My pick is the Stihl all the way. The captured side cover nuts, the chain brake not on the side cover, the chain adjustment on the side in the saw body are just a few things that are my reasons. Stihl obviously cares about the big saw guys.... doesnt help I have 7 Stihl saws already. The 500i and 881 are on my watch list to buy sometime!
Do you mill?
@@carlsmowerandsaw no sir not yet that my plan if I get the 881. I'm a outdoorsman I do alot of maintaining our property since we have big trees and making sure I have plenty of firewood. I look at chainsaws like hammers...theres never just 1 that does everything and there's a needs for different ones.
Not talking bad about stihl, but I prefer husky. Just feels right to me. Ford
Vs chevy
You are right. It really comes down to your personal preference. Both are winners.
After being a dealer for eight years and fivty years of trouble free.experience, I'll take a Husqvarna every time.. Shalom/ge😊
Great input. So you sold both brands?
@carlsmowerandsaw Negative, I sold Husqvarna, but I serviced Stihl. In all those years, the only Husky failure was a guy who ran plain gas with no oil in the fuel and locked the piston. A couple of days soaking in Marvel Mystery Oil, and she fired right up. My first Husqvarna was a 380 CD I bought in 1977. I run it all the time. I guess Stihl is a good saw, but I prefer Husqvarna. BTW. The Sweedish pronounce it "Hoos Varna". We Yankees tend to put an "a" in the middle. Shalom/gw

Why do old saws by 30-year-olds run slower and have touq and new saws? How they have is speed only.
They didn't have the oil technology they do today and didn't understand just how high they could run and have longevity. Today it seems more speed and light weight. These two saws have trackor power.
It has to do with engine design. That includes horizontal vs vertical, stroke, as well as the bottom end “air space”. Meaning the bottom end of the engine had more volume and that changed the torque. Does this help?
Stihl has the worst air filter system they don’t seal properly
I have seen people make that claim But I have not seen a major issue with that myself.
You forget about huskys new 5125xp i see.....with the auto tune and at 17.4 lbs and 10.1 hp she is the best available but she is 2250 bucks
That definitely would be a sol worth checking out. I have not seen or heard any any word of that in the United States
@carlsmowerandsaw I was being a doosh bag I made it up, though I think we both know they have a replacement ready when the epa cracks down on them finally
@@johnserrano9689 I kind of wondered if you were making something up but sometimes there’s secret units that don’t show their face until they pop up in other countries. I like your idea though.
@carlsmowerandsaw as much as we all love the all ready we'll established and living legend 3120 I honestly cannot believe husky hasn't done a single thing it, after all these years. My personal favorite used to e the 372 or 2172 jonsered but I now own the 572 and would never look back. Can you imagine what huskys capable of delivering in a full on 120cc saw now?!
As you know it must be they know guys are heavily modding them, it's extremely cheap/easy to field tune or fix and they simply don't sell much of them....
But WTF HUSKY WE DEMAND a 5125xp with the listed specs from earlier haha
