I am reminded of the 18-20 year old kids who died in service to a nation and will never sit on a bar stool and have a beer with friends and laugh, or cry, or recite words that once helped them thru rough times. May they Rest in Peace.

My dad was an Army veteran of WW2 and the Korean war, when he passed in 1983 the only song he had requested to be played at his military funeral was Amazing Grace on the pipes and drums. Still gets to me all these years later.

I LOVE this!! When my father passed away, we hired a piper for the funeral. This was the last song he played. My father always loved the fact that we are of Scottish descent, and he would have loved knowing this was played at his funeral.

My darling wife of 44 years passed away suddenly in March of 2021. We plan to play this exact rendition at the Gathering of Friends in the near future. I believe I will need a chair after just a few seconds of this song playing honoring her beautiful life, and her heritage.

Everytime I go out for lunch while I’m on drill weekend in uniform, I’ll always get people that say say ty for ur service, n in my head I’m like “I appreciate the thanks but tbh I don’t do much aside from show up, sit in classes, clean, n sit around”. Whenever I hear the pipes, pride and serenity runs through my veins I remember every soldier that has ever fallen and keep them tucked away deep inside my heart. LET IT OUT!" I couldn't. A clergy colleague, a Lithuanian/American, said once he "didin't get it". His wife. also of Celtic ancestry reacted the same way with the Pipes. Who dares to say it does not live in our "blute and DNA"?

I have sometimes inspirationally experienced that Amazing Grace’s melody sounds like voices from above the heaven.
This was played at my grandfather's funeral. Still tear up to this day. He was a WW2 veteran.
I thank him for his service. May he forever rest in peace.

I live in Nova Scotia, New Scotland. Born a Buchanan, lived on Cape Breton Island for awhile, when you live on the island you see it in the people and the music and their love for all things Scottish. My home is here on the main land, but i have always been proud to the point of tears of my Scotland roots. The sound of the drums and the bagpipes live in my heart forever.
My ancestry goes to Scotland and looking at it feels like home. If I can ever get out of the States...

There was a very special man who played the bagpipes of Amazing Grace from the balcony to wake me up every morning. He has been gone for almost 17 years now. When he was dying he let me know he was going to Heaven and be with my mom and daughter waiting on me. I do look forward to that day to be with my Lord and Saviour and my beloved ones. God Bless all

This was my dad’s favorite song and I’d play it for him. I wish that somebody had played it for us at my dad’s graveside service, after a true American patriot passed away on the Fourth of July 2021. I was the one that saw my dad pass away and it was just a moment that I Will remember for the rest of my life.
