I spent one year in UK ( in Berkshire) and I will never forget how worm and welcome are Scotish ,much more than English, very funny and very skilful too to drink!!! I want to visit Scotland and take my time to enjoy it...
RagDoll...thank you SOOOO much for putting this awesome music/picture compilation together! My husband Larry LOVES this! He's a Scott.. His grandfather, was named after his great great great grandfather, William Wallace and YES they are in fact Brave Hearted and tempers NOT to be messed with. My Larry allowed God to help him control this! He wears both the Ferguson and Lyall Klan's Tartans.
Scotland's got the best music hands down. the sound of the pipes in the wee hours of the morning is what you wake up for. The thoughts of the highlands as you drive to work is what you are moved for. The taste of Scotland flows through your mind as you work into the wee hours of the night. When you are born with any bit of Scottish blood, you stay that way for the rest of your life. so lets all say it, FFFFFRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not Scottish, Irish or English. My father learned me to love bagpipes and Scottish culture. He's gone now, but I promised him that I will go to the Edinburgh military Tatoo and visit the Highlands. I love the sounds, thanks for sharing this with us
One of the most beautiful sounds on earth...the haunting sound of Bagpipes being played. I really don't care either way if others don't agree..I for one am a BIG FAN of all CELTIC Music....play on me laddies.
There is something about the sound of bagpipes that touches the soul. Well, that's the effect it has on this sensitive old soul, at least. Oh, and did I say that I absolutely LOVE Scotland, too? I currently live in London, and am looking to move to Scotland within the next year.......Can't wait.....
Just does something to your soul to hear 'em with the snares! My ancestors came from all over Scotland during the 1700s. Some were Ulster Scots who didn't stay in Ireland long. We came into North Carolina, Virginia and New England. Man, I gotta go back
I'm Dutch, but I really like bagpipes and Irish and Celtic music, since I was about 10 years old. I'm 21 now. I really love this type of music but I'm really fond of the Irish drinkingsons as well. They always make me feel happy and when I hear music like at 5:30 I just can't sit still. We don't have folkmusic in Holland :(
big daddy, my dad was no hero, nor was he a tough guy. But after landing on D Day with his fellow Scots he told me the sound of the bagpipes turned him into a man possessed. It reminded him of home and his wife and family back there. He once told me he didn't fight for Kings or Queens, governments or politics, he fought for his folk back home, his wife and bairns. The bagpipes were his inspiration in battle.
I have searched my family, im half Scottish, Thanks dad, but my tree goes back to Wallace and Robrt the Bruce, my family fought for Scotland. from the Isle of Islay! RULE SCOTLA|ND! Mclochlans!!
dude, i know exactly what you mean. the sound of the pipes are so inspiring and motivating. such a rich and beautiful sound. every time i hear the pipes played well it sends chills down my spine :)
@BendrFendr Sir always be a patriot to the land you were born in. Many times I have wished that I was born in the US but I am really proud to be a Scot. I have mixed blood in me mostly Scottish and Irish but I have a very little Brule Sioux in me from a great great grandfather who was a member of one of those Wild West shows back in the 1890s touring Britain. He jumped from the troup and went over to Ireland where he married my great great grandmother.
being proud of your own culture means your cultured enough to be interested in observing and appreciating ways of others.you have to be 'fit' enough to fit in anywhere and welcome others doing so...
the bagpipe is so beutifal and an ispiering insterment the boys who herd this in both the world wars must have had a smile on thier face to see the scots marching forward r.i.p you brave men
been in scotland with school....edinburgh, wymess bay, culzean castle, hadrians wall......such a nice place on earth....just want to sit in the highlands smoking little someting something and enjoying the look...
@SeoDriver i can tell you right now that the celts, scot, irish were playin the pipes way before they were played in europe. they used to use the pipes to lead them into battle. back in the day of the battles between england and scotlond. and it probs dates back a hell of a lot longer than that
C'est très beau à entendre Quoi de plus magnifique que la musique écossaise. Merci à tous ceux qui jouent si bien de la cornemuse. Bonsoir de la Belgique
@RaGDollxEffecT I agree with JewishGirl1994, you are by far one of the best youtube posters i have ever seen. thanks for uploading such awesome music and sharing it with the rest of us
all my life, bagpipes has always spoken 2 my spirit.for yrs we thought we were irish, turns out we r scottish, maybe thats y.McClish,MacPhearson and sutherland is my original family names and we hail from those clans
wow refreshing to see people actually talking about the music and not endless bullshit and point scoring on a web page for a damn change.got to love the scotts!im originally from england but moved to wales years ago i too got sick of enland and its bull shit government you can sprinkle my ashes in wales m8 off the gower panninsula.one day a will visit scotland and see for myself its rugged beauty x
For such a small nation of 5 million people the Scots have done so much. No other country with such a population have contributed so much to so many. From television to telephone, postage stamp, even started the American Navy and the Bank of England. Pneumatic tyres for cars, antibiotics, anaesthetics, cures for many illnesses, medical breakthroughs, computer games industry, gonna have to stop, running out of space. And some of the greatest fighting regiments in the world are Scottish.
I know there are many Scots who are/were disappointed at the outcome of the vote. But I have been to both the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas and extensively through the Grampian region of Scotland. My late wife and I enjoyed every minute of our visits and met some wonderful people. In your own way , the Scots are very distinctive but, I personally think, that in the long run, it was better for Scotland be remain a part of the Union. Alone, you would have fallen to third world importance but you are part and parcel with Wales, England and Northern Ireland a force on the world stage to be reckoned with.
Do you know that if you were not such a waste of space, a real dork or a detriment (I know it's a word you wouldn't use) to the rest of Society, I might think of engaging in a conversation with you. As it is, you are a total waste of my time.
I'm part scottish and english and my great great great..... grandma was Queen Elizabeth's lady in waiting! I love the bagpipes! such a heart grabbing sound. i am looking for one song in particular. for those who have personal tv, look for "World's Coastlines from Above" - Great Britain isle's, on "EquatorHD" I know it's a far cry but i NEED that song!!! reply the name if you know
@HellAngelsBells It's why William Wallace, priest-turned-general, a man who stood 6-foot-6 and swung about a claymore as tall as he was and who could divorce a knight in full armor from his lower half at the waist in a single blow, was a scotsman. Our badass music.
@SeoDriver its actually more likely that they were invented in egypt or persia. and progressed from there. it used to be a twin reed instrument once apon a time.
@Gizmologist09 Check out a practice chanter, it's the instrument you would start with to learn the pipes. Sounds like playing the pipes with no bag or drone.
@mitmiscool what about wales, but i agree with you the best is Scotish its just simply inspirational, giving courage, or makeing you feel good, to a rememberance service. In the words of william wallace- "Before we let you leave, your commander must cross that field, present himself before this army, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse."
@m31337u Given the universal appeal for this music, it must be concluded that all the people around the world must have Celtic bits in them, too (lol).
I spent one year in UK ( in Berkshire) and I will never forget how worm and welcome are Scotish ,much more than English, very funny and very skilful too to drink!!!
I want to visit Scotland and take my time to enjoy it...

being proud of your own culture means your cultured enough to be interested in observing and appreciating ways of others.you have to be 'fit' enough to fit in anywhere and welcome others doing so...
