Maybe because I'm Scottish, but the highlands are the most beautiful place on earth, every year I get to spend time in the highlands and I honestly feel relaxed and at home and at peace. I'm always sad when I have to go back home and to the big town where I live.

Im from India. One of the best gifts we have from the Scots, besides dedicated Missionaries, Noble Institutions is the music of the Bagpipes, left alive in our Regimental Bands.
Who cannot but cry when Bagpipers play 'Amazing Grace' or 'Abide with me'?
I visited Bonny Scotland briefly but would love to visit again.

I’ve been wanting to go there (from USA) all my life. I finally made it happen and spent ten glorious days exploring last month. Absolutely stunning, gorgeous, breathtaking…words fail me. You can see pictures and hear how beautiful it is, but there is no substitute for being there. I’m not the same person as I was.

No, Peter, you are truly not. There's no mistaking what's got into you now. To watch it grow and flourish, just begin to take up study of the pipes and/or the Scots Gaelic language. And watch the beautiful series hosted by geologist Ian Stewart called "Men of Rock" that shows how the science of modern geology was born on those very mountains.

The Scots have given a gift to India in the Bagpipers of the many Regimental Bands we have in the Uniformed Forces, Police etc. They Bagpipers are the pride of these Bands.
Once when travelling by bus in the mountains of Manipur/Nagaland I heard a Bagpiper play in a nearby Army Base. It was a taste of Scotland as rare as their whisky.
One cannot hear Bagpipes play Amazing Grace without being moved to tears. Bonny Scotland.

I am half Scottish. My experiences in the land that witnessed the birth of my grandparents and friends cannot even come to words, as far as the warmness of the residents. Too many stories to bore you all!!! One quick one, got into a cab after clubbing in Edenborough, Cabbie recognized my New England US accent, we chatted about Brown University (I attended), he brought me to a house party of his mates and birds. 25 years ago and we all still keep in touch and meet up in Scotland or Ireland. Love to you all in the clans. Stewart here!!!

Irish people were not called 'celts' or 'celtic'. No group was. The Irish were the most advanced especially morally and not savage and not mixed with other european groups as the roman church cult claims. The 'celtic' fake history was started in the early 1700's by the religious cult's upper class ( Edward Lhyud ) to cover over true Irish history.
A Greek geographer/man while travelling saw a group in the area since called Marseille France.
He went back to Greece and told people the group he encountered were called 'Keltoi'. Roman culture was younger than the Greek one so they used Greek words and in more recent centuries the Keltoi/keltae word was used very few times by not many people, there are some pre 1700's references to the word the Greek man used.
The Irish were so advanced they created games and art and musical instruments and they did this without any puppet politicians or religious cults in control of them. That's why the roman catholic/protestant cult has to create, make up a fake Irish history supposedly being called 'celtic' and supposedly being savages.
A channel mission idea has to be put into practice.

I am a transplanted Aussie living in Oklahoma but my dad was from Glasgow. When I was little I asked him why he left Scotland. With a twinkle in those blue eyes of his, he said because the bagpipes made so much noise he had to emigrate! I love the plaintive sound, so expressive.

Even after millennia, my heritage endures in historical records to Scottish ADN ancestry. I hold a deep affection for the music, landscapes, and traditions of Scotland. Moreover I treasure my great-grandfather's bagpipe, a tangible link to our familial past in the North-east of Portugal, nestled amidst the mountains and rivers of North Atlantic lands, were we encounter a parallel world, where time-honored customs linger, echoing those of Celtics roots.
Time didn't take it away, it only turned it into something better!

In no way am I even remotely related to Scotland, I am Moroccan from a family that has andalusian and rifi heritage, but I still love listenning to scottish, celtic and scandinavian musics, and I have found a lot of similarities between the notes, instuments and way of singing of both the previous genres and my local music and arab/oriental music in general, makes me connect with it even more. Also the rich histories of these regions makes the music feel teemed with sentiments, as if you are right there, watching the events unfold before your very eyes. I would love to have bagpipes played at my funeral, but here we don't do music on funeral, we read and recite the Quran and say prayers so that Allah grants mercy on the dead

I now march as a Vietnam Veteran, but the band is small and there only a dozen of us, but this is a small country town.

I left Scotland because i had no job prospects when i was 17, up until then, every year i got my arse skelpt by the big man who caught me sneaking into the area of the perth agricultural show where very distinguished men with tremendous face fur, sat in dour judgment behind a screen, pouring over the musical notes, of some beautiful lament, that a master piper was expertly playing, so as to win a trophy and a few guineas, after he caught me and before he walloped my arse he would allow me to listen to a few of the best pipers, play some beutifully haunting tune! I walk an inch taller and my neck snaps back into my collar when a piper bashes up his auld bag and that familiar liquid silk pours out of those sticks of wonder ❤️
