I feel like its almost more motivating and inspiring the fact that you didn’t reach your goal the first time, yet now you’ve grown and you’re trying again. Keep on the grind Nico, we’re with you every step of the way 💪
I love this because I DNFed my first 50 mile ultra (the 105 degrees at 6000ft nearly did me in) over a year ago and then my dad died, so i took a huge step back from running and setting goals. I felt lost in doubt, fears and failure. Hearing you talk about it the failure and attempting again is great fuel, as I am about 4 weeks into my new 50 mile prep. I don't have a time goal, just wanna finish. This is great to hear others have that same thought process and fears.❤ But we got this! Let's go!
the cinematography of this was insane! Just finished my first ever marathon today in 4:27 :) 2:50 is so fast I cannot comprehend it! but your dedication is so inspiring!
Great information for a new 53 year old runner like me! Looking forward to your new journey for a 2:50 marathon! I really appreciate not hearing cuss words or talk of alcohol. So far I’ve watched about 10 of your videos and just started following you about 2 days ago. I also want to say “thank you” to Sophie ( the GOAT) for filming. Great job, Sophie. Also, looking forward to your progress and enjoyment of running!!
Hey Nico, I appreciate your videos a lot. There's something about them - the music, tone, coloring, the things you say - that just make them so inspiring. If that's what you're going for then I think you're doing great. I always feel better after I watch them :)
Man, Sofie is really the goat, she helps you a lot willingly with those professional like cinematic shots. When I first watched one of your content, I thought you hired some professional videographer, editor or something but it was just the two of you who made these videos that gave motivation and inspiration to a lot of people across the globe and I am one of those people. I'm not consistent with running before but with these videos, it kept me going. 💪🏼 Kudos 🔥 -from Philippines
you are my biggest inspiration nico. i have grown so much as a runner and as a person, working to being more dedicated and healthier in college. YOU GOT THIS!!🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m running a half marathon tomorrow and you’re 2:50 video inspired me because I’ve missed my PR 5 times already. I put in the work and am going to try my best to PR tomorrow. Thank you for all your inspiration and motivation.
Missed my 3:07 at Indy by 2 minutes today. Probably could have ran at 3:08 if I didn't stop in the porta potty at Mile 21 to pee, but it was a 14 minute PR from 2016. I'm finally back after 5 serious effort and terrible pwrformance marathons, and I'm ready to tackle sub 3 next year.
I began my running journey this year and always find your videos inspiring. I wish I had started running sooner! I've recently started participating in fun runs in the Philippines, and my first race is coming up next week. Thank you for the motivational boost I get every time I watch your videos. Always excited to watch your new uploads, Nico!
Me and my friend Hayden (both of us are huge fans!) are running our first marathon ever, Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon. Goal of 2:55. We'll both be 18 and trying to qualify for Boston '26. This is a huge goal for both of us, but me for sure. Watching your videos and seeing your runs on strava have motivated me more then you'll ever know. Seeing an influincer that shows both the good and bad of their life and hobbies is so refreshing, and I can't thank you enough for the channel and content. With much love and admiration - Jude S.
can definitely feel your love for the sport and super cool to see a running influencer who isn't banging out 3 hour marathons like a machine. Running is a process and we do it for fun and to feel good, not just the miles and paces. Your break from workouts and a training block is making me feel more okay with just getting out for ez runs before my next build.
Love the introspection in the intro. I ran Tahoe 200 this year, and missed my time goal by about 15 hours. I didn't know it during the race, but I was suffering from a bloodclot in my leg, which made finishing the race at all extremely difficult. I was so disappointed to have put that much into training for the event, only to have a lackluster performance because of an extraneous issue I couldn't have accounted for. I'm healthy now and back to running, and I realize now that missing the goal means my hunger to do that event faster hasn't been satisfied, and I still have the fire in me to go for it again. Sometimes missing a goal just stokes the flame hotter than ever to get an even better prep in. God bless man, keep up the great work! You're gonna smash a sub 2:50 👏
Love the video as always! Was getting ready to ask how The GOAT’s (Sophie’s) running was coming along so glad you shared an update there too. Pumped for this new series. Come on 2:50!
True lead, true motivation and a lot of knowledge and experience packed in one video! You are giving so much to the running community with your positive spirit. A big thank you Nico! Keep going :)
Still watching the video but just had to comment to say how inspiring you are. Also love the cinematography in your videos! Even the little things like capturing the ants on video. Keep up the great work! I started my running journey earlier this year and I'm just trying to keep it up through our cold winters and little daylight.
Ur videos have inspired me in many ways anyhow was able to hit my goal in Chicago for a sub 2:50 , end up doing 2:48 finish strong - the goal is now to do the same in Boston come April also go for another PB in Berlin Keep doing what ur doing ur on the right path Age 44 😎
This might be my first time commenting on anything… ever. Nico. You’re not just and inspiration on your running for me but inspirational with how much you have grown and matured in the last few years. You’re a legend. Keep it up. Love from Minnesota.
I recently got back into couple months ago running and stumbled across you're channel. You maybe didn't reach the sub 2:50 but whats an even bigger achievement is that you inspire others out there to get into running. Don't get to hard on yourself, you got this! Sub 2:50 soon--->
These videos are always so incredible to watch, having been here for them all, the progression is insane! 🔥You’ve taught me so much and I’m racing my first half marathon on Feb 8th. Can’t wait to follow along with this one too, or thank you enough for what you've done for my life 😊👏
Thank you Sophie! And Nico, it's way easier to go after a goal the 2nd time.. you have so much more knowledge and data to help you succeed this time! This is gonna be fun. And Sophie eats the bagel the correct way.
Love your videos! You're an inspiration! Nick Bare is a beast and such a good person! Im glad you're a part of the team and good luck with changing your diet. Probably going to harder than all the runs 😅
I don’t know if this message will reach you, brother, bur huge kudos for your work! I train as a trail runner after so many years of climbing and hiking in different parts of the globe. A little advice, prior to your workout routine, and everything you do, try to do many, but many stretching classes. That will allow your muscles and joints to “expand” even more for those limits that you push and chase, my brother. Maybe you do that, and that’s amazing, but maybe you don’t, so please give it a try. 2,3 times a week will allow you to go for that 2 fifty goal. And, also, a good profi massage from time to time. Blessings from Transylvania, Romania.
You got this Nico 💪 🙌 Achieving running goals are 60% mental. I’ve been bummed this past week after learning a close family friend was hit by a car running around her block in Tucson last Tuesday. She is still in a coma with head trauma, broken ribs, pelvis injury, and a collapsed lung. 🙏🙏 Please please please be careful if you are a runner and your routes involve being around vehicles 😢 Do NOT assume the driver sees you or cares to slow down! 🤬
Even being a long video it’s absolutely fine! Don’t worry about that because we’ll finish it anyway 🤍. I’m also doing my prep to February here in Chile 🇨🇱, and well for the entire 2025. Thanks for the motivation! Loves from Chile, and yes, you’ve been reaching this places! Haha, amazing video! ❤
I Absolutely Would Love To See More Motivational Videos From You Please Nico??? Because I Recently Got Very Sick With Pancreatitis And I Was In The Hospital For A Very Long Time But I Am Doing Much Better Now For Sure And I Absolutely See It All As A Wake Up Call For Me To Lose Weight And To Get Fit And Lean Again For Sure Nico!!! And Also Much Love To All Of Y’all From Houston Texas Too Nico!!!
This is all what we've been waiting for...another series! I hope in the future you get to record your journey participating a marathon in an international setting with the likes of Berlin, London, Tokyo or Sydney!
This is what I’ve wanted ! I want to show all of your running shoes! I always try Alphafly for my race day. But I also like New Balance , cheap price or not they are always good.
“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.” All the best to you Nico 👏🏻
I ran the Mesa Marathon about 10 years ago and you should know the first 8ish miles are downhill. The race starts at McDowell Mountain and drops about 800 feet in the first 8ish miles. So you don't blow out your quads, make sure you do some downhill work. You seem pretty dialed in on your easy runs, keep it up and you will crush your goal.
Sophie’s way of eating a bagel is the best way to consume it! You just savor every single bite that way 😊 btw those mid run #2s are the absolute worst 😅
I love your videos so much but one thing you could work on when you run is your arms. Like not swinging them across your body as muchbor in a circular motion because that is less efficient and you lose energy you might need after mile 22. I would use weights and do big arm swings for reps of 30 seconds like once a day. Your doing Hella a job and keep it up
Where do you live?

First like! Love your work! You inspired me to run my first marathon! Was hoping to go sub 3, ended up running a 3:03:09 as a senior in HS!
I love the long formats of your videos. They are my go to when I run. I’m so looking forward to your new training vlog 😊🇨🇦
Hope you know that even though you didn't make your goal, you inspired me as a 13 yr kid to do my first half marathon with my time being 1:44.

Awesome video. Always remember that we are a role model to someone, so everything we do matters. If we quit they quit. When we win they win.
