What I love about these videos is how realistic and relatable they are. It’s not like, “this is my daily grind and I love it.” It’s like, “I never want to get up in the morning and sometimes I don’t want to run, but these are the things I do to help.” And that is so relatable.
The 10-minute rule is so important and accurate! Nine times out of ten, I feel miserable during the first 10-15 minutes of my run and really want to quit, but usually after that, I start to get into a groove and feel amazing. At that point, I'm able to easily push through and keep going!
@@ClauNazepamwake up and IMMEDIATELY go outside. Andrew Huberman talks about how important that is for your sleep cycle. I’m a night owl who spent a week or so, just waking up and sitting on my balcony early. Then started going outside for just a brisk walk and walking becomes jogging. The key to rising early is get outside ASAP. Your body will naturally acclimate to a new cycle and that sunlight first thing in the AM is pivotal in making the change. You’ll naturally get sleepy at night and wake up without being exhausted after a while. Good luck!

@@kaysenO what’s XC? Wow that’s a lot, I’ve just started running and I’m running 3 days a week with a medium run, short run and a longer run, do you have any tips?
@@Ben-oc3oi it’s Cross Country but many people just say XC (X is a cross) I would recommend staying consistent and once you feel comfortable just slowly increase your mileage by about 2-3 miles per week and after a while once you get more into it you can add some speed sessions too.

Totally agree with you about the bad drivers!!! I was in phoenix watching my brother play baseball over spring break and had a near death experience everytime we went on I-10.
As someone who also came to AZ later in life, I had the same exact feeling: not sure at first but now I love it. The summer sucks but the rest of the year is amazing

I’ve been waiting at week for this video I started the series kinda late so I watched them all last Tuesday the editing and music everything so good great video!! Keep it up 👍🏼
Yo Nico, awesome video, keep it up! I actually have 2 questions, so: 1 - What is your warmup routine? Is it always the same? | 2 - For marathon training, do you have like mobily sessions or cross training workouts in your schedule? If yes/no, why? Thank you very much and see you on your next video! Greets from Portugal (Europe)
As someone from Missouri who finds it too hot even in Missouri (especially with that midwest humidity) I don't think I could live in Arizona full time but boy does some of the scenary look great
I'm about to run my first marathon (Tallahassee marathon) as a college freshman at FSU, and I wanted to ask how much mileage you typically do the week before the race? What should it look like compared to my peak week (66 miles) mileage? Also keep up the fire content Nico!
Amazing production on these as always! Your down to earth, yet motivating and inspiring videos are such a highlight of my weekends, thank you! Are we getting a grocery haul for this prep?
Be careful going on runs alone. There are evil people u need to constantly be aware of your surroundings so listening to music is not a good idea because u wont hear when someone comes up behind u to mug u for example. Always pray to God before a run to be kept safe by Him throughout the run. Also try run when you can shout for help should u need to. Crime befalls one when they least expect it so it really could be a bright seemingly normal day and thats the day a calamity can strike. Be careful!!
Another great video and awesome shots, thank you Nico ! I'm curious how you prepare your training sessions ? Do you have a coach or do you make your own prep?
Nico, what’s your thoughts on living in Phoenix area? I’m not originally from here but have been living here for a few years. I love the low maintenance living. Minimal landscape and house care but huge houses. No crazy weather issues. Still cheaper than California. It’s a big city with lots to do but at the same time feels like a small city since it’s limited by the desert culture if that makes sense. I do miss the four seasons and greenery of my previous home but when I visit now, I hate how much work living in those places takes. Also they’re freezing cold at 60 degrees 😂. In Phoenix, it’s pretty selfish living. You just do your thing and that’s pretty much it. You’re also very accurate. The Drivers are insane here.
generally its because you haven't warmed up optimally. you need to slowly elevate your heart rate otherwise the blood oxygen IRS will meet out about 10 mins worth of suffering
Recs on mid to wide toe runner shoes?! I’m just starting out here. About try and beat my 6 mile run. I’ve only used to only weightlift. Good luck on your next marathon 🎉
Arizona I wish I can visit the place... I liked how they spoke about it in the Twilight Saga first movie. I am from South Africa. LOL the worse driver are also found in Johannesburg South Africa, especially male taxi drivers hhmmm ... but anyways I love running in winter during the lunch hour. I love the sun.
Have you dealt with any injuries when you started getting serious about running? I'm at the point now and was wondering what you did or do to prevent this from happening.
I've learned a lot from your videos. Your tips are really good for someone like myself who is over the age of 40 and who just started running. I'm still in the process of building up my aerobic base and I will work on my form after I've gotten to a level I feel comfortable, stamina wise. I deal with some foot issues because I'm someone flatfooted and more so on one side than the other. After I run I get really bad plantar fascitis pains which keep me from being able to run for a day or 2. Any suggestions on therapy or training that can help me avoid that kind of pain?

Hey Nico! How do you deal with setbacks such as getting injured or getting sick? I always find it super hard to get back into a rhythm after I've been injured because I'm afraid to over-do it
hey nico, so i actually have two questions. im 14 years old right now, and i got into running about 7 months ago, because i wanted to lose weight as a 13 year old that was skinny fat. i also started going to the gym. after some time, i actually lost 15 lb. now i can run 6,2 miles in 59 min without stopping (thats my pr rn) and I’m in the best shape of my life right now. one of my goals is to run a marathon one day like you. so my first question is, did you run the chicago marathon without walking or stopping? and my second question is, if i heel strike or midfoot strike, does it make a big difference? (i dont know excactly if i heel strike or midfoot strike, because i havent checked properly yet. if i heel strike, i dont do it aggressively). Thank you for your time.
What time do you wake up?
6:45am!
5:30 for practice before school
5:30 am for school
6:00 on school days 7:30 -8:00 on weekends
Too early
One mile for every like this gets
58 miles pal
Oh my…
Bro better get to running
