    This new generation Porsche Cayenne is the most refined and comfortable this SUV has ever been. I do think the previous generation Base Cayenne with the VR6 motor had a lot of character, but practically out on the road, this new vehicle might be the better choice.

      2022 Cayenne or 2022 x5? Which one would you prefer and your rationale behind it. Thanks

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@amosthomas7948 well if you have the extra cash I would def go Cayenne, drives better, more precise steering, does not compromise ride quality, but has that sturdy heavier feel that you expect out of a German vehicle which the new X5 sort of lost as it went for a more softer feel and more slop in the steering (but keep in mind the X5 I tested only had RWD but an owner of a X5 M50i commented the steering in that was also light) interior also seems to be a bit more solid in the Porsche with more comfortable seats.
      Now from a value standpoint yes the X5 is significantly cheaper and leases out much better (see the leasehackr forum for more advice on this and deals regarding both vehicles) there is also a plug in variant of both and the X5 plug in seems to be more affordable and more efficient. My personal pick is def Porsche if you can swing it

    Please try and drive a loaded cayenne (preferably a GTS) to feel the difference in the suspension. I have been in both the base suspension and the PASM w/ Air Setup my car has and it’s night and day. The PASM system totally changes the ride and handling from comfort through sport. It rolls like a Cadillac in comfort (ride is almost as comfortable as an S class) but has virtually zero body roll in full sport and lowers a good amount. It’s the single best option the car has. Really makes it feasible as my do everything car.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice will try to my friend, and do you own the GTS trim? Either way that is awesome to hear and I'm so glad you own this beast such a great SUV

    • @BeesonsCars
      @BeesonsCars 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another side note while watching, the Bose in the Cayenne is really way above my expectations. It’s much better than most Bose audio systems I’ve heard and gets incredibly loud. It’s fs an 8.5/10, which I didn’t expect for a Bose product.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct yea the Bose in this was really the best cant believe I forgot to mention but I made a note.
      Some other cars may use the Bose name but it's not like this not by a long shot

    • @BeesonsCars
      @BeesonsCars 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exhaust Sports Auto I own an S. But my S is oddly optioned out to pretty much GTS specs. (GTS came out in 13 I think and my car is an 11. ) I have PASM/W Air, the GTS style 21’s, and blacked out trim from the factory. Those along with about $15k of other options make it look similar to a GTS minus the tips and Aerokit.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeesonsCars that's such a beautiful ride and because you got older model year, you even get to enjoy a proper V8 phenomenal choice. Yea I really want to try out some higher spec highly optioned Porsches because they just have so much potential. Enjoy that ride and thanks again for sharing all the great info on my channel

    One thing I hated about this Cayenne is the auto start stop system. I was driving a loaner for a few days and went to park it in a mall lot where you have to get a ticket and the auto stop engaged before i came to a full stop. There was a strange 2 second delay off the brake before It started up so I could inch up to the ticket machine it also lost power steering completely which was also very strange. I’m not sure if this is something they’ve fixed.

    • @jrocxzs
      @jrocxzs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also dislike how instead of blank switches of the past this Cayenne now has phantom switches that you’re able to see in sunlight lol.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes so I hate auto stop start function in about every car so I turned it off but I hate how its only done through the screen and not a button...well "button"
      Lol yes I completely forgot to mention the grayed out buttons you can actually see haha. What a tease and honestly that's not luxury that's just poking fun at the owner that didn't spec those options 😆

    • @jrocxzs
      @jrocxzs 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exhaust Sports Auto the new Benz lineup with the eq mild hybrid systems have the best start stop. Recently drove a friends GLE580 and the start stop on that V8 was so buttery I could barely tell when the car was on from then the car was off.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @stephendibari5010
    @stephendibari5010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Great review Kevin... interesting feature on the brakes...No offense to you dude, but I’m done with German cars.. Ive had my share of German cars and for the most part they all had reliability issues. My first was a new 2000 VW Passat 5 speed manual 4 cylinder turbo sedan . Within a few months it developed a power loss in the higher gears. Finally after the 3rd trip to the dealer they brought in a master mechanic and corrected the problem which i think turned into a recall issue.. Almost went “lemon law” on them. I kept that car for about 2 years and dumped it. The 4 cylinder was a drag, not enough power.
    After 2 Acuras and 3 Volvos later In 2011 I went back to VW, I bought a 2000 V-6 Passat wagon with 5 speed manual with about 70k miles. This car was great and solid EXCEPT in 2015 the main CPU wouldn’t recognize NY DMV’s inspection computer , that year i was able to get the shop owner to swap out a Honda Accord in the bay and i passed inspection. In 2016 that shop was closed under renovation and the shop i went to failed me.. same issue with the CPU.. Wound up selling it right after that... This would never happen with Toyota or Lexus.
    The other horror story was the 2013 BMW X5 i bought in 2017 with 96k miles, after 8 long months i sunk nearly $2500 into it for replacement of upper control arms, frozen door lock and leaking rear differential.. what a piece of crap and couldn’t sell it privately and traded it in for my beautiful 2013 ES350 ! Took a major loss on trade in (about $6k) but so worth it now.. My ES has only 38k miles now and its super dependable.. only changed one tire TPMS when i rotated the tires last year.

      Understandable haha you already lived the German dream my preference if I was getting a Euro car is something new like this with a warranty since many im sure aspire and dream of a day they can own a Porsche or a BMW.

      Exhaust Sports Auto understandable. Only way I would get any German car is a lease. What I’ve learned is to lease German and buy Japanese.

    • @mrdrooboiii8116
      @mrdrooboiii8116 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stephen DiBari yes!!!! I’ve had Japanese cars all my life !!! I recently had to get rid of my 04 Acura MDX . it was time to get a new suv . I was highly leaning towards an 2020 Mercedes glc. Audi , Porsche, Vw, Lexus , Toyota , Acura suvs were really not meeting my standards and liking . But I narrowed it down to the Mazda CX-9 signature and the glc . but I got to thinking and Japanese was the way to go. I know people that have a cx9 for a couple years now . Not problems or issues at all.

    the x5 xdrive40i seems it would be the better buy.
    a little quicker, a little cheaper, a little better equipped, a little less techno-gadgety.
    sensing a theme here.
    the x5 also doesnt nickel and dime you for options, and it has actual controls vs touch everything.
    that won't age well, nor is it easy to use without taking your attention away from the road.
    counter-intuitive for a company that has its ethos enshrined in motorsports where everything has a purpose and is simple to use.
    even the engine start turn 'key' is still on the left side of the steering wheel in homage to le mans efficiency, YET they over complicate interior controls.
    i prefer all the buttons/switches of the prev generation since you can tell where they all are by feel.
    this is a big pass.

I have old android and it's working everythere, in the middle in the woods by our lake house, and my daughters brand new I-phone has no service, because she still has t-mobil, I have Verizon.
