    I'd love to hear your thoughts in a later video on the different feel of the car (shifting or vibrations), now that you have these both installed. I have gone back and forth trying to decide whether these 'upgrades' would be worth it for me (as a daily driver).

      I will be doing a follow up once I get seat time with them for sure.

    Hey I know this vid is a bit old so thanks if you see this and reply, but any chance you looked at the brass blocks at 6:52 to see if they are actually delay valves/dampers? I have seen rumor on NASIOC/IWSTI that that's where they put the CDV in the VA chassis, but I've also seen rumor that they are built into the master cylinder like older STIs, and even some mention that they are in the slave cylinder. I can't think of any other reason they'd put random brass blocks in the middle of an otherwise straight shot, but stranger things have been done by manufacturers.... I'm planning on replacing the clutch line, but would kind of like to confirm that they are delay valves before going through with it. TIA!

      Yes it is a clutch delay. Remove it and replace with a stainless line and it drives much smoother!

    Really interesting, didn't realise the bracket needed rivnuts for the install. Have started looking at your back catalogue, are you doing the trans mount? And very interested in the changes to the NVH from these mods.

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Using the rivnuts was the best option as there are two perfect holes there for the brace to sit. very simple to do. Just not much space to work in.
      I don't think I'll be adding anymore bushings or braces to the car. Creating too many NVH makes the car unfun to drive. I still have the daily driver mindset as I want the car to still be enjoyable to drive. The pitch mount was something I enjoyed on my WRX as it increased the overall driving experience with not much added NVH. So it was only a matter of time before I added one to the STI. However, the support brace is new for this gen, but I don't expect it to add much more to the already stiff pitch stop.

    Damn they changed the pitch stop mount brace location from the GR/GVB? made it way harder on VA chassis imho.

    Not sure if you ended up rebleeding the clutch, but I do know that Harbor Freight Bleeder is pretty shitty. And when you saw all those air bubbles it was air bubbles from around the nipple. I used the same bleeder for my brakes and it did the same thing even though I bleed it for like 5 minutes straight. Bought a nicer bleeder and used it for like 2 seconds and no air bubbles.

      Yep. I ended up doing it the old fashion way and recruited my wife to pump the clutch.

      @@Autofreakgarage why cylinder 4 cooling mod ? curious to know

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cyl 4 is prone to over heating causing pre mature detonation. Ej25 runs hot and one of the many reasons why people have issues. Running the cyl 4 mod reroutes coolant to cylinder 4 on the block and keeps the temps down. Thus prolonging the life of the motor and keeping it happy.

      If you thought doing this was a pain in the butt then have fun with your aos and cooling mod install. It’s doable but I recommend having a shop do it if you have limited space and working on the ground.

    Question: I recently installed the Perrin Strut Tower Brace as you have and it touches the firewall, did your also , with it installed I believe I hear road noise and vibrations now resonate into the interior of the car. Do you have the same issue?

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn’t have that issue. Try to position the strut braces up more so it’s not touching. Also make sure the bar is positioned right. There’s a bit of adjustability.

    If I have a 2010 WRX would I need to also install the mount as well ? I’m driving the car mostly casually and it’s a daily ?
    Thanks I’m advance

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      This pertains to most the 2015+ gen. But I would still install it on previous gens as well.

    I know you said better clutch feel with the new line but what are the benefits to adding the brace mounts? Also what’s NVH?

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I explain it at the end of the video. The brace it there to prevent the bracket on the firewall from tearing. It’s a common issue.
      Nvh means noise vibration and harshness.

    Do you ever plan on getting a front mount intercooler?
