Very nice tutorial. After weeding through a lot of other videos, I love yours because there's not a lot of extraneous chit-chat, no time wasting with unnecessary unrelated action, and no annoying verbal tics. Short, sweet, to the point and informative. Perfect. Thank you!
You have answered all my questions that I could not find answers for in a long search. I agree Silhouette should hire you!! Thanks so much for sharing. I cannot wait to find your series you mentioned and learn more from you.
I needed to know how to do these so badly!!! Thank you, Kristen! Literally saying that out loud with my hands in the air at 1.26am in Malaysia while my kids are asleep haha.
I have been searching for videos to show me how to do this for months!!!! This tutorial was so detailed & easy to follow!.. I'm so excited!!! Thank you so much! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wow thank you. This has been one of the best tutorials I've found for using the Silhouette software especially for print and cut. I've run into some trouble when trying to designate cut lines on my imported images and this video just helped me a lot for how to cut out some text.Thought I was going to have to cut it out by hand but your clear instructions saved me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you SO much for this! I have spent hours trying to figure this out and this answered all my questions and made it so easy. Thank you for this video!!!!
Really nice that the program traces the image, because when you first mentioned, "tracing," my heart skipped a beat. For those of us with limited artistic talent, freehand tracing rapidly would deteriorate to disaster. Not to worry, though, as you've thought of everything. Interesting to see future stickers, decals, etc. take shape. Looking forward to what's next.
Hehe, no, definitely not freehand tracing! Silhouette Studio's trace and offset features are one's best friend when it comes to making the cut lines for images.
Hi Kristen, I have only found your site today, I have learnt so much already from you, I have subscribed and look forwards to more of the video's to do with the silhouette program, TFS so much, cheers Anna.
This is amazing i have been struggling with trying to keep the boarders on my stickers even since i would outline them on procreate but this is so much easier and creates nicer cuts!
Great video - easy to understand. I get how to make the offset and cut line but is there a way to prevent the cut line from printing during the print part of the print and cut operation? If I change the cut line to no color then when i upload the jpg Design Space will ignore the offset and remove that as part of the upload process. If I leave the cut line as red then it uploads properly but it also prints out. Is there a way to get around this or do I just have to live with it? Thanks for any info!
Hello! I want to cut just the outside of my file. I put the threshold all the way up. There are still areas (not little dots) that aren't covered in yellow. What do I do? You have the best Tutorial and I've saved it on my Favorites!
I can't thank you enough for being so helpful! Thank you!! Although I still delete the image before it cuts through the cameo, im not sure why it still tries to cut the grouped icon
I was searching FOREVER to find this exact tutorial. Thank you!!! But I have a question.. I am attempting to cut out around a sentence and the program registers the first word as a separate cut. I just want it to cut the offset around the entire sentence without separating the words. And I am saving my PNGs from Canva so I can do different fonts and such.. Thank you to anyone who can help! Happy New Year!!
Amazing tutorial for me to understand more about Silhouette Studio after I switched from cricut! I followed your tutorial for my stickers but sometimes my silhouette doesn’t cut properly... did you have this problem too? Do you have any advice for me?
Where is the file that was setup for the first Print and Cut Video in this series? Purchased mumsgardenelementsdielines and they will not ungroup. Help!!!
Hi, Glennie! If you want to use specific, individual elements from the Mum's Garden set, you can find them in the folder called "Individual PNG Files" in your unzipped file download. All of the images in the set are in there as individual elements, and the image that I used in this video (the flowers in the pitcher) has the filename "bouquet". If you have any issues finding the image or creating cut lines for it, please feel free to email me through my website here: www.kbecca.com/contact/ . Thanks!
wow i cant believe how unnecessarily complicated this is. i LOVE silhouette compared to cricut, but this is the only think that I think cricut is doing much better. cricut has ONE button for it... "flatten". Select your image and flatten it, cricut automatically tells the machine to cut the outline and boom, done. I don't understand why silhoutte cannot do that, too.
sunnierain - Yes, you can definitely print without the cut lines. For projects that you just want to print and not cut, you won't need to turn on registration marks. First, open the file(s) that you want to print. Copy/paste/resize as needed and arrange the images in your file. If there are any red cut lines in your file, you can either delete them out (if they're separate from the image) or leave them since red cut lines shouldn't print by default. Then you can just hit the print button to send the file to your printer and print it out.
@@kdotbecca hi, the cut lines print by default, i was wondering if there is a setting to turn them off from printing without having to delete them before sending for printing. is there?
sunnierain - Hmm, that's strange. Cut lines shouldn't be printing. You may want to try opening the Line Style panel (on the far right menu, it's the 4th icon from the top in the current version of Silhouette Studio), clicking on the tab with the colored lines in the panel, and (while the lines are selected) clicking the transparent swatch to make the lines invisible so they won't print. If this doesn't make them invisible, you may be dealing with color fills, and in this case you can open the Fill Style panel (third icon from the top on the far right menu) and click the transparent swatch while they're selected to make the areas invisible.
Really helpfull guide.. The only thing whihc isn't working for me the Horizonal and Vertical centering.. For me the image and trace always ends up offset... As a quick test, I copy/pasted a quick image from Google and then tracedit.. Then move the image out side of the trace and back loosly.. And then use the Centralize feature under Transform and the image/trace are not alligned.. What am I overlooked? Any ideas?
I have put this tutorial in my favorites list. Silohuette should hire you as a spokesperson. One of the best tutorials. Thanks so much!

I love you for making this video. I couldn't find help anywhere. Thank you! You saved my sticker shop!!! :)

hi, when i am dragging image out its still showing another cut border, what's the solution?
Really like your videos, some of the clearest to understand that I have found. How would you set the image elements to no cut? Where is that located?

Hmm I made my border lines in illustrator. Maybe I should delete that. 🤔
