    • @onehunderdfold
      @onehunderdfold ปีที่แล้ว

      The Cameo 4 does not have a printing function.
      You will need to have a printer either connected to your computer or you will need a networked printer to use, the Silhouette Cameo does not do the actual printing. Your printer will print off a sheet with your printable file and some registration marks. Notice that the gray hatch marks are not printed.

But, if you had a cameo it could get done in a fraction of the time and effort. Saving you stress, exhaustion, as well as physical pain from the un-needed amount of work from using the wrong tool.

    Why do you use the Oraguard, is it for waterproofing? I've recently watched a few youtubers with sticker businesses explain their process and your's is the first I've seen using a laminate to go over the stickers.

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you make stickers at home, they will never be 100% waterproof (because of inkjet or laser printers), but adding a laminate can help against little splashes here and there. It also can prevent ink scratches and increases durability. I also like that it gives a nice, thicker finish and makes it a more quality sticker!

I already have the design for the stickers along with the borders done through Canva in an a4 format, the a4 sheet has around 12-15 stickers per page, so if i were to cut these stickers through cameo 4, do i have to re-edit by designing the stickers in the cameo app as you have done above in 1:10 in the video above or can i directly print the page that i have and give a command to cut? Sorry if my question seems very stupid, just wanted to know how things really work . Thank you once again ! 🙂

    I make stickers for myself but I want to make some for the non-profit organization I manage and want them to be more durable. How well do those hold up with the laminating film on top? Are they fairly water resistant?

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are pretty durable, however if they are exposed to water the ink could run. I don't recommend putting them outside or on cars. The only way they can be fully waterproof is if you are using an industrial UV printer (or getting them from a business that does).

  • @HarryMcKenzieTV
    @HarryMcKenzieTV ปีที่แล้ว

    i prefer having excess paper so it is easier to remove the sticker. than manually slicing each sticker. what if you have 1000 stickers, i cant just manually slice 1000 stickers. i think you can adjust the amount of cut by the machine so it doesn't fully cut everything off.

      @FreestyleTravelShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the HP Envy 6055 printer, and its the only one I have ever used! (amzn.to/3CCqnnI) You don't need anything fancy or expensive, as long as you are using the best print quality. I haven't seen any issues with fading unless you keep the sticker in full sunlight every day. I don't have a ton of experience with laser printing, but I know that I can still get bold and crisp prints with inkjet!

    New subscriber here! I have a dumb question. What are the benefits of printing on sticker paper and laminating VS printing on just vinyl printable paper? Also, can you print on vinyl printable paper on the HP 6055? I'm so confused lol Really appreciate it!g

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not a dumb question! In theory, the vinyl is a much more durable option as opposed to sticker paper, and better for outdoor use. However, if you are making stickers from home, most of the time people are using inkjet or laser printers. This ink is not waterproof, so adding lamination on top of the ink gives a more durable sticker - but still not totally waterproof. If you were to print on the vinyl, the ink still can smear. The printable vinyl is the way to go for commercial UV printers, but not really worth it for home use. After testing various vinyls, sticker papers, and lamination, I have come to the conclusion that the weatherproof sticker paper from Online Labels and Oraguard 215 laminate create the best sticker that you can make from non-commercial grade materials (at least in my opinion). Hope this helps!

    Is silhouette cameo 4 in 12 inch the one you’re using? I’m so confused, they have 12, 15, 24 inch size differences, is 12 inch enough for sticker making business? Thank you ❤

      I just have the base level machine which is the 12" and is perfectly suitable for all of my sticker needs! Most people that have the larger units are using it for vinyl signs where they would need a large surface area.

    Is this just available if you have cameo? I’m using silhouette portrait and couldn’t find the nest icon. Thanks.

      The nesting tool is only available if you purchase the business edition of silhouette studio - it can work for any machine! It's a one time purchase of $89

    My question- am I correct that you don’t need a printer if you have the Cameo?? Everything I’ve seen so far you have to design it on your computer then send it to your printer then put it through your cutter, you don’t need to do that with the cameo am I understanding that correctly?

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cameo only cuts, you will need a separate printer

    Hello, Would you be able to help me please?
    I have the Silhouette Cameo 4 Plus and am trying to print and cut my Honey Labels but my prints from Silhouette Studio are blurry. Like very blurry that you can't even read the labels.
    I designed the labels in Inkscape (SVG) and initially was exporting those into Silhouette Studio as a PNG from 250dpi to 320dpi quality, but everything prints blurry.
    I then bought the Business Edition of Silhouette Studio thinking that being able to import SVG would answer my prayers, however they're still printing the same. I even designed a mock up label in Silhouette Studio and it is also printing very blurry. I have tried all of the dpi settings within the Silhouette Studio software and still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      The only thing that might help is downloading a previous version of Design Studio - at least 3-4 versions back. Do all of your work in the new version, save, and then open the same file in the older version and print. For some reason, this fixes a lot of odd problems - it might fix yours!

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all - all that matters is the material you’re printing on!

    Ok. Your cut setting formula worked once perfectly for me and then the same cut formula did not work again with the same materials. I layer printable vinyl with a sheet of self adhesive laminate over it, run through a cold laminator machine, so perfectly adhered. Your cut formula worked great the first time then would not cut all the way through. I tried the autoblade and the manual one mil set to 10 on each with your setting as dictated in the video. Do you have any suggestions? I even tried 3 passes and it still didn’t cut through all the way. This is driving me insane. I had calibration problems with the Cricut so I switched to Silhouette. I’m about to cry because I feel so frustrated. Lol. Also, my machine sounds like it’s trying to communicate with the mother ship while it cuts - is that normal? 👀

      As far as the sounds it makes, yeah, sounds like the son of R2D2--and all my searches have shown this to be the norm.

    To be clear... the silhouette printed this right? It didn't show that part ... its implied (went from the program, then next shot was a printed page (time 4.31)) but the silhouette printed that sheet before it was cut right?

    • @FreestyleTravelShop
      @FreestyleTravelShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately the silhouette does not print it - it prints from your separate inkjet or laser printer. But you don’t have to do anything different than hitting print!

    so weird I try to do a test cut and I only had photo paper, and it slides around and out. It's almost completely messed up at this point.. I don't know what I'm missing honestly. EDIT: because you need to remove the blue protective layer from the mat as it supposed to be sticky. They didn't tell me this anywhere lol.
