As a former 33 owner, nice to see those 2 videos. Brought back many fond (and not so fond) memories about the daily enjoyments and challenges with a 80s/90s Alfa.

È interessante scoprire ed imparare come tenere le vecchie glorie in forma! La cosa più bella che ci mostri è quanto siano resistenti, tenaci ed "orgoglise" le auto d'epoca.
My folks bought a new red 16v 33 in 1990 when they came out. Not a bad car but a great engine in search of a better chassis. The best all rounder was the 1.5ie on 165 tyres, not as fast of course but a much nicer car to drive and more like the old Sud in character.
Bel video anche se secondo me chi non ha sostituito le cinghie di distruzione sapeva che probabilmente non erano vecchie o per lo meno nn avevano molta strada e comunque é stato un rischio accenderla così. Ottimo lavoro ma andrebbe fatto ancora tantissimo e per farla rifiorire ci vorrà un lavoro immane ad ogni modo non credo che gli facciano tutta questa mole di lavoro. Da notare questa Imola senza il servosterzo cosa che probabilmente succedeva in Italia sono con la prima serie Imola (qualche esemplare poteva venire fuori senza l'optional servosterzo). Ad ogni modo bel video e complimenti per il lavoro espletato.
A tip. You should always rotate the wheel barrel when torque it. Otherwise, you shorten the life span very much. 😅 I love this video. I love looking at you when you work like the professional you obviously are. ❤ Forza Alfa Romeo

But keep the car because you might have some indoor space once. I have space for many cars. Once I went with my 33 from the Netherlands to Venezia, then to Pisa over the Appenijnen mountains, and via non Autostrada but via the road SS1 al the way to St. Tropez. Three weeks holiday with my brother. It was very nice. I know a guy in the Netherlands who has about 10.000m2 of only Alfa Romeo parts. My eyes almost dropped out because of the amount of spare parts. And 50 Alfa's. I have his name and telephone number if you want it. But keep the car. Time will come. They are more scarce/rare than Alfa Suds nowadays.
You had a great trip; it must have been wonderful! I also enjoy driving classic cars. Recently, I’ve been using a Lancia Ardea, the one you see at the end of the radio restoration video on my channel.The car isn’t mine. I’ll try to convince the owner to keep it and perhaps find a covered space. In the Netherlands, there are several collectors with many cars. In particular, I know that they really appreciate classic Lancias.
you deserve so many views and subs, the video besides some audio parts is on top of the genre in my opinion, who knows if someone after seeing this car might choose to save it

E poi vedo anche un bel lavoro di recupero sui componenti dei freni che odora di vero restauro. Love how you pried out the wire connector clip, and broke it instead of squeezing it (you're supposed to press the metal clip IN to remove it...) lol...
Another user told me the same thing; I didn’t know you had to press it. By making the mistake, I learned something new! The connector didn’t break; it was just the metal clip that came loose. Once removed, the clip flew away, and I never found it again, haha
Avresti dovuto controllare e sostituire le cinghie di distribuzione. È stato un grosdo rischio avviare il motore dopo tanti anni di fermo. Comunque grande lavoro, complimenti
E infatti se ascolti i cicli di compressione, all'inizio dei tentativi erano corretti, poi ha cominciato a mancare un cilindro (che sfiatava dall'aspirazione). O è rimasta una valvola piantata aperta o ha scavallato o rotto una delle cinghie di distribuzione. In ogni caso, motore kaputt (il frastuono di valvola contro pistone appena è partita era agghiacciante).
@fabioiarossi6636 Si, hai ragione, ma la sostituzione delle cinghie di distribuzione sarebbe stata molto più impegnativa per quanto riguarda la sostituzione e le attrezzature, e più lunga a livello di tempo
@MarcoBragotto Mi sembra che tu non abbia visto il proseguo da quando si sente il rumore delle punterie. E' vero, sarebbe stato meglio fare molti più giri con motore senza candele per far arrivare l'olio alle punterie essendo idrauliche, ma non penso che tu abbia idea di cosa significhi avere una cinghia di distribuzione rotta a questo punto. Una volta arrivato l'olio alle punterie il motore ha iniziato a girare perfettamente, cosa impossibile con anche un solo dente scavallato e quindi con una bancata fuori fase
Complimenti per il restauro! Oltre alle già citate cinghie, avrei evitato le candele Lodge ed avrei cambiato il cilindretto della frizione(una delle prime cose che si rompe sulle 33 che rimangono ferme)
Be mi è piaciuto il fatto di dedicare il tempo ai vari e piccoli dettagli di lucidatura plastiche, lavaggio e sostituzione spazzola quando hai buco enorme di ruggine sul portellone e le Prese d’aria sul parabrezza 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Comunque bel video spero riuscirai a farla tornare come un tempo buona fortuna 👋🏻
My philosophy is to take care of and make the best of what you have. If there are seats to clean and plastics to polish, I’ll do it, doesn’t matter if half the rear of the car is missing 😂😂

You had to put a little oil into the combustion chamber through the spark plugs and move the wheel manually so that the wall of the combustion chambers would not be damaged.

Incredibile, alla fine funziona, e il boxer è sempre il boxer, ha quasi il rumore di un boxer, pensavo peggio, ma è un motore indistruttibile, con un restauro appena più completo puoi andarci in giro, sicuramente ci sono un sacco di cose da mettere a posto negli interni e da vedere la tenuta, le sospensioni e da sostituire perfino alcuni pannelli di carrozzeria, però il boxer comunque ha un suono, anche in una 33 abbandonata e semi distrutta così, che non ha nessuna auto di oggi : capolavoro la 33
Si sente molto bene che a metà delle prove di avviamento ti sei perso un paio di cilindri: evidentemente una delle due cinghie ha scavallato o si è rotta. A quel punto avresti dovuto immediatamente smettere. Infatti quel frastuono appena partita erano le valvole che picchiavano sui pistoni di una bancata. Tutto questo tempo e questi soldi persi per sistemare cose tipo i freni e hai tralasciato questa cosa fondamentale. Ora ti ritrovi con un motore da buttare....

What happened to your 33? Did you sell it? I don't know the full story of this Alfa because it’s not mine. I only know that it was used until the early 2000s, then parked near a coastal area. From there, time and the salt air did the rest
@@Ego.Reficio The rain and salt literally dissolved the car, eventually it was used as spare for other Alfa 33 projects by people, there are only 2 left on British roads that I can see now, if I can find a U.K. car I think I will eventually go to Italy, Spain or Portugal to get a left hand drive car to restore, people’s opinion of the 33 in Britain seems to be not good due to the rust issue and people believing it’s not a real Alfa.
I understand. It’s a shame about yours. Don’t pay attention to what people say; if you like that car and have memories associated with it, like it being your first car, buy it! Sooner or later, one with right-hand drive will come up for sale

gran lavoro, bravo! io rismonterei le candele, perchè secondo me una si è imbrattata e scarica a massa. il motore gira a tre cilindri. oppure uno degli iniettori è bloccato, oppure ancora, gli iniettori stessi sono un pelino "impastati"
Thank you! During startup, the engine was running on three cylinders, but once the oil reached the lifters, the sound changed, and the engine started running well. My mistake was running the engine without the spark plugs for too short a time. If I had let it run longer, the oil would have reached the lifters sooner, since they are hydraulic
Le 33 credo siano le auto, insieme alle fiat uno, che venivano abbandonate più per noia che per il fatto non funzionassero. ho fatto grossomodo il tuo stesso lavoro su una opel manta 1.3 S abbandonata in un box dal 2000 al 2022 . La carrozzeria era decisamente meglio di questa, salvo alcuni punti che ho provveduto a sistemare . il vantaggio è che la manta in questione era di un ex meccanico opel e con 47.000 km all'attivo ( non che i 93.000 della 33 siano tanti , anzi, per i boxer è ancora in rodaggio ), e di fatto ho solo pulito le candele, cambiato l'oiio per scrupolo, pulito pompa AC e ripulito il Variajet II ( il carburatore ) , e sbloccato i freni trainandola ( era angusitissimo il posto dove era stata riposta ) . Quindi concordo con la linea di pensiero che tantissime auto sono state abbandonate che potevano essere tranquillamente riparate con pochissimo, preferendole l'oblio.

The manual is an original Alfa Romeo one, the same they provided to authorized workshops, it’s not a copy made by someone or done by a private individual. Keep in mind that the manual I used in my video costs $31.99 (without the applied discount) and has 2576 pages. Considering the different 33 models, the information included, and the number of pages, 30 dollars is really nothing
The car was driven only for a short distance. If I were to drive it for a longer time or for longer trips, I would replace them, as well as the tires and the timing belt

Si sente molto bene che a metà delle prove di avviamento ti sei perso un paio di cilindri: evidentemente una delle due cinghie ha scavallato o si è rotta. A quel punto avresti dovuto immediatamente smettere. Infatti quel frastuono appena partita erano le valvole che picchiavano sui pistoni di una bancata. Tutto questo tempo e questi soldi persi per sistemare cose tipo i freni e hai tralasciato questa cosa fondamentale. Ora ti ritrovi con un motore da buttare....

Thank you for doing an Alfa 33, underrated car in its day, it was my 1st car so I maybe bias, I’m obsessed with finding and buying a U.K. spec right hand car again but unfortunately lack the talent to properly restore one and our climate is a killer of them, will watch out for your future projects, what though has happened to this car since?
What happened to your 33? Did you sell it? I don't know the full story of this Alfa because it’s not mine. I only know that it was used until the early 2000s, then parked near a coastal area. From there, time and the salt air did the rest
@@Ego.Reficio The rain and salt literally dissolved the car, eventually it was used as spare for other Alfa 33 projects by people, there are only 2 left on British roads that I can see now, if I can find a U.K. car I think I will eventually go to Italy, Spain or Portugal to get a left hand drive car to restore, people’s opinion of the 33 in Britain seems to be not good due to the rust issue and people believing it’s not a real Alfa.
I understand. It’s a shame about yours. Don’t pay attention to what people say; if you like that car and have memories associated with it, like it being your first car, buy it! Sooner or later, one with right-hand drive will come up for sale

gran lavoro, bravo! io rismonterei le candele, perchè secondo me una si è imbrattata e scarica a massa. il motore gira a tre cilindri. oppure uno degli iniettori è bloccato, oppure ancora, gli iniettori stessi sono un pelino "impastati"
Thank you! During startup, the engine was running on three cylinders, but once the oil reached the lifters, the sound changed, and the engine started running well. My mistake was running the engine without the spark plugs for too short a time. If I had let it run longer, the oil would have reached the lifters sooner, since they are hydraulic

Le 33 credo siano le auto, insieme alle fiat uno, che venivano abbandonate più per noia che per il fatto non funzionassero. ho fatto grossomodo il tuo stesso lavoro su una opel manta 1.3 S abbandonata in un box dal 2000 al 2022 . La carrozzeria era decisamente meglio di questa, salvo alcuni punti che ho provveduto a sistemare . il vantaggio è che la manta in questione era di un ex meccanico opel e con 47.000 km all'attivo ( non che i 93.000 della 33 siano tanti , anzi, per i boxer è ancora in rodaggio ), e di fatto ho solo pulito le candele, cambiato l'oiio per scrupolo, pulito pompa AC e ripulito il Variajet II ( il carburatore ) , e sbloccato i freni trainandola ( era angusitissimo il posto dove era stata riposta ) . Quindi concordo con la linea di pensiero che tantissime auto sono state abbandonate che potevano essere tranquillamente riparate con pochissimo, preferendole l'oblio.

29 euro's for a very bad 'copy' of a maintaining manual?
The manual is an original Alfa Romeo one, the same they provided to authorized workshops, it’s not a copy made by someone or done by a private individual. Keep in mind that the manual I used in my video costs $31.99 (without the applied discount) and has 2576 pages. Considering the different 33 models, the information included, and the number of pages, 30 dollars is really nothing
